SERVICE BRAKES
ABS light goes on and off. I took it to a dealer and was told it was a C0020-01 ABS pump motor control electrical failure. There is no fix at this time as Ram is looking into the problem and will not supply any fixes until further investigation. The light and chime goes off all the time and it also cancels my cruise and anti slip. There needs to be a repair for this.

ABS unit is malfunctioning for the third time on the truck. The dealer has already replacement it twice but it keeps beeping for notification and flashing the ABS indicator. The Hydraulic Control Unit doesn't work, because of this I can't use Cruise Control or the 4x4 component of the truck. The Traction Control System light is on making it difficult to break properly in wet surfaces. There are thousands of people waiting for the replacement of the ABS unit, due to the 2017 and 2018 models having this issue.

The contact owns a 2021 Ram 3500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V060000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

2018 Ram 3500 has a code C0020-01 anti lock braking pump motor failure. Seems to be a common problem that Ram trucks has not recalled. this is a blatant safety issue that they seem to be ignoring. Parts to repair this issue is hit or miss from what I understand. Please step in and hold ram accountable.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission suddenly downshifted, causing the vehicle to decelerate abruptly. Additionally, while driving the vehicle, the engine temperature gauge increased to high, with a burning plastic odor and smoke fumes entering the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the PCM was reprogrammed, and the temperature sensor was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 32,000.

Grid heater bolt failure. Vehicle is currently located at the dealership and the is labeled “Do not start”. Part of the grid heater bolt can fall into vehicle intake and cause catastrophic engine failure. Check engine light came on after bolt failure. This has been a known issue but nothing has been done to resolve it.

Truck has 61423 miles. Started to hear a slight grinding noise from front brakes 70 miles ago. Started to get worse. Suddenly pedal went to floor and lost all front brake pressure and rear brakes did about nothing to help stop. Limped truck back to my garage. Upon inspection, front left outer pad was completely gone. Caliper was directly making contact with rotor. Inner pad still has plenty of use left. Inner pad has the metal piece to make the noise to alert you that your pads need to be replaced. I can supply pictures of caliper missing 3/16" of material and remaining pad surface.

Service antilock brake system. This problem appeared about one year and a half ago, I took it to the Dodge dealership where after diagnosis, they replaced a valve in the hydraulic system. the cost of the repair was, $800.00. Now as of 12/28/2023, I am having the same problem with the same code and dash brake light and stability control. We need a recall, which will repair these problems, or redesign the parts associated with this system. Now, I am driving a vehicle that is probably unsafe to use. The vehicle is a 2017 Dodge Ram 3500 6.4 liter engine, SRW. Thank you

The contact owns a 2018 Ram 3500. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle unintendedly steered to the right. There was no warning light illuminated. The contacted turned the steering wheel between the 10 and 11 0’clock positions to keep the vehicle aligned. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was then towed to a local mechanic however, the vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V021000 (Steering). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 102,000.

Abs failed 2nd time less than 10000 miles after first failure. First failure just before 36000 miles repaired under warranty. 2nd failure just before 46000 miles. No parts available est for repair $1000 to $2000 dollars. Truck now has 52869 on odometer. Failure affects cruise control, and maybe trailer brakes and traction control

SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
From what I understand these Ram Pickups have numerous problems with the ABS module and HCU unit going out and our truck has had the same problem we had to replace the HCU unit at only 10876 miles on November 4. 2020 and now we have had the ABS warning lights coming on and took to dealer on 10/11/23 with only 22287 miles and they say we need a ABS module, we are told this part 68347098AB is on back order and as of January we still have not received it and now dealer is telling us they came out with new part number. For ram not to be able to provide parts to fix their defective braking system parts is a safety issue and Ram should make this an urgent recall issue and pay for the replacement. You cannot find the part anywhere and Ram Truck owners are having to drive with dinging warning lights and unsafe braking issues.
