SummarySome 2021-2023 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 3.0L EcoBoost engine, 2021-2023 Aviator vehicles equipped with a 3.0L EcoBoost or 3.0L plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) engine, 2021-2023 Edge/Nautilus vehicles equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost, 2021-2024 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost, and 2021-2024 Bronco and 2024 Ranger vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a ticking/tapping or rattle type noise from the top front cover area of the engine. This noise may occur on initial start-up after a cold soak of 6 hours or more that may last for 2-5 seconds. This may be due to an internal component of the variable cam timing (VCT) unit. Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 > Diagnosis and Testing > Engine > Pinpoint Test F has been updated to include additional steps along with a video to identify the affected VCT unit that requires replacement.

SummarySome 2025 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost engine may require various repairs and/or maintenance on the fuel system. This may require removal of the high-pressure fuel injectors, high pressure fuel pump, and/or fuel tank/sender. The applicable Workshop Manual (WSM) Sections 310-00 and 303-04 have been revised to reflect updated replacement service procedure steps for these components. Some component removal steps were eliminated from the service procedures and service labor times adjusted to reflect the latest WSM updates.

SummarySome 2025 Explorer/Aviator vehicles may exhibit a condition where the instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays an unexpected Watch the Road warning while using BlueCruise with no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored related to the driver-assist systems. This may be due to the steering column tilt angle and/or driver seat position (height and backrest angle). Replacing components is not expected to resolve this issue. Optimize driver head position by adjusting the steering column tilt angle and driver seat position (height and backrest angle) to ensure the driver status monitor camera (DSMC) mounted on top of the steering column has a clear view of the drivers entire face from chin to forehead. Provide both Explorer and Aviator customers with a printout of the Lincoln Aviator Owners Manual page titled, Lincoln BlueCruise > How Does BlueCruise Work. The Explorer Owner's Manual is in process of being updated. If the customers symptom persists after the above adjustments have been performed, continue with normal diagnostics found in the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-03B.

SummarySome 2024-2025 Nautilus and 2025 Explorer/Aviator/Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with Ford/Lincoln Digital Experience may exhibit a "Map Source Not Available" message on the instrument panel cluster display (IPC) when using Google Maps via Apple CarPlay®. Google Maps does not yet support displaying the navigation map on the IPC within the Apple CarPlay® environment and this is currently the expected behavior. Replacing or reprogramming the accessory protocol interface module (APIM) will not resolve this condition and no diagnosis or repair is necessary. Inform the customer that a future Google Maps update for iPhone is anticipated to enable this functionality. This update will be delivered directly through the Google Maps app on their iPhone and will not require an over the air (OTA) software update or dealership visit.

SummarySome 2023-2025 Explorer (rear windows only), Bronco Sport, Escape, and Maverick vehicles equipped with minor feature code B2DAC may exhibit an inoperative passenger front and/or rear window switch. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by clicking "Additional Information" under Vehicle Information or double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner of Professional Technician System (PTS). This may be due to an open diode in one of the passenger window switches. To correct the condition, replace the passenger window switch of the affected window. If the condition persists continue with normal diagnostics. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 501-11. For claiming, use causal part 14529 and labor operation 14529A in the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
