ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
My husband was going 65mph on the highway in e-save mode with ~1% battery and 3/4 tank of gas. The “service charge system” error popped up with other red errors on the sides and the uconnect also posted an error. He described the incident as it felt like the transmission was failing. He coasted off the highway, thankfully safely, and put it in park. Then it died. He powered it back on and tried to put it back in e-save and it said e-save not available. He started driving again as he was making the journey to pick up our son from camp. An hour later, while back on the 3 lane highway, he experienced the exact same thing, this time having to pull off to the side of the interstate. At this point, he was not comfortable continuing the drive in this unreliable and unsafe car, and had it towed. Furthermore, we didn’t feel safe putting our kids in the back of a car that stops on you at high speeds. Fast forward to the next day, the dealer called and they told me nothing was wrong with the vehicle. I immediately called Jeep cares. 3 business days later, Jeep Cares called back and said they are not willing to buy back our vehicle but will have it towed 190 miles to a dealer that is closer to our house. This shows me that they are 100% aware of this issue but don’t want to lose their shirt on this car. I refuse to drive it now, especially with my kids. Hoping the dealership next to us is actually able to recreate the issue and figure out next steps.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, SEAT BELTS
The first time this happened I was in Maryland, while reversing out of a parking spot onto [XXX] , the Jeep just shut off, just before that every light on the panel went off and the ABS, Powertrain just to name a few failed. I was stuck 3/4 out of the spot when the shutdown occurred, the steering wheel locked, gear shift wouldn’t move and when I tried to press the brake it wouldn’t go down. I had to hit the ignition to reset it while out in oncoming traffic, after 2 attempts, I was able to get it started and shift into park, then drive and then pull in. During this time the check engine light was on. When I returned to NH I took it to the dealership ( Bonneville & son) they had it for nearly 2 weeks, determined it was the alternator output. They ordered a new one but due to a sku error in jeeps system, it was the wrong part, so they had it an additional 4 days. Today [XXX], I was pulling Symmes Dr to park at the park and ride in Londonderry. While going around a curve, the jeep did the same thing and just shut off at 32mph. Steering wheel locked up, everything went dark on all screens, I could not brake or accelerate. There was no space on the side of the road, there was a line of 3 cars on the opposite lane and there was a tractor trailer in my rearview mirror shuttering. He was able to stop at an angle but was stopped less than 4 feet from my rear bumper. When I saw it in the mirror, I thought that was it. I was almost killed today due to jeeps complacency. SUSPENSION
The front and rear driver side shocks were both leaking oil discovered by the local Jeep dealership service department. This looks to be a common occurrence as others with same make, model, and year have also experienced this problem with the leaking shocks. This failure in the shocks did cause a vehicle wobble at higher speeds while on the highway. Both shocks were replaced.

The contact leased a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while his daughter was driving 65-70 MPH, the wheels locked-up. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact's daughter was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the dealer determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V865000 (Engine). The dealer performed the recall repair, and the wheels unlocked. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving 55 MPH, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where an unknown repair was performed; however, the contact declined to take the vehicle back due to safety concerns. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.

SUSPENSION
Freeway speeds are around 65 MPH. The Jeep has a vibration that was confirmed not to be tire balance-related. When on uneven roads, the jeep can sometimes wobble so severely that it's hard to control. The dealer replaced a steering damper and could not offer any other remedies. The issues still exist.

SERVICE BRAKES, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
While driving my vehicle in four-wheel-drive low, with no lockers engaged I noticed that the rear wheels at different times were dragging, I could also hear and feel the ABS module actuating. During these events I would have diminished breaking capabilities and no ABS warning lights. it was doing it under 5 miles an hour at first and then higher speeds. I got a service ABS, service traction control, service stability control, four-wheel-drive unavailable, service four-wheel-drive system Messages all of a sudden, and i disengaged the four-wheel-drive lover back to 2 Wheel Drive. At this point the brake pedal was hard and would not move, my back left wheel was completely locked. I shut the vehicle down waited a few minutes and restarted it, all of the lights were still active but I was able to move the vehicle. I began traveling forward and the rear wheels alternated locking up. I started backing up to move to a safe position, the brake pedal became hard and I was unable to stop causing my vehicle to collide with a wall, speed was below 5 miles an hour but still caused damage to my left rear quarter panel and fiberglass top. After we assessed the damage, I put the vehicle in 2 Wheel Dr., disconnected the battery for 30 minutes, and was able to drive the vehicle to a parking lot in 2 Wheel Dr. After this point and not having phone service, use a satellite communicator to call a local off-road recovery nonprofit that I volunteer for, they were able to assist in bringing a trailer out to tow my vehicle home as it is unsafe to drive and my children were with me. Unloading the vehicle off the trailer all the lights were gone with the exception of a check engine light is now on. The vehicle is currently sitting in my driveway and will be requesting a tow to the local dealership for them to troubleshoot .

