On July 16, 2025 in stop and go traffic on I55 the cra failed to stop at 5mph. The road was bumpy on an overpass. I attempted to stop the car. The brake pedal was hard and would depress. The accident avoidance system kicked on right before it was about to hit the car in front of me and stopped the car. After that the car braked fine. It did again on July 22, 2025 on a bumpy road. It felt like the car couldn't tell it was suppose to stop on the bumpy road. Almost ran a red light into oncoming traffic as the car only stopped once the road was no longer bumpy. That is hard when living in the Chicago area and the roads are terrible. Dealership claims there is nothing wrong with the car.

Approaching main hwy very slowly to stop. Prior to stopping the car started shaking & Making the horrible load noise. it was a terrifying exerpience. took it to Wallace Hyundai today where we purchased it new. Told them what happened, they stated it was Probably the ABS brakes. No solution, could not repeat what had happened, I told service Person it felt like 4 flat tires running over bricks. I was scared . HYUNDAI said let them know if it happens again …..

VISIBILITY/WIPER
While driving at highway speeds, the sunroof spontaneously shattered. No rocks/debris were found to have caused the sunroof to shatter and we were not manipulating the sunroof in any manner. Luckily, the manually operated internal sunroof cover was in place, or more shattered glass could have entered the two front seats which were occupied. We could have ingested shards of glass, been cut by flying glass, or shards could have entered our eyes, causing a major incident/accident. We could have panicked and swerved aggressively, as the incident was loud and shocking, causing an accident to either us or the surrounding highway traffic. The closest manufacturers shop to the incident did not have the replacement part on hand, so we had to wait until we returned home for replacement parts. The problem was reported to the dealer and the manufacturer inspected the shattered sunroof. Since this is a relatively new vehicle (2024) with appx. 22,000 miles, the manufacturer is covering the repair as a warranty item, no need for an insurance claim. No police report was filed/needed. No warning lamps, annunciations, or aural alerts were heard/visible prior to the sunroof failure.

SERVICE BRAKES, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Yesterday [XXX] the car basically failed to stop when I braked and was nearly hit by the approaching vehicle. I immediately called the service dept of the dealer and taking it in for diagnostics. No warning lights ever popped on. So what happened is I was getting on to the road from the parking lot and started braking to wait for the approaching cars to pass but instead of stopping all I got was vibrations and shaking all while not stopping. The car got almost half body length out on the road making the approaching cars swerve and honk at me. The only way I managed to stop it was stomping on the brakes as hard as I could, which worked. But it freaked me out and sent my kid in tears cuz the stopping was so violent. I am aware of the ABS issue with these models and experienced it 5-6 times before but never it was a near collision situation and especially with the kid on board. I called the dealer right away and am taking the car in for diagnostics. I told them about the issue and history of similar events but all I heard back was “oh, sorry it happened, come in for a diag. We have never heard of it.” We all know by now about the faulty ABS system in Palisade and the class action was just filed against Hyundai last month. ABS system engages when it shouldn’t, causing stopping problems. Caused my wife to run out in middle of intersection and not get stopped in time. This seems to be a common problem with this vehicle and nobody knows how to fix it

When coming to low speed stops at stop signs over uneven/SLIGHTLY bumpy roads, brakes rumble uncontrollably and resist stopping, thrusting my car past stop signs into oncoming traffic. This has happened SEVERAL times, thankfully without accident, and is extremely scary. It MUST be addressed!

The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to stop, and the vehicle was shaking and slid until stopping. The contact stated that the failure had occurred several times. The contact was fearful of driving the vehicle due to the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact was informed that a complaint had been filed on behalf of the contact with the manufacturer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500.

The Palisade has been intermittently acting up approaching a stop and the pedal pulsates and pedal travel is much longer, stopping distance is lengthened but when all of this is going on, not one light or warning is shown. No ABS light, TRAC light or Skid light is illuminated.

SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
On [XXX] at [XXX} I was exiting [XXX] using the [XXX] exit. As I approached the end of the ramp at approximately 15 miles per hour, the Automatic Braking System engaged unexpectedly. There were no warning lights on the dashboard. The road conditions were dry. The vehicle was not stopping, and I came within inches of rear ending the vehicle in front of me at the red light. I contacted McGovern Hyundai in Wilmington, MA, and a service appointment is scheduled for 7/21. The vehicle has approximately 5,000 miles. Over the last week my Palisade has kicked on the ABS brake feature which has resulted in the vehicle to not stop timely. This was on a flat, paved road and was no reason for this feature to kick on. It has nearly resulted in an accident. We have brought to dealer and reported the issue but seems to be a more wide spread issue than we thought after doing some research online.

My 2022 Hyundai Palisade has repeatedly shut off while coming to a stop. The vehicle stalls unexpectedly, dashboard lights illuminate as if the vehicle is being restarted, and the gear sometimes shifts into neutral. I have to manually restart the car to resume driving. This issue has occurred multiple times under normal driving conditions—both when the Idle Stop & Go (ISG) system is enabled and disabled. The frequency of these stalls has increased, and they present a dangerous situation, especially at intersections or during heavy traffic. After researching online, I found that numerous 2020–2022 Palisade owners have reported the same symptoms. Many of them were told by their dealers that an ECU and/or TCU software update was needed. This suggests a broader systemic issue with the vehicle’s powertrain management system, which should warrant further investigation. As of now, no recall has been issued, but this is a recurring issue that poses a risk to driver and passenger safety. Hyundai has not officially acknowledged a recall or permanent fix, but affected vehicles are being patched with software updates at the dealer level.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
We have had two chips in the windshield in approximately 7 months of ownership, which have resulted in spiderweb type cracks in the windshield. One of the cracks is in the field of view for the driver which creates an impairment/distraction. I believe that the windshield may be defective based on the numerous reports of this issue that I have researched on the internet.

SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
On June 30th, I turn right, into a parking lot. I take an immediate left and pull up to a stop sign at the end of a fast food driveway. There is about a 30 ft distance between turning right off of the main road and stopping at the stop sign. While attempting to brake, they lock up and skid. I have a scared foster child in the car. I was unable to brake, only using my right foot. I have to apply pressure to finally be able to get it to stop, with my left foot as well. While doing this, I hit my left, big toenail on the brake pedal and rip half of it off. Upon a quick Google search, looking for issues with the brakes, I discover that there is a current lawsuit for 2023-2025 Palisade models for ABS and traction control issues. Clearly this is a reoccurring issue. I take my brand new car into the Hyundai service department to have a look at the brakes. They see nothing wrong.

SERVICE BRAKES
ABS not working property. Breaks will skip and pulse when breaking at low speeds on uneven roads or small bumps resulting in longer distance to break. Hyundai service states no known issue with 2025 ABS and states I would have to pay to have it looked at. I bought it in March 2025 and issue started one week ago.
