On August 26, 2026, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, with approximately 32,000 miles, experienced a sudden loss of power while my family and I were driving. The vehicle lost power in an intersection, creating a serious safety hazard with surrounding traffic. We were stranded until help arrived, and the vehicle had to be towed because it would not restart. Before the loss of power, the A/C stopped blowing cold air. The check-engine light came on, dashboard components and warning indicators began flashing, the battery warning light appeared, and a “Service Charging System” warning was displayed. This was not simply an inconvenience. The sudden loss of power left us unable to move the vehicle in an intersection and created a significant risk of being struck by another vehicle, potentially causing serious injury or death. I am a military veteran, and this incident caused a severe stress and trauma response because I believed my family's safety and my life were in danger. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether this incident is related to a safety defect involving the charging system, electrical system, hybrid propulsion system, battery system, power electronics, software, or another component capable of causing sudden loss of motive power. I understand NHTSA has previously investigated loss of motive power involving Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles. I am reporting this incident so it can be included in NHTSA's safety data and evaluated for a possible broader safety defect. I can provide the VIN, towing records, photographs/videos of the warnings, diagnostic trouble codes, dealership findings, and repair records. I respectfully request that NHTSA document and investigate this safety complaint and determine whether further action or a safety recall is warranted.

My year 2024 jeep had severe "death wobble" when driving over 60mph just over a minor bump, and it was over the horizontal metal rails on a long bridge. Dealership just replaced the steering damper, the car still loses control over small bumps when driving over 60mph. It's really scary when the bump happens at a curve on freeway. The dealership refuses to look over any other possible causes but to charge me $200 for tire balancing. My car has never taken the off road and never hit anything before. My previous 2009 jeep NEVER had death wobble issues with normal driving.

On the highway, at Highway speeds of 70 mph, going over small bump my jeep goes into a death wobble. Both tires bouncing erratically steering wheel racing back-and-forth. To stop the death wobble I Have to let off the gas and slowly break to a complete stop before the death wobble stops. The frustrating part is, the Jeep Wrangler, is only five years old, and it has never been off-road, and has less than 28,000 miles on it, not to mention how dangerous the situation is. I have had this happen 6 times.

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE plug-in hybrid had the 68C recall performed at a Jeep Dealer. My vehicle was working flawlessly prior to this recall. After the recall was performed, the vehicle hybrid battery system now loses power when accelerating. For example, driving 45 MPH in electric mode on a level road for a minute causes the speed to reduce regardless of acceleration, with the exception of flooring the accelerator pedal which causes a surge of power from the gas engine, causing the vehicle to lurch forward. This creates an unsafe condition on the roadway as the vehicle cannot be reliably controlled. Often times now, the gas engine will surge when a vehicle is in front of me causing me to have to brake suddenly to avoid a collision. This problem persists with every drive under variable conditions. There are no warning lamps or messages besides, "electric mode temporarily unavailable," before it surges. The dealer has not re-inspected the vehicle since the service advisor told me after the recall, the vehicle will continuously assess the battery. He further stated if even the slightest problem is detected, the vehicle will shut down completely and I would need to get the vehicle towed. I find this recall solution to be totally unacceptable and unsafe for myself, my family, and other vehicles on the roadway. This situation needs to be investigated and Jeep should make this right for its customers.

I took my 2022 Jeep Wrangler to my local Jeep dealership for a 21D Fire risk campaign recall inspection and powertrain software update. Car had to be towed to dealership a few days after services were completed, and was diagnosed at dealership, with an offline TCM, throwing a U0101 code. Car was in good working, driving order prior to the recall and software update and is now completely inoperable.

I own a 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4-Door Sahara 4xe (VIN [XXX], plug-in hybrid). Since new, this vehicle has had repeated electrical and high-voltage (HV) hybrid battery system failures. About eight months after purchase, at approximately 6,590 miles, the vehicle lost power and would not restart in a parking lot ("Service Charging System" warning) and had to be towed to the dealer (Repair Order #[XXX], 10/18/2023–10/20/2023); a 12V battery failure was diagnosed. On February 9–10, 2026, the dealer performed Recall Campaign 68C (JL/WL PHEV HV Battery) on this vehicle — a software/module update to the BPCM, HCP, AHCP, PCM, TCM, and IDCM, plus an HV battery diagnostic analysis (Repair Order #[XXX]). On [XXX], at approximately 22,692 miles, the check engine light illuminated and the dealer diagnosed a hybrid (HV) battery failure. The manufacturer (Stellantis/FCA US LLC) subsequently opened a warranty case (#[XXX]) and a lemon-law repurchase case (#[XXX]), confirming the vehicle could not be repaired and offering repurchase or $15,000 cash compensation. As of this filing, the vehicle remains at the dealership, out of service, well past the dealer's own promised repair completion date. Across its ownership, this vehicle has been out of service for HV-battery- and electrical-system-related repairs for a documented cumulative total of approximately 50 days. I am filing this report because a vehicle losing propulsion/electrical power unexpectedly, and a manufacturer needing to run an HV battery software recall campaign on this same vehicle only six months before a full HV battery failure, both raise safety concerns beyond an ordinary warranty repair, and I want this pattern on record in case other owners of this model are experiencing the same failures. - #11758884August 23, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
In June 2026 the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe power shut down along with service engine light in two seperate instances while my son was driving at highway speed. I made the dealership aware and had the vehichle checked out. They said nothing wrong with vehichle. On July 25 2026 I was driving vehichle on highway and cruise control came on by itself along with service engine light. I had no power to accelerate. I had to pull over and shut car down before proceeding. I brought the vehichle to Paul Bailey dealership and they grounded the car on 8/7/2026 when Stellantis agreed to pay for a rental car.

