SummarySome 2020-2023 Ford and Lincoln SYNC3 equipped vehicles may experience an inaccurate notification in the FordPassî/LincolnWayî app indicating Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode. Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode message is expected if the vehicle has not been started for 14 consecutive days, battery voltage is at/below 9.5 volts or the body control module (BCM) 12 volt battery state of charge (SoC) drops below 50%. If the vehicle is going into deep sleep outside these conditions, this may be due to the telematics control unit (TCU) software. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the TCU to the latest software. For claiming, use causal part 14G229 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

SummarySome 2017-2023 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with a 10R60/10R80/10R80 MHT/10R100 transmission may exhibit a whine noise at idle and/or while driving. This may be identified as coming from the bellhousing and the front of the transmission fluid pan. The whine noise may become louder when the transmission is at operating temperature and may increase with engine revolutions per minute (RPM) in the park (P) position. A small amount of whine noise is considered to be characteristic of the 10R60/10R80/10R80 MHT/10R100 transmissions due to the offset gear drivetrain in the front support and has no effect on durability.

SummarySome 2021-2022 Transit vehicles may exhibit a rear door that does not open or close correctly. The vehicle may also exhibit a condition of the rear door swinging all the way open. This may be due to the rear door switch. Inform customers the operation of the rear door switch has been updated in the Ownerôs Manual. Refer Ownerôs Manual (HTML), section Doors and Locks > Operating the doors from outside your vehicle > Opening and Closing the Doors. If the rear door switch is not damaged but the issue is still present, remove the switch and inspect the internal latch system. Remove the rear door panel and the plastic shield, with a hooked hand tool unclip the lock switch from inside the door and push down the top and the bottom clip to release the switch. To reinsert the switch, position it in the neutral stage and push it into the door.

SummarySome 2022-2023 Transit/E-Transit vehicles may experience an inaccurate air discharge temperature when the EATC is operating in auto or manual mode and the temperature set to 60ðF (15.5ðC) or above. During this condition, the system commands full or mostly heat and the air discharge temperature will only reduce in the LO setting. This may be due to calibration in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) module. Engineering is aware of the concern and is currently working on a solution, expected in 2nd Quarter 2023. Inform the customer that Ford is currently investigating this concern and they can continue to drive the vehicle. Monitor OASIS for updates.

SummaryThis article supersedes TSB 22-2271 to update the vehicle model years affected. Some 2015-2023 Transit vehicles equipped with rear wheel drive (RWD), single rear wheel (only), and U-joints at the transmission flange and rear driveshaft may experience a boom/hum/moan noise from the rear while driving. This noise is most noticeable at highway speeds: 112-121 km/h (70-75 mph) for 4.10 axle ratio 121-128 km/h (75-80 mph) for 3.73 axle ratio 136-145 km/h (85-90 mph) for 3.31 axle ratio The noise may also be present to a lesser degree at roughly half of the noted speeds. This may be due to a 2nd order driveline frequency transmitted through the rear driveshaft, rear axle and into the body through the leaf springs. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to install a driveshaft torsional damper. NOTE: The torsional damper will not resolve a vibration.
