The vehicle was brought to a certified Ford dealership for an active safety recall and manufacturer extended warranty repair. Due to a malfunction related to the recall issue, the fuel lines were completely ripped off the fuel tank. This component failure is currently available for inspection on the dealership's lot. This failure created an immediate, severe safety risk. Severed fuel lines present an active fuel leak, toxic vapor release, and an extreme fire/explosion hazard in a public dealership parking lot. The physical damage was personally inspected and photographed by me on the dealer's lot. However, the dealership service center is actively refusing to execute the safety recall remedy or fix the severed fuel lines unless I pay out-of-pocket for an unrelated, standard maintenance battery replacement. Furthermore, the dealership provided a multi-point inspection report falsely marking the vehicle status as "all green" despite the severed fuel lines, and they have intentionally withheld the true condition of the vehicle and the required repair orders from the manufacturer's corporate tracking database.

I had a recall on my vehicle in June of last year for a new motor. I had oil leaking all in my intake. I didn’t get my car back till December with a new motor. As soon as I left the check engine light came back on. I took it back and they said it was my battery. Now my oil is leaking all in my intake again. I haven’t put 12000 on the motor and that’s the warranty. My car was repaired incorrectly. The dealership shows no interest in it. It’s been there since 10/14/2026 and at first they said it was my battery again and my fiancé demanded them to look closer at it then they called about my oil leaking everywhere again. I haven’t received a call since.

The transmission is messing up real batteries like it's automatic. And when it goes into the next gear , it goes into gear and then goes all the gas falls down all the way 20 and the gas is gonna be about like you got a five speed it shifts up-and-down all the time up down up down, there was A\n Problem with these transmissions that they went over to court for and had a lawsuit against them to fix these cars, I go to the place. And they tell me Only in california though that time would fix it and I said , I can't not change my purge valve , because my light wasn't on , I just took it off myself , cleared the check engine light even though it was still stored in the computer , they wouldn't even check it

The vehicle is subject to NHTSA Safety Recall Campaign 18V-735 (Ford Recall 18S32) regarding a defective Canister Purge Valve (CPV) that causes fuel vapor saturation, excessive fuel tank vacuum, fuel tank deformation, and engine stalling. The vehicle presented with an active check engine light for diagnostic trouble code P0420 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold). Ford technical service instructions under Recall 18S32 explicitly link code P0420 to a stuck-open CPV dumping unmetered fuel vapors into the exhaust stream. The franchised dealership initially performed only a software calibration without replacing the mechanical valve.Upon return, the dealership confirmed the defect and replaced the CPV under recall warranty at no charge on Repair Order # 872120. However, dealership service management refused to inspect the catalytic converter for secondary fuel-wash damage unless an unauthorized $220 customer diagnostic fee was paid. The technician cleared the diagnostic trouble codes in the stall without executing the required OBD-II drive cycle. Repair Order # 872120, Line C explicitly documents: "VEHICLE RELEASED FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF RECALL 18S32 WHERE CPV WAS REPLACED. P0420 STATUS PENDING DRIVE CYCLE COMPLETION". Following completion of the required drive cycles, code P0420 returned immediately. Secondary catalytic converter degradation is documented damage resulting directly from the recalled component. Dealership service management has refused to return calls, disconnected phone contact, and ignored written inquiries to avoid submitting the required manufacturer Prior Approval warranty claim for secondary recall remedy. The vehicle and service records are available for inspection upon request.

when the vehicle accelerates too quickly or up a very gradual hill, barely any slope, it will slow to a stop. this is in line with the current recalls with other Ford focus 2018s likely caused by the Canister Purge Valve. it has the exact same symptoms, poor fuel economy, rough idling so much so the entire vehicle shakes, and the dangerous part- stalling. I have now stalled 4 times and have been in and out of multiple mechanics for this issue and no one can seem to identify the root and it's getting costly. now they are saying it might be the canister purge valve but if it is I think it should be covered despite my vin not being perfectly aligned because it's ultimately the same issue with the same vehicle, make and model.

- #11769646October 7, 2026FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The vehicle experienced a catastrophic failure of the canister purge valve (CPV), causing an excessive vacuum that violently deformed and collapsed the plastic fuel tank. The deformation was so severe that it breached the fuel system, causing raw gasoline to pour directly out of the filler area and onto the ground when fueling was attempted, presenting an immediate fire hazard. Furthermore, the structural collapse of the fuel tank pinched and shorted out the fuel pump electrical wiring harness. This short circuit caused a massive electrical spike that blew the high-amperage master mega-fuses located on the front of the battery box, causing a total loss of electrical power to the entire vehicle. The manufacturer's initial safety recall remedy (Recall 18S32) failed to prevent this dangerous recurrence, and the vehicle is currently at a dealership being evaluated under Customer Satisfaction Program 24N07.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Focus. The contact stated that after the vehicle was repaired under a recall, while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly idled, causing the engine to misfire with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle sputtered during the misfire. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the engine needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the cylinder wall had failed and the engine needed to be replaced. The contact was concerned that the failure was caused by an improper recall repair. The contact stated that the failure had not occurred until after the recall repair was performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by telephone, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 63,126.