I bought the Jeep Wrangler 4xe used in December 2025 and since then it has lost power, I received a hybrid battery service light and got stranded 3 times. My car was in the garage for the last 3.5 months and they could not find the issue. I received my car today 8/22 and on the same it went into limp mode and got stranded again with the same issue. I have no trust on the vehicle at all, its value has decreased tremendously and I do not know when I will eventually be able to drive it safely.

I am reporting repeated premature failures of the factory charge air cooler (turbo intercooler) hoses on my 2022 Jeep Wrangler EcoDiesel (3.0L V6). Within 73,000 miles, both the primary and secondary turbo charge hoses have hardened, cracked, and failed under standard boost pressure. Safety Risk: When these turbo charge hoses split, the engine experiences an immediate and complete loss of boost pressure (limp mode / Code P0299), severely restricting acceleration and vehicle speed. This sudden, unannounced loss of engine power occurs while driving at highway speeds, creating a severe rear-end collision hazard in heavy traffic. Failure History & Repair Documentation: First Hose Failure: Replaced by an authorized Jeep dealership at under 60,000 miles (November 2025). Second Hose Failure: Replaced by an authorized Jeep dealership at 73,000 miles (August 2026). Stellantis/Jeep treats these recurring structural hose splits as non-warranty "wear and tear," forcing out-of-pocket repairs despite the severe highway safety hazard caused by sudden power loss. I am requesting NHTSA open a safety defect investigation into the material failure rate of 3.0L EcoDiesel charge air hoses.

The engine/dash wiring harness connector XY230A suffered severe thermal degradation, resulting in a melted pin and causing a complete loss of communication with the Transmission Control Module (TCM, Code U0101-00) and continuous dashboard warning lights (Service Connection Error). This vehicle has a chronic history of unresolved electrical failures, having been brought to Stellantis Puerto Rico dealerships three times for the exact same issue, most recently in June 2026. This condition is directly related to the thermal and fire hazard characteristics described under Safety Recall Campaign 26V363 (Mopar Recall 21D) for 2022 Wranglers. However, the Stellantis regional warranty manager formally denied recall and powertrain warranty coverage based on routine oil change loyalty metrics and second-owner status. The dealership forced an upfront payment of $2,311.38 under a partial diagnosis to replace the harness. The vehicle was rendered inoperable and held for 30 days and actually held in service. in addition, they don't bring loaner. The manufacturer's regional warranty manager from Stellantis initially confirmed that I would incur zero costs for this repair but later retracted the decision formally denying recall and powertrain warranty coverage due the reason mentioned above. Regional management flatly denies any relationship between this melted harness failure, the active safety recall or the vehicle's electrical repair history I formally demand a full reimbursement of all repairs and rental expenses, and that my powertrain warranty and safety recall rights be fully honored as originally promised

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the engine overheated, and the vehicle was driving sluggishly with the temperature gauge indicating that the engine was overheating. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the coolant reservoir was cracked and was leaking coolant. The coolant reservoir was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to immediately start due to battery failure. No further information was available. The local dealer was notified of the failures, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 56,700.

Vehicle left me stranded in the middle of an intersection XXX due to high voltage battery failure. Vehicle was totally inoperable. This is the second time the battery has failed. First battery replacement was XXX. Also serviced XXX for battery issues. Vehicle had to be towed to the dealership, date unknown when battery will arrive for replacement. I'm now left with a vehicle that will have zero value for resale. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle and cannot consider driving the Jeep for a long distance. I tried to chat one of the agents associated with NHTSA named [XXX], she was very rude. I hope you can understand this situation is extremely upsetting. Thank you. When driving the vehicle down the highway it just randomly hard shifted out of know where almost causing us to be rear-ended. The dash then said service transmission continue in drive do not shift or turn engine off until you reach a desired location. You may not be able to shift again until services. It then limited power to the vehicle. It was show codes U1003, U0101, and U0402 multiple times. The vehicle was taking to a dealer where it was "parked" only it wouldn't go into park. We had to put the e-brake up holding it in place at the dealer so it wouldn't roll. Then when attempting to shut the vehicle off it only stopped the engine from running. It stayed in ACC mode all night until the dealer could mess with it the next day. The dealer is now saying it's just a dead battery. This is unsafe and could have ended very badly just for a dead battery that showed no signs of issues before hand. For a vehicle that on has approximately 57k miles and is 4 years old this is horrible.

