SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, POWER TRAIN
1) Transmission sticks and doesn't shift at higher speeds, had dealer look at could not replicate. I have had many instances of this happening. Safety issue is this usually happens when accelerating to get on freeway or passing someone and then I need to back off gas pedal to get it to change gears 2) Anti collision warning goes on for no reason - has not engaged brakes. Safety issue is both times I hit the brakes thinking i was going to hit something but there was nothing in front of me.- will talk with dealer service manager this week 3) Anti lock brakes engaged at a normal stop - this could have caused an accident. I was able to stop car going into intersection by slamming breaks on - this has happened twice. Huge safety issue as I was entering a intersection and had trouble stopping the car. will talk with dealer service manager this week

SERVICE BRAKES, ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Unknown. In a span of 15 minutes, I encountered 3 events in traffic where accidents could've occurred. I was in the middle turning lane, completely stopped. I tried to accelerate and start left turn when the car shut down, all lights on dashboard lit up. There's an alert saying push P (park) and restart engine. It took 2 or 3 times of trying to get the car to start. Once started the engine and oil lights came on. They went off soon after. Luckily, the car stopped before the turn started or there may have been an accident. I continue my drive down the street, come to an intersection where I slowly brake, the front passenger tire hit a pothole and the car slid into intersection (my foot still on the brake) instead of coming to a compete stop before the intersection. Again, accident avoided only because the oncoming traffic passed before car slid forward. Lastly, trying to get home safely and shaken badly, I come to another intersection. I'm the first car with 4 cars behind me. I'm completely stopped at a red light. The light turns green, I attempt to accelerate to move through light and the car shuts down again. All lights on dashboard light up, the emergency brake is automatically engaged and I spend the light cycle trying to get the car to restart. I had to release the emergency parking brake, put car in park, try to push start button. Last steps repeated more than once. Thank goodness the cars behind me were paying attention and didn't drive based on the light being green. There was no warning for any of these events. It was extremely scary and I don't trust the car to drive it further. I'm having it towed to the dealership for inspection. This is a 2025 with 636 miles on it and about 8 incidents regarding safety since purchased less than 2 months ago.

I can come to a complete stop and then will notice the car start to inch forward with foot still on brake which then, I’ll push foot down as far as it’ll go to stop car again. I’ll brake, stop car, put it into park and the entire car will jerk forward. I’m nervous this is going to cause an accident. The car is 2025 with ~600 miles. This is a daily issue since purchase. Appointment scheduled with dealership but they never seem to find anything.

Unknown. Sometimes this car slightly shakes, you hear faint noises/knocking, and feel vibrating in the floor of the car when beginning to accelerate or towards ending of deceleration. Passengers in second and third row can feel and hear it as well. Will be getting this checked by dealership. This is new car 2025 with ~600 miles and it’s an issue since purchase.

Unknown. I was exiting the freeway onto off ramp, was slowing down to break for a line of cars at a red light and the car shut off and stopped before i came to a complete stop on my own. All lights on dashboard lit up. The dash said the engine is off and to push the P (park) and restart engine. I had to do this quickly twice before car actually started, as traffic started to move. Luckily, a collision in the front and back was avoided but this was extremely unsafe and unexpected. Now I’m scared to drive this car. After car started, the engine and oil lights came on then went off within a few seconds. Appointment scheduled for dealership diagnostic testing.

Unknown. Twice while trying to accelerate onto highway on ramp, the car did not go faster immediately as expected. It didn’t pick up speed. I’m trying to go from 35 to 60 and there’s a delay from the time I step on gas until the car actually go faster. It didn’t stall or shut off. If someone was behind me, I fear i would have been rear ended. Dealership said diagnostic test was fine and unable to reproduce. They reset computer and said it must be my driving. Car had ~310 miles.

When driving our brakes are spongy, downhill braking control gets disabled and tells us to control our speed even when going speed limit and below. Increased braking distance is needed, brakes are to the floor. When taken in for this concern we were met with, no issues noted on inspection. The brakes are getting worse and we feel as though this is a hazard for driving.

My 2020 vehicle stopped on me while I was driving on the interstate! Beforehand, I had no issues with the vehicle driving or otherwise. The alternator has gone out on it! There was no prior warning. It just stopped while I was driving and I was stranded for hours! I’m a female. It’s costing me hundreds of dollars for a fairly new car!