- #11769075October 5, 2026FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V369000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the failure occurred after the recall repair. While starting and driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle stalled after refueling, and the RPM fluctuated while idling. The contact turned off the vehicle and waited before restarting the vehicle. Additionally, the contact discovered that the fuel tank was deformed. The contact retrieved DTC: P1450. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the canister vent valve needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was not associated with the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone. The failure mileage was approximately 57,800.

- #11769171October 5, 2026FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The vehicle has a recurring fuel-level/distance-to-empty (DTE) malfunction that has caused it to run completely out of fuel and lose motive power while the instrument cluster indicates substantial remaining range. This has occurred four times. On the first three occasions, the vehicle ran out of fuel while displaying approximately 28-30 miles DTE. On two occasions, including the most recent, the engine shut off unexpectedly in the roadway and other motorists had to help push the disabled vehicle out of traffic. During the most recent incident, the vehicle displayed approximately 35 miles DTE when the engine shut off. There was no sputtering, warning message, warning lamp, or other indication that the vehicle was actually out of fuel. I previously brought the vehicle to an independent repair facility specifically for the inaccurate fuel/DTE indication and occasional stall-like behavior. Fuel trims were checked and no obvious cause was identified. I subsequently learned that Ford Safety Recall 18S32 had been performed on this vehicle in 2021, before I owned it. That recall addressed excessive fuel-tank vacuum/possible tank deformation and identified symptoms including inaccurate fuel gauge, inaccurate DTE, and possible stalling. I then brought the vehicle to an authorized Ford dealer and repeatedly identified the inaccurate fuel/DTE condition as my primary concern, including providing it in writing. The dealer performed a PCM update under another campaign, but the fuel-level/DTE malfunction was not diagnosed or repaired. After that dealer visit, the vehicle again ran out of fuel and shut off in the roadway, this time while displaying approximately 35 miles DTE. Roadside assistance was requested. The vehicle is available for inspection. Ford has been notified and an Automotive Safety case opened. The cause remains UNKNOWN. My concern is repeated unexpected loss of motive power while the vehicle indicates usable fuel remains.

- #11768879October 4, 2026POWER TRAIN, SERVICE BRAKES
I am reporting severe, life-threatening pre-existing safety defects involving the mechanical braking system and the dual-clutch transmission assembly on my 2017 Ford Focus. After purchasing the vehicle from a dealership under the fraudulent written assurance that a safety inspection was completed, I was forced to drive the vehicle a long distance across state lines with my pregnant fiancée and my [XXX] daughter inside. Immediately upon arrival, a certified multi-point mechanical safety inspection at a Ford facility uncovered that the vehicle was completely unroadworthy and posed an immediate hazard to public safety. The safety inspection documented a catastrophically failing transmission clutch assembly, completely rusted-out and failing rear brake rotor/pad assemblies, bad wheel hub bearings, and severely degraded drive belts. The immediate degradation of the dual-clutch power train and the mechanical brake failures under highway conditions created an extreme physical safety risk, including potential wheel lockup and immediate power loss on the highway. I request that this failure list be officially attached to the ongoing federal defect investigation for this vehicle model's power train and braking components to protect other consumers from fatal highway failures. I am NOT filing in regards to the clutch fracture recall on previous page . I AM filing a complaint regarding the 1.0 L Ecoboost engine "wet timing belt " system which is currently under NHTSA Engineering Analysis . My vehicle has 147,000 miles and still has the original wet timing belt . Ford`s original maintenance schedule states this belt is a standard wear item that lasts 150,000 miles . However , independent and federal data shows these belts degrade prematurely , shedding rubber teeth that clog the oil pump pickup tube screen .This creates a severe safety hazard , including sudden engine seizure and an immediate loss of power braking assist while driving . Because this is a systemic design flaw creating an unreasonable safety risk , Ford should expand safety recall 23S64 / 23V905 to cover 2015 manual transmission models . This engine is EXACTLY the same engine as the ones covered in the 2016-2018 recall with the same " wet belt " design . Ford has already insinuated to many owners that the belt degradation is due to wrong oil types used in these engines . The owner`s manual clearly states to use a Ford oil specification ( WSS-M2C945-B ) which I have used religiously . Ford later recommended a newer oil specification ( WSS-M2C948-B) after the fact . They also have recently recommending changing the belts at 100,000 miles instead of 150,000 miles after the fact . Interestingly , newer versions of this engine are using a METAL timing chain instead of a rubber belt that degrades . I wholeheartedly believe Ford should be forced to recall these cars and fix this belt safety issue before someone gets seriously injured or killed .