On three separate occasions, the vehicle I own has suffered from a complete loss of power during operation. The initial incident (09/02/2023) occurred shortly after merging onto the westbound lane of Highway 71. Without warning, the vehicle ceased to function, coming to an immediate and forceful stop that nearly resulted in a collision with other vehicles traveling at approximately 60 MPH. The vehicle was rendered immobile, with the wheels locked as if in gear, necessitating its removal via a flatbed tow truck. The dealership was unable to restore the vehicle’s functionality and ultimately replaced the Electronic Control Module (ECM). The second incident (03/08/24) involved a similar sudden loss of power while traveling on Highway 1. This failure resulted in a total loss of power, including both power-assisted brakes and steering, eliminating my ability to signal to other drivers as the vehicle drifted. I was forced to maneuver across three lanes of traffic to reach the safety of the roadside. After several attempts, the vehicle eventually restarted. The most recent occurrence (05/13/2024) mirrored the previous incidents, with the vehicle losing all power and leaving me stranded on the side of Highway 71. Given these repeated and unpredictable malfunctions, which pose a severe risk to safety and severely hinder the normal operation of the vehicle, I am no longer willing to allow my son to drive this vehicle. I firmly believe these issues constitute a significant and life-threatening safety hazard.

The contact stated that after parking the vehicle, the odor of diesel fuel was present outside the vehicle, and fuel was leaking underneath the rear passenger’s side of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the fuel filter housing and fuel filter electrical plug were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired by the dealer. The contact later repaired the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 46,000. The VIN was not available.

The following is an excerpt of the original email I sent dealer on [XXX] one day after I purchased the vehicle: I spoke to **** yesterday and made him aware the transmission on my new/used Jeep Wrangler I just bought failed. I left your facility in the Bronx at 1:40 PM yesterday and was on the side of the [XXX] at approximately 3:30 PM in Dix Hills [XXX]. **** spoke to your Manager **** and recommended that I have it towed to the closest Jeep dealer. The Jeep is now at the Huntington Jeep service center in Commack at 5080 Jericho Turnpike. After waiting for a tow for almost two hours we arrived at Huntington Jeep. The service shop was closed for the day and I am without a car and have no loaner car. I expect Riverdale to have a loaner car in my driveway tomorrow morning. Attached is also the receipt from the tow I need to be reimbursed on. See also pictures of Jeep on flatbed tow truck. The fact of the matter is that I asked about the open clutch recall and was assured that your maintenance team went through the Jeep and took care of any open items. This was not true, as per the attached open recall I just found on the Mopar recall site. It clearly says this VIN# Jeep was not addressed and the exact description in the recall is what happened to me. The Jeep indeed smelled like it was going to go on fire. The fact that you guys sent me on my way with what could have been a very dangerous situation because you neglected to disclose the correct information on the recall. I could have been killed someone near my vehicle could have been killed, because I know for a fact something shot out of the transmission housing and the car behind me had to swerve out of the way. I fortunately was able to get to the side of the parkway safely. I still have no correspondence from either dealer regarding a fix/repair a week later and no loaner car or rental. HVAC DEFOGGER RECALL HAS NEVER BEEN REPAIRED! air flow would not clear visibility when driving there is a recall on hvac defogger system and also an update within the vehicle itself computer system on my vehicle. I was researching this recall when I accidentally tapped onto this issue being completed while i was on credit karma, accidental tapping thst I’d done this repair when I had not! I believe by me doing this it took my personal vehicle off the list …I was trying to research everything about this recall and I hit that as repaired by accident when I never had this issue repaired! I was driving when I needed this hvac defogger to work, in south Texas. The HVAC DEFOGGER SYSTEM did not work at all! I was close to 3 accidents and I drove over a curb due to zero visibility at that time!
