Subject: Urgent Safety Complaint Regarding Jeep with Death Wobble – Purchased from Maxon Buick GMC, Union, NJ Dear NHTSA, I am writing to report a serious safety issue involving a Jeep SUV I purchased for my son on [XXX], from Maxon Buick GMC located in Union, New Jersey. The vehicle was purchased for over $30,000, and within the first day of driving, my son began experiencing what is commonly referred to as the "Death Wobble." This violent shaking occurs unexpectedly while driving and has been happening every day since the vehicle was purchased. After doing some research, we learned that the “Death Wobble” is a known issue with certain Jeep models, and the symptoms are consistent with what my son has experienced. It is extremely frightening and dangerous, and I am deeply concerned for his safety and the safety of others on the road. I do not understand how a dealership is allowed to sell a vehicle in this condition. Selling a vehicle with such a potentially deadly defect is both irresponsible and unethical. This issue must be investigated and addressed immediately to prevent further risk to drivers and passengers. Please consider this an urgent request to look into this matter. I would appreciate confirmation of this complaint and any information on what steps will be taken to hold the dealership and manufacturer accountable. POWER TRAIN, SUSPENSION
My 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with 2.0 liter turbo engine has had two failed “Rear Axle Assemblies or differentials” within 3 years of each other. The first time was in July 2022, and my service repair order says rear Diff replacement. Now this time, my dealer is saying we need the whole rear axle assembly which is on national back order. No current ETA for delivery, with no additional info other than none are even in production at this time. Since my vehicle is under warranty for another 4,000 miles or so, I would like to use Stellantis warranty for my repair. However, They are no help and are saying we cannot order a different OE part, or a used part. The vehicle is unsafe to drive as I can feel my loss of control especially on wet roads in Florida. After searching the internet I have found this is a common problem with the sport, and Sahara versions from 2018-2025. Now that we can’t even get replacement parts, it creates a whole other set of problems. I would like to mention everything is factory on my Jeep and I have never been off roading. Not even once. So 2 failed rear axles is just unacceptable.

SERVICE BRAKES
The ABS module has quit working and Stellantis and our local Jeep Dealership keeps saying the part is back ordered or under Engineering review and this has been going on for 2 years. With the ABS module not working some of the vehicles systems do not work as designed. Obviously the ABS system is deactivated. The module also controls the cruise control, anti hill assist and there is noticeable difference of how the automatic transmission shifts and at what RPM it shifts. Since the module has been declared and not available and appears there is no replacement available from Stellantis and Jeep this leave me with a vehicle that parts have failed that are important and designed for the vehicle safe operation and not recourse available to me or other others of Jeep Wranglers with similar or worse problems. Stellantis and Jeep need to come up with an alternate ABS Module or a fix to the modules on my vehicle.

While driving on the highway, the vehicle experienced total power loss. Instrument cluster showed a Service Charging System now error. Had to coast to wide of road. Instrument cluster also said m “put in park to start vehicle” with a flashing “D” on the gear selector. After turning off and back on, power returned.

I am the owner of a 2020 Jeep Wrangler JL with the 2.0L turbo engine, and I am writing to report a fuel leak issue that I believe is related to Recall Y10 / NHTSA Campaign 21V-665, which involves the high-pressure fuel supply line (Part #68297642AD). My vehicle is experiencing a strong fuel smell and visible fuel leak, and a technician confirmed the failure of the fuel line. However, my VIN does not currently show as included in the recall, and I have been told the repair is not covered under warranty. Given that my Jeep has the same engine, same part number, and identical symptoms described in the official recall — I’m requesting one of the following: That the dealer be allowed to inspect the fuel line’s date code and replace it under Recall Y10 if it falls within the affected range, or That Jeep/Stellantis cover the cost of the repair as a goodwill safety-related assistance, since the failure occurred outside the normal warranty but is consistent with the recall defect. I take safety very seriously, and I hope Jeep does too. Please let me know what documentation or diagnostics you need from my service provider to support this request.

The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the valves and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the engine was not under warranty. The manufacturer offered no assistance. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the stability control and traction control warning lights along with several other unknown warning lights illuminated. The power steering and fuel gauge were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the Can Buss Connector to the circuit board located behind the glove box had malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the part was on back order and not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle experienced an electrical failure and stalled. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the HV Battery had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the part was on back order. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 34,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted, and the check engine warning light intermittently flashed on the instrument panel. The contact was able to continue driving. In addition, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine and the failure was progressively worse. The vehicle was taken to a transmission center; however, no cause for the failure was found. The battery was removed and reinstalled. The vehicle software was updated, and the check engine warning light turned off. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while driving 15 MPH during the rain, the vehicle hydroplaned on the road. The contact's father was driving and was able to control the vehicle. The contact stated that the traction control had failed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 134,500.

SERVICE BRAKES
The front left (drivers side) caliper stuck and the the brake line needs replaced. The caliper sticking was causing extreme heat that could have caused a fire as well as brake failure. The dealership confirmed that the parts need replaced. No warning messages were ever appear. Additionally, the left brake line from Mopar is not availalbe and there are almost a 1000 on back order. The Jeep is not drivable and no parts available for the foreseeable future to fix the problem.

The ABS Control Module has failed (part number 68259556AD). I have discovered it has been unavailable from Chrysler/Jeep for over 2 years. I read where this is a dispute between Chrysler/Jeep and their supplier of the part. I feel it dangerous not to have my ABS system, and it seems the manufacturer is doing nothing to make the part available. This needs to change.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The instrument panel cluster that shows the speed, odometer, and fuel levels has been sporadically 'going out' while driving. On Friday 7/18, it went out completely and did not come back on. This affects safety of driving in that I have no idea how fast I'm driving or fuel levels. I have to rely on iphone capabilities for speed, which is not as accurate. The problem has been inspected by a mechanic and he indicated that the Instrument Panel Cluster would need to be replaced at a cost of close to $2,000. He indicated that there was a recall on 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler models involving a safety issue with the IPC and that it may experience a short circuit and fail, potentially causing the display to go blank and hindering the driver's ability to see critical information like speed and warning lights. Recall# 24V652000 indicated this failure could increase the risk of a crash. Per the mechanic recall info was sent October 2024 yet I did not receive anything. Per the site my VIN# is not included in this recall. I believe this is the EXACT issue that other vehicles were called and this particular vehicle should be included in this IPC recall.

I have a 2021 jeep wrangler and the brake hose went on the driver front side. Mopar product ID is 68307451AH. I have called numerous dealerships and Mopar themselves. They informed me this hose is on backorder for over 841 jeeps, and they are unable to get this across the US. Knowing how many jeeps are needing this hose, is it possible to get a recall on it due to the fact it is imperative to fix right away? I've been trying to find a replacement or an alternate but no luck. This is my only mode of transportation and don't want to keep driving my jeep as it continues to veer to the right due to the faulty hose I'm experiencing.
