As we were leaving Cortez, CO. on a two lane highway we were passing a couple of cars with plenty of room to get back into to the driving lane when we lost ALL power from the engine. The cars we had just passed had to slam on their brakes as we were trying to keep from a head on collision. But with no power and the Denali in neutral we couldn’t change anything. We coasted to a County Road approach and it DIED in the middle of it. NO POWER. We had to call a tow truck who took it back into Cortez to Webb Chevrolet. The engine had seized. God was watching over us that day. We have since found out that there has been MANY seized engines with the 2022, 6.2 liter engines. In many new pickups and few of the suburbans. In fact, the Webb Chevrolet people said they have had one that they replaced the seized engine with a new 6.2 liter engine and in 500 miles that NEW ENGINE ALSO SEIZED! This is a MAJOR SAFTEY ISSUE!! THIS ENGINE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE IT RUINS LIVES OF THE FAMILIES WHO ARE DRIVING THEM!!. We only had 42,000 miles on our 2022 Yukon Denali and Chevrolet couldn’t even rent a vehicle to get home and it would be a month to have to wait for a new one. We had to trade vehicles to get home. Point is, when the engine seizes while passing cars on a two lane, somebody is going to die. Families aren’t at fault when the company has been notified of their negligence to get a recall on this engine and fixed. We’ve had our Denali in for service several times for electrical issues. This should qualify as a Lemon Law. Instead, GMC tried to send a $5000.00 voucher to use when we buy a new vehicle. This family has bought GMC, CADILAC’S, CHEVY’S FOR OVER 50 years. We like our salesman and would continue this business, but not if you don’t make SAFETY FIRST!! RECALL THIS ENGINE NOW!!! Take care of YOUR customers and OUR friends! LOOK FOR YOURSELF THE AMOUNT OF SEIZED ENGINES IN THIS 6.2LITER ENGINE. Thank You, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA)

Engine shut off at freeway speeds (65mph) on 2 occasions. Driver was able to coast over to side of freeway both times. On 1st occasion CHP protected vehicle from other traffic on i-5 with safety lights and traffic control. On second occasion, tow truck came quickly and kids were evacuated to prevent heat stroke in 113 degree weather. The first incident was “repaired” with a new starter and battery fuse block at 21720mi, but only lasted to 21814mi before same event occurred. No warning of failure before or after incident, just a dead engine. Second event (7/2/2024) is still being investigated by dealership.

On [XXX], my wife was driving her 2022 Yukon XL in [XXX] , when she heard a loud pop and realized her sunroof had exploded and shattered. Thankfully, the sunshade was closed, which prevented shards of glass from entering the interior of the vehicle. She was driving alone, had not gone under an overpass, and there were no other vehicles in front of her. There was no indication that a foreign object struck the glass and the remaining glass is clearly protruding outwards. A quick search on this issue revealed that this is not an isolated incident and has been noted by consumer reports and a previous NHSTA investigation. On June 20th, 2024, I contacted GM customer service. I was told that there are no recalls, extended coverage, or safety bulletins on the sunroofs. The customer service agent stated she had never heard of the issue and recommended that I contact my closest dealership for repairs. Repairs are estimated to be around $750. I am urging the NHSTA to reopen an investigation on defective sunroof glass and GM to issue a recall before someone is injured or killed. I purchased a used 2016 Yukon xl may 20 2024. Over the last month only put 2k miles on it. I continue to receive a message to service trailer brake system. I dismiss this and it continues to chime and be a nuisance popping up blocking my dash from seeing important things like speed etc and the noise is extremely distracting as a driver. I’m unable to use the hands free talking through Bluetooth as it interrupts quite frequently. This makes driving an extremely dangerous and unpleasant ride

Pinhole fuel leak located in the bend radius of a plastic, quick disconnect coupling, of a pressurized fuel line, just forward of the fuel tank. Being a pressurized line, the leak is continuous, whether the vehicle is on, or off. Due to the location of the leak, fuel is sprayed upwards onto other shielded lines and components, representing a safety/fire hazard.

drivers side tail light flickering and sometimes not working a $900+ cost! I issue with right hand side when suv has 32k miles, seems like this is an ongoing issue, luckily it was still under warranty the 1st time. The AC condenser when out in April, also an know issue with the Yukon, they wanted to charge me $1500 to repair, I was able to find someone to do it for around $600, now the outlet and usb ports seem to not work. I also had an issue with the braking system , dealer couldn't figure it out, I finally found someone to repair it, $500 fix. For what I paid for the Yukon, you would think they would use top of the line parts!

it’s the lifters that are collapsed and The lifters are pitted because the camshaft is cracked. So in couple months some of my friends who owned GMC Yukon had same problem. I think this problem become a common problem need to investigated by GMC and the cost should paid by GMC no matter it’s in guaranteed or not. Repair cost is around 10000$.

GM vehicles manufactured between 2015 – 2019 equipped with GM’s 8-speed transmission are equipped with a defective transmission design of GM’s Hydra-Matic 8L90 transmission or Hydra-Matic 8L45 transmission, which causes vehicles to suddenly lurch forward, shudder, and experience significant delays in acceleration. GM not only knew about this pervasive issue but developed a fix for it in 2018 – namely a transmission flush it calls Mod1a. However, GM made the business decision in 2019 to forgo recalling all impacted vehicles (approximately 2 million) to receive this flush, which would have cost GM about $305 per vehicle for a total $592 million, and instead decided to limit the flush to only unsold Cadillacs and trucks in certain states where it expected customers to complain within their warranty. Furthermore, GM never alerted existing customers of the issue or the fix and only addressed the issue if the customer was under warranty and complained about the shudder. GM marketed and sold these 8-speed automatic transmission vehicles as having “world-class performance,” lightning-fast and smooth shifting, along with improved fuel efficiency, and instead sold defective vehicles.” These conditions make it difficult to safely merge into traffic or back out of a garage/driveway. Even more troubling, the transmission defects cause the vehicle to delay downshifting and decelerating when the brakes are depressed. The affected vehicles include Chevrolet Silverado (2015-2019); Chevrolet Colorado (2017-2019); the Chevrolet Corvette (2015-2019); the Chevrolet Camaro (2016-2019); the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV (2015-2019); the Cadillac ATS, ATS-V, CTS, CT6, and CTS-V (2016-2019); the GMC Sierra, Yukon, and Yukon XL, and Yukon Denali XL (2015-2019); and the GMC Canyon (2017-2019).

- #11588423May 13, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
My vehicles Electronic stability control is activating randomly. This issue started a few years ago and has increased in frequency. We will be driving at speeds between 50-75 mph in dry conditions and it will randomly activate which has almost caused us to lose control of the vehicle. No mechanics have been able to figure it out. I did some research and saw there was a vehicle recall issued for 2019 GMC Yukons Electrontronic Stablilty Control system, but for some reason it does not cover my vehicle. The GM recall number is N192261050. The description of the issue matches exactly what is happening. I called GMC and issued a complaint and also have setup a dealership to fix the issue. I don't believe i should be responsible for paying the cost of the repair since other 2019 GMC Yukons were recalled for this issue.
