While driving our GMC Yukon XL, the vehicle will begin shuttering, losing power, slip gears, or unable to shift gears. On one occasion, the vehicle lost was unable to accelerate and maintain speed causing my wife to quickly respond by changing lanes and pulling off on the shoulder of a road, in a very dangerous situation, all while coasting without engine power. Two independent mechanic shops have reported that the torque converted failed and had sent metal fragments throughout the transmission, and ruining the transmission. Both mechanics recommended a new transmission.

Service Trailer Brake System keeps coming on while driving. Dealership says nothing wrong although they replaced fuse. Still happening. Only thing that seems to work is pulling off road and restarting vehicle. That is only a,temporary "fix". Comes back a few days later. This is a safety issue as 1) distracts me while driving 2) I pull an 8,000lb travel trailer with the vehicle.

1. Fuel pump power control module Code #P129F 2. Sudden stalling of engine at potential high speeds/ dense traffic areas. This created a major safety hazard for a potential FATAL accident. 3. It has been currently confirmed by the dealer Gerry Lane Buick GMC after initial the breakdown it was sent there for investigation. 4. No, It has only been inspected at the dealership in Gerry Lane Buick GMC in Baton Rouge Louisiana. 5. NO warning lamps or symptoms before COMPLETE and INSTANT vehicle failure at NIGHT on 10/1/2023. Additional Information: Please see NHTSA Recall #N212332040 After our own investigation we have found a recall report for the same year make and model for the same issue of the fuel pump power control module. Our VIN was not included in this recall but has the exact issue and year as the recall. This is very dangerous to have these vehicles driving around without the owners knowledge of the potential FATAL Danger.

The air-conditioning (A/C) unit in my 2018 GMC Yukon XL (my vehicle) is not blowing as cold as usual. The dealership (Westpoint GMC) where I purchased my vehicle says their A/C department is backed-up and that I would need to leave my vehicle with them for 2 to 3 days to run diagnostics. I took my vehicle to another General Motors dealership instead, Westside Chevy, and their A/C department or technicians state that my vehicle has a leak in the rear evaporator coil after running their leak detection tests. I purchased my vehicle new on May 4, 2018, and have not any mechanical issues nor heating, ventilating, air-conditioning (HVAC) issues since ownership. This mechanical flaw / malfunction / disruption in the cooling comfort of my vehicle during this extremely hot weather puts the life of other drivers and myself at risk of injury or fatality due to discomfort and inconvenience while driving. There are no alerts or alarms associated with the failure of this mechanical component within the HVAC of my vehicle. This condition first appeared on September 30, 2023. I understand that a possibly similar or related investigation in other GM vehicles took effect in February 2016 under Technical Bulletin 16-NA-046. Is it probable that there is a design flaw within the 2017-2019 GMC Yukon, Yukon XL and other similar builds HVAC?

WE purchased this GMC Yukon brand-new in January 2022. Since July 2022 and at 5700 (five thousand) miles, I have been experiencing a repeated Check Engine Light problem. I have taken the vehicle to my local GMC dealer, who has involved GM Engineers, on seven [7] occasions to have the problem fixed, but they have not been able to resolve the issue. I am now concerned that this defect is built-in the vehicle itself.

My car is giving me all kinds of warnings, parking assist off, rear back up, trailer brake, the radio sounds go off, blinker sounds go off, while trying to park power steering locks up, it will die in the middle of a turn. It’s doing everything The 2015 recall was created for. I do not think my car was fixed during the recall period. It is very hazardous.

I was driving on Highway 78 from Alabama to Mississippi, when all of a sudden we heard a loud explosion type noise. My husband looked up at the panoramic sunroof, and there was a large hole, along with shattered glass. We looked in the SUV, and there were no objects to be found that could have broken the sunroof. It appears the sunroof spontaneously exploded.

