STEERING
My steering assist is reduced drive with care message is on. The AC is no longer working and the fan is constantly running and sounds horrible. The temperature gauge has not come off of cold. After researching this issue online-it looks like this is a constant problem with Acadias from 2017-current. People are talking about the cost being between $1100-2400 to fix. There is a service bulletin out about this issue(17-NA-158) May 2017 If GMC knows that this is a problem why are they not recalling them?? My car was purchased brand new and of course is out of warranty like most others(the extended warranty doesn’t cover it either) GMC needs to recall these vehicles and fix this issue!!!!!

AIR BAGS
GMC issued recall #N232404980 Re airbags that are faulty and may rupture releasing metal fragments causing injury or death. My vehicle is part of that recall. Immediately called my dealership after learning of this recall. My dealership states that yes my car is part of the airbag recall but they have no parts available to fix it. I was told by my dealership that no one has these parts yet. No timeline is available. When contacting GMC customer care I was asked to initiate a case or claim. They escalated the claim telling me if I feel unsafe driving my vehicle they are required to provide a rental until these repairs can be made. Weeks have gone by without any movement. My dealership says they need authorization from “someone” at GMC to provide me a loaner vehicle. The recall has been active for well over a month. GMC records their customer care calls and I’ve been told by GMC associates to contact you or the better business bureau. I’ve been told I should not drive my vehicle because of the safety risk. I have to work and take care of my children. I feel GMC is morally obligated to stop stringing their customers along and either fix the faulty vehicle that they sold me or provide a safe method of transportation in the meantime.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
On 3 occasions vehicle will shut off while driving down the road. When restarted goes into limp mode. Have at repair shop now and they stated there was a campaign on the electrical fuse box but my Vin is not included. This is a complete disaster waiting to happen on busy roadways. Waiting for the parts to arrive so they can replace it, stated they see wires arcing. This is a $1000.00 bill that is most definitely a safety issue, perhaps someone jumped the gun on which Vin numbers to include. I am fortunate that I wasn't on the interstate when this happened. Very upset.

The contact owns a 2019 GMC Acadia. The contact stated while parking and attempting to turn off the vehicle, the message "Shift to Park" was displayed, though the gear shift indicator had displayed that the vehicle was in park(P). The contact stated that she restarted the vehicle, shifted from park(P) to drive(D) continuously until the vehicle responded as needed. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.

RECALLED. GMC NOT OFFERING ANY SOLUTIONS. I have two jobs, and two children. Got a notice saying recall "An Infaltor rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag and into the vehicle interior, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants." I noticed there have been TWO recalls on this. The first one was in 2022, and I was never informed. I need a solution. A refund for the loan amount or something. I can not put my children in the car, and I have no transportation and no solution.

I just purchased this vehicle and within a day, it was already giving an alert that something was wrong. Says "action required, shift to park". My car was in park. It was not shutting off due to the notification, which leads your battery to drain. The next day, as I was driving with my kids, the headlights start flickering, and then shut off. It left us driving in the dark and nearly causing a wreck because someone didn't see us coming because it was too dark. The dealership said they look at it, so I don't know what will happen moving forward. It's definitely not safe unless the issue is addressed.

Im getting new tires on my car and was told the alignment cannot be done due to the rear tow links needing replaced. I was told it's a known issue with Acadias and should be covered under a recall I called my dealership and it's not a recall.

For a few months I intermittently get an engine light on, the temperature gauge goes to zero, the AC stops working, and an error that driver assist in unavailable. This will happen for a fee days and return to notmal where everything is fine. This happens on and off again. I google searched this and it is a huge problem with GMC Acadias. I used an obdII scanner and get a P0128 coolant error when this happens even though the temperature is fine. I just recently went over the new car warranty and GMC will not tell me if this is covered or not.

The contact was unaware if any warning lights were illuminated. The contact owned a 2008 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, a grayish-colored smoke as well as an abnormal sound emit from the engine without warning. The contact pulled over and exited the vehicle as the vehicle was quickly engulfed in flames. The contact called the fire department and they extinguished the fire. A fire report was filed(#23-046145) and no injuries were reported. The contact stated that the highway barrier was damaged as a result of the fire. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic where it remained in their possession. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

The contact owns a 2017 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission was slipping, and the vehicle would not properly accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the camshaft and timing chain however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was later taken back to the dealer who later replaced the transmission. After replacing the transmission, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. A diagnostic test was performed, and it was determined that the camshaft and timing chain was faulty. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle would intermittently display a "Shift to Park" message and sound alert chiming when moving shifter to park position. The car could not be parked until the chiming and message were dismissed by jiggling the shifter, sometimes after a prolonged battery-draining attempt to end the condition.
