Engine consuming extra oil due to failed piston ring. Also, may be the cause of a coolant failure code. Burning through excessive oil and check engine light came on. Also, prior to these warnings, I've felt hesitation when accelerating and when the car changes gears. I was told by a shop that I need a new engine. This causes a dangerous situation because the car could just stop working while driving or in traffic.

Received a safety recall notice for my 2014 Acadia due to a faulty airbag in June 2023 and GMC still hasn't provided a fix. The noticed states- the front-driver airbag inflator may contain a supplier manufacturing defect that may result in inflator rupture during deployment. An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag and into the vehicle interior, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants. It has been almost a year since the notice was mailed and posted and this is not a matter that has been corrected in a timely matter.

This is regarding a safety recall and no parts being available at this time. I have contacted GM and the Bergstrom dealership multiple times without receiving answers. The original letter I received was from 6/2023. Please let me know if there is anything that can be done - GM should have to provide parts within a timely manner - 8 months and counting is far from acceptable when the letter states "may cause injury or death".

- #11571360February 12, 2024UNKNOWN OR OTHER, BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING
I owned a 2019 GMC Acadia Denali with surround vision system (rear camera). In December 2023, my rear camera went out and almost caused me to hit someone while backing up. I don't totally depend on the rear camera when backing, but this time when I turned around to look if anything was behind me I didn't see no one. I took my vehicle to the dealer to get it checked out and to repair it. They found that the vision process module was bad. The technician found that the vpm had internal malfunction and corrosion due to water intrusion damaging vpm completely. found code B101D for internal failure and not responding to any programming or commands. Replaced vision processing module at a cost of $1348.90. I wrote to GM explaining the problem and request reimbursement. As of today, no response from GM. There has been a recall on my vehicle for 9 months and there is still not a resolution from GM. I have called every dealer near me to try and have this recall fixed as it is a major safety hazard. I could be seriously injured or killed if this is not fixed. GM says that do not yet have a resolution and this isn’t okay!

The shift to park displays and will not allow the vehicle to shut off. This is the second time this has happened in this vehicle. I have 63822 miles and repaired this same issue about 20000 miles ago. Looked into it and it appeared to be a common issue in this year and model. Looking for some insight on what if anything can b me done.thank you

My 2019 GMC Acacia SLT would not go into park to allow me to shut off my vehicle. It ran for over an hour before it finally went into park. This was dangerous as I had a young child to pick up in a busy part of town and I had to leave it running to try to get help. With a 3 year old child this was crazy. This is not the first time it has done this. My car had a recall and whomever fixed it didn’t do it. I feel this needs to be fixed properly now.

The contact owns a 2008 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the battery had previously been replaced; however, the battery failed to retain a charge. The contact had to recharge the battery every day to start the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that water had leaked from the windshield and cowl to behind the glovebox, causing the battery to fail; however, no repair was recommended. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

Vehicle in a motor vehicle accident, hit from behind with great force. Airbags did not deploy. Three occupants in vehicle. The frame was easily damaged of the vehicle causing it to be totaled out. This VIN was not marked apart of recall but yet it does show it is. Recall was reported a week prior to incident unknowingly at the time of incident. Vehicle was hit at a stop red light by a Chevy suburban that drove away. The airbags should have went off. There is video image from local city traffic cam to show the hit. Good brakes though. Was able to hold onto the brakes and not hit the vehicle in front of me. Vehicle is at local salvage lot as of 2/8/24 and you may be able to grab it before it’s parted out or reconstructed.

The rack unit is going out. It makes the vehicle suddenly jerk to the left at highway speeds. It could cause a collision if there is a car on the left or a head on collision if on a two lane road. It also increases the amount of force needed to steer at low speeds. I took to the mechanic and was told that it needed to be replaced and would be 2500+ dollars to repair it and that they could not do the repair their only recommendation was to take it to the dealer. So GM is not wanting to issue a recall because it would cost them a lot of money to fix it.