I am reporting a recurring and hazardous issue with my 2024 Hyundai Palisade. When driving over uneven or bumpy surfaces—such as city streets with potholes, manhole covers, or brick pavement—the braking system fails to respond appropriately. Despite applying the brakes at low speeds (approximately 25 mph or less), the vehicle does not decelerate as expected. This results in extended stopping distances of approximately 15–20 feet, posing a significant risk of collisions or harm to pedestrians. This issue has occurred multiple times under various conditions, including dry roads and moderate temperatures. There are no warning lights or error messages displayed on the dashboard during these incidents.

My brakes are intermittently disengaging during bumps and potholes. I experience a rattling undercarriage and pedal vibration. Sometimes I must crank the steering wheel to regain braking. This poses an immediate safety risk to myself and others. The service advisor mentioned other customers coming in for the same issue. I have had my car in three times for this issue but they’ve never been able to replicate the issue. It has been an ongoing issue since the inception of the lease but has gotten progressively worse. This is a life-threatening issue.

Vehicle Safety Concern - Unintended Vehicle Movement Vehicle Information: 2024 Hyundai Palisade Incident Date: XXXXXXX Location: Commissary parking lot in [XXX] Incident Description: On XXXXXXX my wife parked our Hyundai Palisade in a designated parking space at the commissary. She properly engaged the parking gear selection and turned off the engine. After opening the rear hatch to retrieve shopping bags and securely closing it, she proceeded into the commissary to shop. Upon returning approximately 15 minutes later, she discovered the vehicle was no longer in its original parking position. The Palisade had rolled away from where it was parked and collided with a parked 2018 Toyota Sienna, resulting in property damage to both vehicles. Actions Taken: Due to concerns about a potential mechanical defect that may have caused this unintended vehicle movement, we immediately contacted Hyundai customer service. We have since scheduled and completed diagnostic inspections at two separate Hyundai dealerships. Both dealerships performed comprehensive diagnostics but reported finding no mechanical issues. Safety Concerns: This incident represents a significant safety hazard. The unintended movement of our vehicle in a parking lot could have resulted in serious injury to pedestrians or other motorists. We are deeply concerned about the potential for this incident to recur and cause harm to others. Request for Investigation: We respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this matter to determine if there is a systemic safety defect in the Hyundai Palisade that could cause unintended vehicle movement when properly parked. When braking on uneven surface like gravel, bumps, ect. The vehicle may shutter and continue lurching forward. Takes around double the stopping distance expected and has been close to accidents multiple times. This has happened many times since purchasing the vehicle brand new in 7/2024. No warning lights or messages pop up when this is happening. We took the vehicle in for inspection around 2/2025 but they could not replicate the issue so didn't even look at the parts for any concern. No other person has examined the vehicle besides the dealer on that visit. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Is definitely a danger to drive in good road conditions but very concerning to drive in rain or snow with not knowing if the brakes will perform or not.

SERVICE BRAKES
I will drive at low speeds (on residential or approaching stop light) and start pressing my brakes and then the car starts violently shaking and DOES NOT STOP… it keeps rolling forward. I lose brake power. The longest distance I’ve went without brakes working was 20 feet. I have little children and bought this car for safety features. I feel extremely unsafe. The problem is intermittent and Hyundai doesn’t know how to fix the issue because they stated there is no “check engine lights or codes” popping up. Very dangerous. This is going to get people killed. They need to recall Hyundai palisades for brake issues.

The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at 5 MPH from making a right turn and attempting to stop the vehicle for a traffic light, with the brake pedal depressed all the way to the floorboard, and the vehicle failed to stop. As a result, the vehicle crashed into the rear of the vehicle in front before coming to a complete stop. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. A police report was not filed, and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

I recently purchased a Hyundai vehicle and discovered that the previous owner still has full access to the vehicle’s Bluelink system. This includes remote start/stop, vehicle tracking, horn/lights, and other controls. Despite contacting Hyundai support and proving ownership, they still have not revoked or disabled this access. I am unable to override or reset the system myself. This poses a serious safety concern, because an unauthorized individual can: •Remotely disable the vehicle while in motion or parked, •Track my exact real-time location, or •Manipulate vehicle functions without my knowledge or consent. This is not a one-off issue. Hyundai has no effective system in place to guarantee owner control or revoke prior access, which leaves other buyers vulnerable too. This constitutes a design flaw in connected vehicle control systems, not just an isolated customer service problem.

SERVICE BRAKES
At mid to low speeds when pressing the brakes, I can feel excessive shaking and vibration when going over uneven roads. I’m located in Queens, New York so you can imagine the roads aren’t the smoothest. However not speaking of pot holes or anything like that just any uneven surface bump. It causes the brakes to feel like ABS kicking on but no abs lights or anything just the feeling. I only feel it on low to mid speeds probably because faster speeds usually indicate highway driving and it’s usually pretty smooth when going those speeds.
