- #11771819October 17, 2026SERVICE BRAKES
I was driving home after dark from a work trip. I was about 15 minutes from home when I slammed on my brakes to avoid hitting a deer that ran out in front of me. I was going approximately 45 miles an hour. Then all of the brake warning lights and ABS Fault lights came on. I was able to get home with no problem and though it might have just been because of the sudden brake application and it would clear at the next drive. When I went to drive my truck next, I had no brakes and the pedal went to the floor. I started looking and found a puddle of brake fluid under my truck. I used to be a mechanic, so I started to trouble shoot the problem and found that a wire mesh covered flexible section of the brake line feeding the front passenger wheel brake caliper had a blow out and is what had failed. Although my 2021 F-150 is out of warranty, a 5 year old well maintained truck shouldn't have a brake line fail and I think I was luck to get home safe. I had my truck towed to the local Ford dealership for the repair. They did a thorough examination and could find a reason for the failure and agreed that it shouldn't have failed and that they had never seen anything like it before.

This complaint is regarding the failure and inadequacy of the safety remedy for Ford Safety Recall 26S28 (NHTSA Campaign Number 24V237000) on my 2017 Ford F-150. My vehicle was brought to an authorized Ford dealership one month ago to satisfy Recall 26S28 due to an intermittent loss of the transmission output speed sensor signal (DTC P0722), which causes sudden, unexpected downshifts on the highway. The dealership performed the mandated PCM software update but refused to replace the physically failing molded leadframe hardware. The safety recall remedy has failed. The physical component has degraded further, and the vehicle is once again dropping the transmission speed sensor signal (Code P0722) while in motion, forcing the truck into limp mode on active roadways. Ford Motor Company corporate customer service and their authorized dealer network are actively refusing to replace the physical molded leadframe, (Case Ref: CXH09624298), claiming the recall only mandates a software flash for this specific code. By refusing to replace the physically failing internal transmission hardware, Ford is leaving an unsafe vehicle on the road. The software patch is an inadequate safety remedy that does not prevent the underlying electronic components from failing while driving at highway speeds.

The VVT Cam Phasers had a " consumer satisfaction program" that didnt include my VIN but included the year which was 2017-2021 3.5 ECOBOOST engine that mine has. The program has now expired and my truck has this exact issue. Not fixing the issue can cause engine failure. My truck has 47k miles on it. I called Ford back in XXX to file a compliant and nothing happened. I took my truck to Germain Ford in [XXX] to get a diagnostic done October 5,2026 and they said it was the VVT cam phasers. I called Ford XXX again about the issue and they said my VIN wasn't included and there was nothing they could do. This is absolutely absurd they are ignoring an ongoing issue and they refuse to do anything about this. I will continue to fight until something is done. This repair is costing me $4400. This is where you can help. Please make them do the right thing and reimburse me and I'm sure so many others their money. Thank you, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

This vehicle is equipped with the 10 speed transmission that is know to have issues that Ford refuses to resolve. The shifting in my vehicle has become delayed and rough to the point that it is dangerous to drive. Ford says the only recourse is to have the transmission replaced or rebuilt which will cost several thousand dollars.

I had recall 26S28 performed on my 2015 Ford F150. The intent of the recall is to prevent the transmission from unexpectedly shifting into second gear while at highway speed. Immediately after the recall service was performed, the transmission will fail to shift into low gear after coming to a stop before the vehicle is fully warmed up. Pulling away from a stop is very slow (transmission is in a high gear). This creates a traffic safety hazard if there is traffic approaching at an intersection or while merging into traffic. Other vehicles have to brake to avoid me. The servicing dealer has reproduced this problem, but Ford is unwilling to remedy it. There is an orange wrench symbol on the dashboard when this happens. The transmission performed normally under all conditions before this recall service was performed.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission would downshift to first gear as both the traction control and check engine warning lights would appear on the instrument panel. The contact used purchased a scanner which gave him a code for P0720(Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit). Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the vehicle was under recall for NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V237000(Power Train). The contact called two separate dealers where he was informed by both that the manufacturer had placed a pause on the recall remedy after they discovered that the software remedy did not repair the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 182,000.

