I found a bolt head and a washer laying on my garage floor. After looking under the vehicle, it broke off from where the right side front cross member mounts to the bracket that attaches to the vehicle body. I took the vehicle to the dealer, they said the bolt was on back order and had no time frame when it would be available. They said that the vehicle was safe to drive because there were five other bolts holding it to the body. The dealer kept the bolt head and washer.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STEERING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
On 6 occasions in varying driving conditions “Service AEB System Immediately” message and warning lights has appeared on instrument cluster. When this occurs all safety features are also disengaged. Furthermore, on a different occasion the vehicle was parked for 4 hours and after starting the vehicle I received a “Power Steering Overheat” message and warning light on the instrument cluster. Due to this the steering also became stiff. Finally, on 4 occasions now a “Parking Light Out” message has appeared on the instrument cluster. When exiting the vehicle it is observed that the DRL in the passenger headlight will frequently turn off during operation and just go black. Then after restarting the vehicle will come back on. This vehicle has already been in service twice (and is going in a 3rd time this week) for these issues and have shown no signs of resolution. I am seriously wanting to lemon law this vehicle at this point as it does not feel safe to operate with the many electrical faults.

SERVICE BRAKES, ENGINE, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Upon engine start up at the home of my S/O, [XX], the warning "Service Automatic Throttle Control" appeared on the dashboard. Placing the vehicle into gear first in reverse, then in drive resulted in sudden acceleration and erratic lurching. I had no brakes whatsoever. At one point my S/O nearly hit on the dash per signed affidavit. I had to place my 2024 Jeep Compass in Park in order to stop and then slowly maneuver it into a safe parking spot before having it towed to Golling Jeep Ram Dodge in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Tech diagnosis two days later showed Error Code 2299. But the vehicle started and operated as normal. Nothing wrong. After a test drive the next day to be sure, they had me get my vehicle. Although my door sticker gives a manufacturing date of 6/2024, I call your attention to NHTSA Recall 24V-240 over throttle control system software. Strangely enough, this exact same malfunction occurred at the same address on [XXX], almost a year earlier. It was towed at that time to Suburban JDR in Farmington, MI where, again, my vehicle showed the same 2299 Code but otherwise, performing well, advising me to come get my Compass. So, both times my 2024 Jeep Compass took control away from me, this time with no brakes, almost injuring my S/O. Fortunately, both incidents happened in her gated community with no pedestrians or traffic. In addition to this intermittent, dangerous malfunction, I owned both a 2018 and a 2021 Compass one of which, like the Dodge Ram recall, had a horribly malfunctioning turn signal. The VINs: 2018 [XXX] ; and the 2021 #[XXX]. This is real and dangerous. That I can attest to. My 2022 Jeep Compass has been experiencing engine stalling/shutting off and problems with surging or jerking and cutting off. Surging forward when coming off the brake. Engine shutting down while stopped or at low speeds, at stop signs, or traffic lights. Jerking sensation, when slowing down or accelerating at low speeds. Me and my passengers have been at risk on several occasions of being rear ended or other collisions. I have ask the dealers (Sons Chrysler Jeep) service department to look at this issue on several occasions but they have said they cannot find any issues. My vehicle is currently at the dealer for this issue as it stopped 3 times in the past 2 days.

The ABS wont go off it constantly stays on I put a brand new battery in it went out about a week later had to jump start it...When it rains or snow it is like my wipers and headlights goes crazy and sometimes my backup camera is all blue for no reason...I feel like there is something major wrong in the wiring somewhere

On November 1, 2025, while backing my 2021 Jeep Compass out of the driveway, I noticed the rearview camera started 'jumping' and displaying colored lines. I pulled the vehicle in front of my home, and suddenly there was loud banging and the engine light started flashing. I immediately turned the vehicle off, and it would not start again. I contacted the Jeep dealership Monday morning, November 3, 2025 to advise the vehicle started making loud noises, engine light flashing, rearview camera not displaying properly. The Jeep was subsequently towed to the dealer. I was advised by service tech that there was a fluid leak in the trans pump area. I was also told the vehicle did not pass a battery check, and gave authorization to replace the main battery. The service tech advised the radio needed to be replaced, I told him the radio played fine, but the rearview camera malfunctioned while backing the car out. He said the rearview signal is from the radio, I declined to replaced the radio. I have had several issues with the 2021 Jeep, included oil leakage, and now transmission leakage. I also note certain 2021 Jeep Compass models have rearview camera issues, and upon calling Stellantis November 24, 2025, they advise my particular vehicle is not affected. I disagree. The vehicle has regular maintenance (oil changes) and has 24,200 original miles. I believe this to be a defect and also a safety issue.