Engine Valve Lifter for cylinder 3 had failed and Camshaft lobes damaged. Error codes of P0300 and P0303. Vehicle had 67,049 miles when I brought it in to be repaired at Park GMC in Greenville, SC on 12/28/2022. GMC has the lifters (they replaced all 8) and the camshaft. Failure happened while on I40 in the Smokey mountains at night while driving back from Dollywood with my family. Engine produced a gassey sputtering sound and I lost some power but only noticeable under acceleration. Had another lifter failed due to the worn camshaft lobes, we could have easily been rear ended. A year prior to the failure (September 2021), I had taken the vehicle to a Wakefield Buick GMC and Parks Buick GMC to be inspected due to a shake at idle. Both dealerships said there were no codes and they didn't know what was wrong but they could feel the shake/vibration intermittently at idle. In November of 2022, I got the P0303 error code and took this vehicle to a private mechanic (since dealerships previously said nothing was wrong) who diagnosed an issue with the fuel injector for cylinder 3. I had mechanic replace all 8 injectors and he cleared the code. About 150 miles later (while on I40), the code came back. I took this vehicle back to the private mechanic and after several weeks with my vehicle, he refunded me the labor and said it was probably an issue with the lifter but he didn't have time to take apart the engine. I then took this vehicle to Parks GMC in Greenville, SC where they diagnosed a lifter and camshaft failure. Lifters and camshafts should not be failing in vehicles with under 100k miles.

Had transmission issues (slipping, jerking and jumping ), while driving on highway. it will not accelerate when pressing the gas and would accelerate randomly / jumping fast Uphill it wont move forward on drive grar, instead it rolls back, which can hit rear vehicle. very dangerous and not derivable with bad trans as it can lead to accidents. its very common and reoccurring issue with GMC Yukon 2018 (SLT, SLE, Denali, Yukon XL..etc models )

Consistent with NHTSA Special Coverage Adjustment 17336, the A/C condenser began leaking in my 2017 GMC Yukon XL. I am filing this complaint for NHTSA to consider extending the mileage limit for the special adjustment. Unfortunately, this occurred at approximately 80,000 miles, or 8,000 miles after the special coverage adjustment. It may have, in fact, occurred sooner than 80,000 miles. I noticed the problem at the end of May 2023, having not engaged the air conditioning unit since on or about October 15, 2022. During that time, I probably put 8,000 miles on the vehicle. The problem was confirmed by Wilkins Automotive in Glen Burnie, MD. They provided an estimate of $2,600 for parts and labor to fix the problem. When I contacted GM and mentioned the special coverage adjustment, they offered me "400 or 500" GM points, or the equivalent of a few oil changes. I ultimately had it repaired at a reputable independent repair shop for $1,050. FYI, the GM dealer quoted more than $600 for the freon. While freon is expensive item, the independent repair shop charged me just over $300.

The OEM LED taillights can fail due to a manufacturing deficiency. A metal strip that connects the LED's to the cars taillight circuit develops a crack and interrupts current flow to the taillight LED's. The above is common knowledge to the car community and is searchable on line. Concerns: 1) If both taillights are failed at the same time the vehicle doesn't have any of the required visible markings, especially at night. 2) From an economic point of view, unlike vehicles that use incandescent light bulbs that are easily replaced when burnt out, these LED light assemblies have to be completely replaced to the cost of several hundred dollars plus labor which could/will lead to the neglecting of this repair because of the economics. 3) Unlike incandescent bulbs, LED's are should last much longer to the point of outlasting the life of the vehicle. This isn't the case when there is a manufacturing defect. In my case on 10/21/21 the defective taillight assemblies was replace under a defective taillight extended warranty agreement. I requested to have both replaced because of the odds of the second one failing. They refused. So when the opposite side assembly failed recently i was out of the extended warrant date resulting in a cost to me of $392.88 labor included. In conclusion, The well documented failure of the above taillight assemblies leads to vehicles being non conforming to FMVSS.