- #11771529October 15, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
On 10/13/2026, driving about 25 mph on a city street, my truck entered failsafe with no prior warning lamps or symptoms. The PCM cut most engine power, leaving no acceleration, and set P1285 (CHT Overtemp Sensed) and P1299 (CHT Overtemp Protection Active). The engine was not overheating; a $40 CHT sensor fixed it. Evidence: I watched live data on an Autel MaxiCheck MX808S-TS while driving during the events. CHT dropped to implausibly low values for brief moments, then immediately returned to normal values matching coolant temp. Coolant temp stayed normal throughout. Failsafe triggered on these momentary dropouts, never on an actual high reading. The PCM logic is unsafe: 1. A low-reading sensor dropout was reported as an overtemp. The PCM set two overtemp codes and no sensor circuit code. 2. It ignored contradicting data. CHT recovered instantly and matched normal coolant temp, yet the PCM acted on one momentary bad reading. 3. The response was disproportionate. A sensor glitch with normal coolant temp should set a check engine light and circuit code, not remove engine power while driving. 4. It creates a crash risk. Losing acceleration in city traffic, amid chimes and flashing warnings, left me unable to keep pace or maneuver and caused anxiety and distraction. 5. False overtemp codes mislead owners. A typical owner would likely need a tow and a costly cooling system diagnosis over a $40 sensor glitch. Even as a former mechanic, I spent hours chasing a nonexistent cooling problem. Not inspected by a dealer, manufacturer, police or insurance. I diagnosed it with live scan data and confirmed it by replacing the sensor. The original sensor is retained and available for inspection. I ask NHTSA to investigate the CHT failsafe strategy on Ford 2.7L EcoBoost engines: whether the PCM checks CHT plausibility against coolant temp before cutting power, and whether a single-sensor fault should ever remove engine power while driving.

- #11771031October 14, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Driving on two lane road, approximatly 45-55 mph, collision warning on dash and audiable message to avoid impending accident. There was no obstruction in the road. Has happened two times in the past 4 months. Once in daylight with clear weather, once nighttime and light rain. Both times temperature was 60-70 deg F. Concerned it could also apply the brakes accourding to Fords information. I have not had the problem diagnosed since it happens so infrequently.

My Ford F150 is part of the recall 26S28 for the PCM transmission reprogramming and the transmission lead frame recall . There is now a current pause on the recall according to my Ford dealership. My truck was scheduled for replacement and now it’s been cancelled. My truck is experiencing surges like I’m being hit from behind and also gear shifts changing. I am now afraid of loosing control of my vehicle. I don’t know what to do next

On October 14, 2026, while traveling approximately 75 mph on an interstate highway, the front panoramic sunroof glass on my 2025 Ford F-150 Tremor suddenly and violently shattered without any apparent impact. The sunroof was fully closed, and the interior sunshade was fully open. There was an extremely loud, gunshot-like explosion without any preceding sound of an object striking the vehicle or other warning signs. Most of the front glass panel blew upward and outward, leaving a large opening in the roof. Fractured glass remained attached around the perimeter, and glass fragments entered the passenger compartment, landing on the seats, center console, and floor. This sudden failure created a significant safety hazard at highway speed, including the risk of injury from flying glass and the potential for driver distraction or loss of vehicle control. Fortunately, the incident did not result in a collision. The cause of the failure is unknown. Photographs taken immediately afterward document the extensive glass loss, remaining fractured glass, and debris inside the vehicle. No obvious impact point is identifiable in the photographs. I am concerned about a potential defect involving the panoramic sunroof glass or its installation, particularly given similar reports of sudden sunroof failures involving Ford F-150 vehicles. I request that NHTSA investigate this potential safety-related defect. The vehicle has not yet been inspected or repaired, and the remaining damaged glass is currently available for inspection.

2016 F150 with 6R80 transmission problem it had got worse after Ford 26S28/NHTSA 26V237 was done at Ford Dealership just days before Recall we put on hold and Ford then was recommended it not to be done.Safety risk is transmission down shifts hard and sometimes delays in shift commands. After recall done on 9/23/2026 it also derates, goes to limp mode in intersections and freeway.Check engine and wrench lights comes on.It’s been at dealership since 10/08/2026 because it is unsafe to drive in my opinion.Dealership has driven it and verbally told me over the phone, they drove it and my details and complaints are there. The dealership is telling me they have to get a specific code to replace components under the Customer Satisfaction Program 26N04, which their saying is not there.Even though all the symptoms and problems and unsafe drivability is there even after Recall 26S28 was done and was even put on hold because in my opinion made it a lot worse.Check engine light on because of transmission problems and wrench light on because of transmission problem.I have a letter stating if after Recall was done and problems still exists to contact Dealership and Ford RAC Center, which I did.The letter says replace part because of codes if present, but also says if vehicle exhibits conditions dealers are to replace the transmission molded Leadframe after Safety Recall 26S28 has been completed, but dealership says it can’t do, even after the day I drove home after having Recall 26S28 all exhibits for Leadframe got worse.