While driving 65 miles an hour down the road my vehicle hit a hard stop( felt like I ran into a brick wall) . memo on my car popped up, saying service transmission. Being completely stopped and using the gas, it wraps up to four or five RPMs just to get me rolling. There’s not much power behind the gas pedal. Thankfully, the person behind me did not tail end me when my vehicle hard stopped.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
The electrical system in my 2025 Jeep Compass repeatedly displays multiple warning messages, including issues with the engine, AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking), and “Start/Stop Disabled.” Recently, the airbag warning light has begun turning on and off daily, advising to “get service.” When I bring the vehicle to the dealership, the error codes are no longer present, and the technicians say they cannot duplicate the issues. However, while driving recently—with no other vehicles nearby—the AEB system suddenly activated, causing unexpected emergency braking. This is extremely dangerous and could easily lead to an accident. I’m very concerned that the safety features intended to protect me could instead cause harm. The airbag warning appearing and disappearing daily raises fears that the airbags could deploy unexpectedly, especially since service technicians cannot reproduce the warnings. In addition, the vehicle has been in the shop three times this year for what sounds like an exhaust leak, but no issue has been found. These repeated electrical and safety malfunctions indicate a serious defect, and I strongly believe this vehicle should be reviewed for a recall.

ENGINE, STEERING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
This car has stalled 9 times while I was driving. I live in a very busy, densely populated area where car stalling in the middle of streets can get me badly injured or killed. The car stalls in Drive, while I'm braking, and slowly coasts along about an extra 2 feet before completely stopping. I cannot tell that it has stalled because I can't hear the engine, and the Dash always says "Run" with all the lights lit up. Also, Lane Assistance comes on when no cars are around and the car just starts braking on its own and slows down with loud bells ringing and flashing lights on the inside of the car. I turned Lane Assistance off, but it stills comes on by itself. I'm afraid to drive it, but it's all I have and in this city you need a car to get around because nothing is close to home.

SEAT BELTS
When I go to buckle or unbuckle my seat belt it takes a lot of effort and time! I have to use my middle finger just to reach down to the button! This is very annoying and also would be unsafe in a vehicle accident if you needed to exit in a hurry!

LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I purchased a brand new 2025 Jeep Compass Latitude, and shortly after, I started getting repeated error messages for several safety features, lane departure unavailable, blind spot monitoring unavailable, auto high beam unavailable, and automatic emergency braking unavailable. These warnings appear randomly: sometimes as soon as I start driving, other times 5–10 minutes later, or even after 30 minutes to an hour of driving. There’s no consistent pattern, and when they activate, all the affected systems stop functioning until I restart the vehicle. I’ve taken the vehicle to the dealership three times for this issue. The first time, I was told there was nothing they could do because no active code showed at that moment. The second time, they said they couldn’t look at it because they had no loaner available. The third time, I left it for nearly two weeks. They said they test-drove it, the error never came on, and that Jeep engineers have acknowledged this is a known issue with some Jeep and Dodge models. I was told there may eventually be a recall or software update, possibly within a year, but no fix is available right now. I don’t feel safe driving a new vehicle with unreliable safety features that turn off unexpectedly and can’t be repaired. I rely on these systems for highway and night driving, and it’s unsettling that the dealer and manufacturer both admit to an issue but expect me to continue driving and just wait for a future update.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that the instrument panel was illuminated while attempting to start the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the battery had failed and needed to be charged. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The forward crash detection detects objects on the side of the road that do not present a hazard. The vehicle then automatically, abruptly brakes causing temporary loss of control in the vehicle. In one instance the system detected the barriers in a construction zone causing me to almost lose control of the vehicle and crash into the barrier. The problem has been confirmed by both the dealership as well as Jeep. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacture, police, or insurance. There are no lights or indicators of the issue.

Active lane management jerked me off the road disabled my forward and rear crash detection sensor and my automatic high beams were disabled all simultaneously without warning or any sign scared me and my family since then my forward crash section is permanently on and will not go off I have no active lane management it disabled and said service and for the past 2 weeks has been nothing but electrical failure after electrical failure my dealership says there nothing they can do except clear the codes and reboot the system and see if that helps (we did that it didn't work either) so I feel like I'm paying for something that has only lasted me 17,000 miles and is about to quit because the computer in it or something is causing my jeep to be unsafe

SINCE THEN MY RANDOM DASHBOARD LIGHTS HAVE COME ON AND OFF, THE CALL HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES ALL RELATING SUPPOSELY TO THE BATTERIES GOING BAD. I HAD BOTH BATTERIES CHANGED LESS THAN 2 YEARS. the accident occurred on [XXX] in the city of Visalia, Ca. I’m not sure what time it was happened and any other details because I’m not the person involved in the accident but I bought the car from a dealership located in Corona, Ca on [XXX]. They never mentioned that the car was involved in a collision or if it had an accident reports. Even brought a Vehicle History report with the contact details. Then the first day when I bought it the engine light turns on and on the dashboard said “transmission service” so I tried to return it to them but they said “isn’t possible” so they took the car to supposedly fix it but after one day that they gave me the car back the engine light turns on again, so I had to investigate by myself and I found that the car was on a collision and it was registered as a rental vehicle in another state and after the accident it was put on sale by an auto auction.
