ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
While driving, the instrument cluster/odometer intermittently flashed and became difficult to read for ~15 minutes. After parking, the odometer continued flashing for ~10 additional minutes. After the flashing stopped, the vehicle displayed “ParkSense Unavailable – Service Required.” On a separate date, with no trailer connected and without pressing steering wheel buttons, the cluster displayed a “Blind Spot Alert – Trailer Type (Conventional/Goose/5th) – Press OK to Select” prompt. These events were captured on video. Safety risk: driver information/warnings become unreliable while the vehicle is in motion, which is distracting and may reduce awareness of speed/vehicle status. No crash, injury, or fire occurred. A dealer inspected the vehicle and reviewed the customer video. The dealer documented stored electrical/communication/configuration faults consistent with the concern, including ECU configuration mismatch, lost communication with the trailer interface module, and communication bus off faults. The dealer performed software updates to related modules and road tested ~34 miles; the concern did not reproduce during the test drive. The vehicle also has an open safety recall (NHTSA 26V-059 / FCA 03D) for the trailer tow module with remedy/parts pending. Incidents occurred on 02/16/2026 and 02/18/2026 at ~3,000 miles, including after cold/rain conditions. One restart sequence did not immediately stop the flashing. Dealer scan recorded the following (stored) DTCs: TIPM B2204-87 (ECU configuration mismatch), TIPM U116B-00 (lost communication with trailer interface module), and ITCM U0077-00 (communication bus off). Dealer performed module software updates including CADM update per TSB 08-020-26 and PCM update per RRT-26-036. Recall remedy for 26V-059 / FCA 03D remains pending parts.

POWER TRAIN
While entering the interstate highway and accelerating to merge into traffic the transmission would not shift properly and check engine light came with code p0871. I could not fully control the speed to keep up with traffic due to the erratic shifting of the transmission and was nearly rear ended by another vehicle also merging into traffic. This could have caused a multi vehicle accident at highway speed of 65 MPH. The p0871 code is transmission fluid pressure sensor / switch c circuit range/performance. There have been previous recalls with this transmission for the same problem but my vin was not listed. Transmission would not shift properly until code is reset with scan tool.

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and the engine was turned off, the gear shifter shifted into the drive position when the contact's minor [XXX] child entered the vehicle to retrieve an item using the steering wheel and gear shifter to enter, causing the vehicle to roll down a hill and collide with a tree. The impact resulted in significant damage to the passenger side door, bumper, and truck bed. Although a child was inside the vehicle at the time of the incident, no injuries were reported following the collision. No air bags deployed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it had notyet been inspected. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000. There is a recall for the trailer brake control and trailer wiring for light. I bought the truck to tow my 5th wheel trailer and have travel plans starting in march of this year.. ram has put a stop sale on 450k trucks because of this recall. The dealers are fixing the unsold trucks on the lot before they fix customer vehicles that have already been purchased. All the dealerships in Arizona are telling me it could be 3-6 months before my truck is fixed.. so I can’t safely tow a trailer or go on my trips. So basically I have a 1 ton truck that is useless to tow a trailer

SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
While towing 10,000 lb trailer vehicle displayed indicators that traction control and ABS were failing. I've taken vehicle to dealer 5 times since recall and it's now over 1 year and Chrysler failed to remedy recalled defective part 68143491AA. Chrysler complaint case no. 95672952 filed on 2/16/26. Chrysler HAS in fact produced the replacement part No. 68143491AB - supersedes failed part no. above. Local dealers have qty 9 of part locally in stock and sell to public for $500. After calling many parts dept sources, I learned dealers are lying and telling current owners no remedy available under recall so that Chrysler can prioritize replacing Ram trucks traded in to dealers so they can fix under recall and make those vehicles sellable by dealers as highest priority for parts. However, dealers are also willing to sell the new part to consumers at full msrp at parts counter + labor in service center. So they make eligible customers pay full price up front and fight to get reimbursed later after being out nearly $1000 to fix Chrysler's problem. I get that there may not be enough parts on hand for every recalled unit - yet. But there are enough now at dealers that when a truck comes in to dealer service center with proven HCU failure indicators (traction control and ABS warning lights) those customers should be given the recall part with labor as required of Chrysler. In my case, brake failure warning lights were documented 7 months ago at North Fort Worth Auto Nation dealer service center under invoice #187541. So, there is no excuse why I'm now being lied to and told they don't have new part 68143491AB when parts mgr told me himself they have 8 parts in stock at that dealership alone as of 2/16/26. NHTSA is allowing Chrysler to self-regulate on this without sufficient oversight. After a year plus since first recall notice there is NO excuse why current owners should be denied available parts to fix this known major safety issue.

STEERING, SUSPENSION
There was a recall forced by the NTSB for a condition where the track bar adjustment nut would come loose and the truck would lose steering. The recall on the track bar was rectified by the dealer by welding the nut on the track bar. Now that the nut has been welded a proper alignment can not be preformed. There is no longer adjustment available due to the welded nut. The only way to properly fix this is to replace the track bar. I have had many communications with ram (stellantis) and they refuse to remedy this as they tell me they have complied with the NTSB’s resolution.

4 times in less than 4000 miles my 2026 trucks abs, cruise control, skid control, and check engine warnin07g lights have come on. I then have no anti-lock system, no cruise control, no 4-wheel drive, and no anti-skid system. Code reads-U1412. The dealer has replaced the rear speed sensors and it continues to happen. My truck is currently at the dealer in the service bay as I can't drive it. I've researched this and it's happened to many who have purchased this truck.

They canceled the appointment and put us on a waiting list. I made them aware we tow a 5th wheel trailer frequently with this truck.

Vehicle ABS malfunctions routinely. This comprises reliability and overall road safety. This recall is well over 3 years old and the manufacturer has not done enough to remedy this defect, knowing that the entire fleet shares this ABS system failure. On ice, snow and inclement weather conditions the ABS failure results in brakes locking and the vehicle going into sliding. Dodge doesn’t care about the safety of their products and as a consequence risk the safety of millions of Americans daily.
