My car has been shuddering but nothing ever pops to sensor there’s a problem. My car only has 109k miles on it. Serviced pretty regularly I think the transmission is going out and I have only had the car since November of 2019. If I would’ve did my home work I would’ve went with a Honda. Now my car won’t reverse or go any faster than 15 mph

The steering assist on on our 2015 Ford Focus failed at 35,000 miles as I was backing out of the driveway. The steering fault was indicated on the dashboard and the car became very difficult to steer. Had I been driving on the street or expressway this very well could have resulted in a serious or even fatal accident. I checked with the dealer to see if a Ford safety recall had been issued. There was no safety recall on this year Focus. Sure seems like Ford should issue a safety recall regarding this issue since there is one for the 2014 Ford Focus and other Ford cars. It is the same steering assist unit. The car was undrivable, of course, and the local authorized Ford dealer charged me $2,470 to replace the steering gear. It was in the shop for more than a week. My wife and I are retired on a fixed income and an unexpected $2,470 expense is devastating to us. We bought this car hoping to keep it forever and save money along the way. After dealing with the defective transmission, sync that doesn't, radio and brake repairs we see now this was a big mistake. My grandfather built Model Ts in Detroit and both of my parents were Ford employees in Dearborn their entire adult life. We have always been a Ford family. I will never buy another Ford.

- #11433073September 15, 2021STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM
Car has 122k miles. At the end of August 2021, the electronic power steering failed while my son was driving home from work, making the car difficult to steer while driving. The car displayed a notification of power steering failure. The dealer has had the car for two weeks, they confirmed a complete failure in the electronic power steering module. The dealer said they have to replace the entire steering rack at a cost up to $2500. I see this similar failure has led to a recall on the same year Ford Fusion, but not on the Ford Focus. Clearly this has to be a manufacturer defect. 900 complaints in NHTSA for this issue and no recall issued.

The vehicle lost motive power. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle and had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed the failure with code P1450, and the fuel pump and canister valve were replaced. The front dashboard and steering wheel airbags went off. if I was moving this could’ve ended even worse but luckily I was stopped. My hearing was affected. I was parked at a red light and my airbags went off. I did not hit anything nor was my car moving. Witnesses at a restaurant and auto repair shop say the same. My car had passed that years inspection and there was no signs of this happening. No lights, sounds, anything. It was very sudden.

As I was driving down the road my power steering went out. I pulled over and tried to turn the car off and on and had no luck. I then got a warning that said my power steering malfunctioned. I do not know what I would have done if I were on the interstate as I had been 2 minutes earlier. I cannot believe I am alive. This is the second time something like this has happened. The other time I just had my car stall out on the interstate as I drove down it. That time it was a transmission issue.

The power of the car (a 2013 Ford Focus Electric) simply STOPPED within a few seconds of the warning message. A red triangle appeared on the dash with the message Stop Safely Now. I was surprised and pulled over. My safety was at risk because had I been making a left turn in traffic, I would likely NOT HAVE SURVIVED. I was on a country road and able to pull over immediately. The car lost power within seconds and would not move. After my car was towed away, I learned: This is a defect that FORD knows about; it has been confirmed in one of their technical safety bulletins (TSB 17-0045.) It ought to be a RECALL. It is a huge safety issue. The car was towed to a Ford dealership parking lot and could be inspected.

My car is sitting in the garage because I was told not to drive. Parts from Ford transmission issue are on back order. I'm a 66 year old and I need my car to go to work. I called Ford to see if they would do the Lemon Law and after review they said no. I have had numerous issue with my car. My car has only 45000. I took it to a couple of other places and they said they are back up 3 to 6 months on the same issue with Ford transmission. I read an article about the Ford issues in your web page and it's identical with the issue I'm having. Clutch locks and I am unable to reverse and the car is not accelerating when I hit the gas pedal. It jumps. I need help with this. Thank you

While driving to work, my transmission started to slip. On the freeway, if I pressed the gas pedal, my car would NOT go faster. Instead, my engine would rev to almost redline and my car would continue to coast, but loose momentum. Once the transmission downshifted to a lower gear, then the transmission would begin to work. Once I got into the City, I almost rear ended someone when the transmission surged. I was pushing the gas through an intersection, and suddenly my car lurched forward, the tires squealed, etc. I had to slam on my brakes to avoid slamming into the car in front of me.

My car started to rough idle, when I go to press the gas pedal there is no rev or acceleration or anything. It came up with a code for the throttle body and had it replaced and it worked fine for a while and then it happened again, so I replaced the throttle body again and it started happening right away again. This has happened at 80 MPH and almost caused an accident! I just want this to be understood, and I am not the only other person having this issue!!

I was driving down the interstate and the car died with no warning. I was able to get to side of road and checked to see what was going on. Nothing looked weird. I started the ignition and the car started right back up. I took it to mechanic but could not find anything. It happened a again a few weeks later. No check engine light or any warning lights ever came on.

HI, Ortega Highway in California. got a flat tire. I pulled over to change to the spare and can't get the lug wrench (OEM) on the nuts...(drizzling steadily) I see I am risking stripping the lugs. I'm in the forest- cell signal is spotty. I'm left no choice but to drive on my flat tire slowly to a gas station (several miles) And they can't get it off. I call for a tow to tire shop. They show up in a car w/ a 4 way lug wrench..because of course, they assumed they had to fit. must be my ineptness..and he can't get one lug loose. And now I miss my appt., I have to wait another two hours for a tow truck, while several creepy people want to "help" me.... (help me get thrown in their trunk they mean.. ) I'm making light of it now, but I really resent my safety being put in jeopardy and not even given a heads up when Ford knows it's a problem...no surprise, I've got a Focus transmission .Any integrity & ownership of defective design is non existent.. I can forgive mistakes, they happen. And as long as I am aware of them, I can prepare... But Ford doesn't give a [XXX] about our safety. I've had it, no trust is left. Cost benefit analysis is their concern, which saves them money short term yay, for stockholders & CEO bonuses. Ignoring their long term loss of customers due to unethical behavior. Tangent over.. I made it to the tire shop 15 minutes before close. That shop was the place I first learned of the lug nut "2 metal swelling and stripping" issues. He had a special tool just for Ford Lug nuts. This has happened several times since then... I have had to leave my car on the side of the road, also, drive it to the tire shop slowly. damaging my rim... But my real concern is getting a flat tire that I cannot change myself because the lugs strip/ swell in some isolated area... was lucky it was day that first time, scary as [XXX]...Ford puts drivers in unsafe situations because irresponsibility is now it's business model. Cost us time, money, & piece of mind INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM
