Three days before the accident, I experienced an unusual issue with the vehicle. When I pressed the brake pedal to start the vehicle, I heard an unusual sound that I had not normally heard when starting the car. It was heard from the outside of my car and as well as I felt it on brakes as I pressed it. My neighbor was present and advised me to turn the vehicle off and restart it. After I turned the vehicle off and restarted it, the sound was no longer present. Three days later, while driving the vehicle, I attempted to apply the brakes to slow/stop, but the vehicle did not respond as expected. I pressed the brake pedal in an attempt to stop the vehicle but was unable to stop, resulting in a collision. Because of the unusual sound that occurred while pressing the brake pedal three days earlier and the subsequent loss of braking ability during the accident, I am concerned that there may have been a malfunction involving the vehicle's braking system or a related component. The accident was reported to law enforcement, and the vehicle sustained significant damage. My insurance company subsequently determined that the vehicle was a total loss. I am submitting this complaint so that the incident and the earlier warning sign can be documented and reviewed by NHTSA as a potential vehicle safety issue.

It is XXX; but back in June time frame 2026 an engine recall was called for my 2024 Nissan Rouge. Dangerous to the point that car would shut down or burst into flame with not warnings WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD AND AT ALL SPEEDS - hgwy. Nissans consumer affairs division discussed this in chat rooms with owners of the year vehicles 2023 - 2025? effected that when the engine is replaced YOU MUST ADDRESS AND CHANGE OUT THE TRANSMISSION. The vehicle is built on VCT technology - variable compression technology??. The replacement engine is so robust and apparently stronger than OME - Original Manufacture Equipment that marrying it with the OME transmission in a short period of time the engine would destroy the trans. Today only a few short months later at 5 AM traveling on XXX at max speed the trans went into LIMP MODE. Limp mode is Nissan's reference terminology I took it to the dealership where I leased it - and changed out the engine and married the anticipated trans failure - it was only a matter of time - it FAILED, the vehicle lost power, steering failed the car from 71 mph quickly slowed would not go any further it dropped speed so fast it was almost hit from behind by a tractor trailer - Nissan's consumer affairs division full well knows of the combination repair issues and NOW the dealership I brought it to, scanned the truck confirmed my worst nightmare was true that after they replaced the engine on recall AND tried to tip-toe away from a trans replacement the engine destroyed the trans and my wife was in grave danger THEY EXPECT US TO PAY $ 2,200.00 TO REPLACE THE TRANS - THEY ARE REFUSING TO PAY FOR THE REPLACMENT CAUSED BY THEM IGNORING RESPONSIBILITY. WE WANT OUT OF THIS LEASE EXPUNGE THE LEASE AGREEMENT AND STEP BACK FROM DEMANDS OF EXCESSIVE $ FOR HIGH MILAGE TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK AND PUT US INTO A NEW VEHICLE - "LEMON LAW' RECALL NOT RECTIFIED AND LIVES ARE AT RISK - CONTACT ME PLEASE [XXX] ROB MONTY - URGENT!! - #11764149September 14, 2026STEERING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While driving the steering wheel pulled to the left then shook a little after. Then it kind of pulled to the right. I kept driving and later in afternoon received email from Nissan that my Electronic Power Steering System may not be functioning properly. They recommended to have it serviced asap. Same drive, a car pulled in front of me and I did not get a verbal or audible warning regarding a possible front collision. My ADAS was repaired in August. While cars stopped at red light, I came up on a stopped vehicle purposefully and got very close. No warning again with a system that was repaired last month. No braking either.

I was merging onto a highway ramp. All of the cabin lights in my car turned on, and a message popped up on my dashboard that said "Engine Stall. Please Stop Safely." I was in the worst part of the road imaginable for this to happen. I was able to get it back up and running for just enough time to make it to the main road, then depended on gravity to get to the safest spot on the side of the road that I could find (still was not safe by any means but the best place I could be for that situation). I called a towing company, Bang's Towing, and waited for quite a while, hoping and praying that no one would hit my car. I had to inconvenience someone else to come pick me up. While waiting for the tow and for my ride, I did some research to figure out how and why this could have happened. I found out that there had been a recall issued for my car for MONTHS, for this exact issue, and I was never notified about it in any capacity. I checked my mail, both of my email addresses, my call logs, and all turned up empty. I then brought it to a Nissan dealership and it has been sitting there since that day. My point in all of this is that I was never given any sort of notification about an issue for my car which could have ended in a lot WORSE of a situation. I paid $347.80 for my car to be towed. I will be pursuing further action with Nissan to rectify but still wanted to put this on record.

I am filing this complaint regarding my 2023 Nissan Rogue due to a serious engine malfunction and concerns that a safety recall may not have been properly completed. My vehicle developed an “Engine Malfunction” warning with reduced power and became unsafe and undrivable. The vehicle had to be towed to a repair facility. An independent diagnostic performed afterward indicated a possible throttle body issue. Prior to this incident, I took the vehicle to a Nissan dealership because of an applicable recall. The dealership told me that the recall had been repaired. However, when I checked the vehicle’s recall status afterward, the recall still appeared as unrepaired/incomplete. I also was not provided adequate documentation explaining exactly what was inspected, what was repaired, or how the dealership determined that the recall was successfully completed. I am concerned that the recall-related defect may not have been properly addressed and that this could have contributed to the engine malfunction and sudden loss of power. I am requesting that NHTSA review this matter and determine whether there are other complaints involving this recall, the 2023 Nissan Rogue, loss of power/engine malfunction, or throttle-body-related problems, and whether the recall remedy is being properly performed. I can provide repair records, diagnostic information, photographs, recall information, and documentation from the Nissan dealership if needed.

The contact's son owned a 2019 Nissan Rogue. While the owner was driving and depressing the brake pedal while stopped at a red light with a friend seated in the front passenger seat, a drunk driver crashed into the rear of the vehicle. The driver’s and passenger’s seat backs reclined backwards due to the impact of the crash. The contact stated that the air bags had not deployed. The contact stated that the driver’s and passenger’s side frontal air bags should have deployed. The passenger sustained injuries to the back and later received medical assistance, underwent a CT scan, and was awaiting a diagnosis. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the Twin Creek Tow lot. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The approximate failure mileage was 149,000.

The passenger airbag is not activated. I bought car 6/11/26 and I don’t believe there was a problem or I did not notice it. I saw online that there was an airbag problem recall in the past.

THE POWER REAR LIFT GATE FAILED TO CLOSE WHEN I WAS OUT SHOPPING. I HAD TO PUSH IT DOWN HARD. IT ALSO NO LONGER OPENS WHEN THE OPEN BUTTON IS PRESSED. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER TO GET IT REPAIRED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE DRIVE UNIT-POWER BACK DOOR, LH 2. I PAID $1,534.54 FOR THE REPAIR. I NOTICED THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. NHTSA ID NUMBER: 16V219000. BUT MY VIN OR LICENSE NUMBER DOES NOT SHOW A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM.

YES. 9/4/2026 I WENT TO GET IN THE VEHICLE THAT WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NOTICED THE BACK GLASS WAS SHATTERED I ATTEMPTED TO SEARCH THE CAR FOR BASEBALLS OR ROCKS NO EVIDENCE OF FOUL PLAY WAS FOUND AND WHEN I SHUT THE DOOR WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE THE WHOLE BACK GLASS CAVED IN. I WAS TOLD THE ROGUE HAS A DEFECTIVE BACK GLASS AND I AM THANKFUL I WAS NOT GOING DOWN THE HWY AT 70 MPH W MY CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT AS THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS. IT SAID HIGH TEMPS CAN BURST THE GLASS AND IT WAS 100 DEGREES THE DAY THE GLASS SHATTERED BUT WE OWN OTHER VEHICLES THAT WITHHELD THAT TYPE OF TEMP. I DONT THINK THIS IS FAIR I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO REPLACE THE GLASS WHEN MY VEHICLE IS UNDER MANUFACTURS WARRANTY ONLY HAVING 20K MILES ON THE VEHICLE IM A VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER W NISSAN.

Nissan rouge was inspected for recall 26V080, engine bearing Failures. A few months later the engine bearings failed. My wife was driving the vehicle alone, 5 days after having a pacemaker implanted when the bearings/engine failed. The vehicle would move slowly with fits and starts and randomly shutdown and then have to be restarted. This was clearly a danger to my wife and other vehicles on the road with her. Luckily a sheriff came along, saw the danger of the situation and escorted my wife home. CLEARLY, Nissans actions to inspect and reprogram the ECM do not work in preventing this failure. Nissan must be forced to go back to dropping the oil pan and inspecting it for debris. This cost me $200 in towing fees and stranded us in [XXX] for 2 weeks with a cost that I have yet to calculate. Had the oil pan been inspected we could have avoided the dangerous situation my wife found herself in and it would have been repaired in [XXX] where we live. While driving at speed with a newborn infant in the vehicle, my 2023 Nissan Rogue suffered a sudden and catastrophic engine failure related to NHTSA Recall 26V080000. The vehicle suddenly produced a heavy burning smell, thick white smoke, and the engine completely seized and died while actively in motion. This resulted in an immediate, terrifying loss of motive power on a live roadway, trapping myself and my infant in a hazardous situation. The violent, sudden engine seizure also delivered a terminal mechanical shock that destroyed the transmission. Nissan is currently refusing 100% accountability, trying to charge me a 30% split for the transmission damage directly caused by this life-threatening defect.

On September 6, 2026, the rear liftgate window of my 2023 Nissan Rogue SV AWD was discovered completely shattered while the vehicle was parked. The vehicle had been parked since approximately 7:00 a.m. and was not being driven when the glass failure occurred. There had been no known collision or prior damage to the rear glass. When the vehicle was discovered, the rear window was shattered throughout. We did not identify an obvious impact point or object that would explain the breakage. The rear wiper remained attached and there was no other apparent damage to the liftgate. Because the glass failure occurred while the vehicle was stationary and without a known impact, I am reporting this as a potential safety defect involving the rear liftgate glass. Had this occurred while the vehicle was being driven, shattered glass could have entered the passenger or cargo area and created a safety hazard. I have photographs documenting the condition of the vehicle and broken glass.

The Specific Defect: My vehicle has two active federal safety recalls: NHTSA Campaign 26V080 (internal engine bearing failure causing a severe knock) and NHTSA Campaign 26V081 (electronic throttle body malfunction). The Dealer Violations: Nissan McDonough officially diagnosed the engine as faulty but refused to execute the free engine replacement under the campaign. Nissan South Morrow attempted to charge me retail out-of-pocket prices for the recalled throttle body, they did not replace it, they only conducted the OMC (?) The service manager explicitly refused the recall by claiming a code for a "throttle valve door" is not covered under the throttle body assembly campaign. Federal law explicitly mandates that when an active safety recall is present, manufacturers and their franchise dealers must complete the repair without charge and frame. I used my Rouge for my courier services and I am contract by two companies Aerospace and Airspace and I am in danger of losing my contacts. I have lost 10 days of wages thus far. Can you please assist me.