While traveling at highway speed on the freeway, the vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of motive power/engine shutdown without prior warning. The instrument cluster immediately displayed a vehicle graphic outlined with red lines alongside an alert message instructing to shift the vehicle into Park and turn the engine off. > The sudden loss of propulsion in live freeway traffic created an immediate safety hazard and collision risk while attempting to navigate across active lanes to the shoulder. > The vehicle previously had its high-voltage traction battery replaced approximately one year ago under warranty. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized dealership for diagnostic scanning and triage. Dealership said they can do a software update… that’s not okay

When driving in fully electric mode on the highway, my 4xe lit up an error message of “electric mode temporarily unavailable” and lost all power and momentum. I went from 70mph to 50 mph in heavy traffic before the hybrid motor came back to provide power after approximately 4-5 seconds. This is a repeating occurrence when attempting to drive in fully electric mode, even at low speeds. I have nearly been hit in rear end collisions when I have lost power as there is no warning, the acceleration just fails and I lose all power and momentum.

When using electric mode, repeatedly and consistently, when I try to accelerate (for example to get onto a highway) despite having the acceleration fully depressed, the car does not accelerate. After some time, the gas powered engine will rev, the RPM will shoot up and then the car will start to accelerate. If I slow down the electric engine will take back over, but then if I try to accelerate again the same thing will occur. I have videos of the dashboard confirming electric mode, delay to accelerate and eventual activation of the gas motor and RPMs. This same issue was noted by Jeep technicians after the fix for a previous recall on the battery. This is dangerous, If I am not able to accelerate I can not safely drive change lanes, go onto highways, or avoid danger. it has been occurring, but my first video is from Feb 2026, and most recently July 2026.

This vehicle is subject to two open NHTSA fire-risk recalls. The remedies provided so far have not corrected the underlying defects. Recall 25V-741 (Safety Recall 95B/68C), high-voltage battery fire risk: On 1/9-20/2025, dealer reprogrammed BPCM and TCM software only (Invoice #52682); no parts replaced; mileage 18,680. On 1/6-7/2026 - one year later - the dealer performed a SECOND remedy for the SAME recall: reprogrammed BPCM, AHCP/HCP, and PCM software only (Invoice #61639); no parts replaced; mileage 31,553-31,561. Reprogramming the same modules twice within 12 months for the same fire-risk recall, with no battery hardware ever replaced, indicates the first remedy failed to correct the defect. The recall notice describes battery pack replacement as a possible remedy "if needed," but this has never been performed. Recall 26V363000 (issued 6/4/2026), EPS pump wiring fire risk: On 7/10/2026, dealer inspected the power steering pump harness connector only (Invoice #66268, "Safety Recall 21D"); no parts replaced; mileage 36,871-36,874. Across 3 remedy visits spanning both recalls, only software reprogramming or connector inspection was performed - zero hardware parts replaced. This pattern indicates the fire-risk defects remain uncorrected. Requesting NHTSA review the adequacy of these recall remedies.

I am requesting NHTSA investigate the handling of Safety Recall 78C on my Jeep Wrangler 4xe. My vehicle has entered a dangerous highway limp mode multiple times, including at approximately 75 mph, with sudden loss of power and an ACC! warning. This is especially dangerous on California highways and steep grades where losing propulsion can make it impossible to maintain traffic speed or safely reach a shoulder. The ACC! warning has appeared three times. On one occurrence, while the warning was active, O’Reilly Auto Parts scanned the Jeep and documented pending code P2338, Cylinder 3 Knock Control Threshold. I have the printout showing my VIN and mileage. The problem is that the warning/code clears after the ignition is shut off. When the condition happened on a Saturday, the Jeep service department was closed. Dealership sales staff refused to scan it and said only a technician could use a scanner. Even during business hours, the dealer says only a technician can scan it, but technicians may not be available for days. It is impossible to leave the vehicle running indefinitely waiting for someone to scan it. The Santa Maria Jeep dealer has now driven the vehicle twice and says that because the warning did not reappear during those short drives, they cannot confirm the condition. These events have occurred days apart, so two short test drives do not rule out an intermittent engine defect. I had the Jeep towed through Jeep Roadside Assistance because I consider it unsafe to drive. Jeep Cares has assigned me three different case managers in three days. They state they cannot require the dealer to examine deeper stored diagnostic data because they are third-party contractors. I have photos of the ACC! warning, the P2338 diagnostic report, VIN, mileage, tow documentation, and repeated loss-of-propulsion history. Jeep Cares and the dealership won't look deeper or longer even with the proof it was there.
