The contact stated that she would lose control of the vehicle while attempting to engage the parking brake with the check engine and a brake sensor warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed with a failure with the power brake assist. The contact was informed that the power brake assist needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number 24V104000 (Electronic Stability Control, Service Brakes) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. I was given the notice in February 2024 that there was an issue with the integrated brake system and as of today June 4,2024 the dealer states they do not have the parts to fix the issue. It has been 4 months driving a car that is potentially unsafe due to Integrated Brake system. Please advise when BMW is required to have the problem fixed.

During the parking of the vehicle (gearbox shifter in “Park Position") and after turning off the engine, the iDrive system shows the following message: “Secure vehicle with parking brake and have the problem checked by dealership. This happens when I start up the vehicle in park and when turning off the vehicle. Also, when the vehicle is parked on level ground the error will remain even if the parking brake is applied. After turning on the engine again and putting the shifter either in R or D position, the error goes away. Dealership error computer diagnostic shows the code “420106” - Shift Lock solenoid: Selector lever wrongly not locked in Park. I shared with the dealership that this is a manufacturer problem and if they could fix it for free or give me a discount to fix the problem due to safety issues and I was told “No” I have to pay the total cost to repair this problem. Currently I am still driving a vehicle that can increase my risk of injury and the injury of bystanders. I purchased this vehicle after I retired because BMW makes good vehicles and this would be the last car I would purchase in my life.

it all started with the Battery and Powertrain and lound Loud niose from under my vehicle and my rear tail light code default. service forgetting to put the clamps back on i took the vehicle back from service and drove over 200 miles when the code for the above mention malfuntion appeared again they admitted the negilence of the service team...from that point on they my car was in and out of service for weeks at a time from September 2023 until Febuary 2024. I endlessly tried to resovle reimbursement and prove my vehicle was unsafe to drive and manufacture defects. i also consulted corporate several times submitting claim and nothing was esculated or followed up. listed below are the issues I have experienced on sevaral trips in my vehicle.I am in panic state each and every time I drive this vehicle. the codes and invetigation numbers are associted with the creen shots I obtained with the service machanics virtual video of my visits: 10228427 B220222 10177616 B010419 10176377 B610520 10228428 B120723 1024907 B611305 10178993 B160319 My Request would be a Brand Buy Back or my Rights for claim under Indiana lemon law consumer act.

SEAT BELTS
I got my BMW X1 in December of 2020 and currently has 21,000 miles. I've notice unusual wear and tear on the driver side seatbelt so I brought it into the dealer but all they said was that it needs to be replaced. I don't think this is a normal wear and tear because as I've said, I only drove this vehicle for 21,000 miles. The tear is expanding and I believe this can be a serious safety issue during an accident or sudden stops. I was concerned if this was an issue to similar vehicles or if it's just my vehicle.

POWER TRAIN
Warning light comes on stating “Secure Vehicle Against Rolling” when vehicle is in park. I called BMW and took the vehicle in the next morning. The BMW dealership stated the GEAR SELECTOR LEVER ASSEMBLY needed to be replaced and needs immediate attention. At a cost of $2,858.40. Apparently I am not the only person who feels this is a safety issue due to a manufacturing malfunction and should be repaired by BMW. The bigger problem is people are opting to ignore the warning because it’s to costly to repair and have found a way to override the warning light. This is a safety concern to the public and I hope it will be addressed in a recall. My vehicle only has 53k miles on it and has been well maintained and cared for.

BMW has a voice assistant "BMW Assistant" which I have turned off. I verified the setting through a call today with Kingsley of the BMW Genius hotline, 844-443-6487. The problem I am experiencing is that although turned off, the Assistant keeps trying to turn itself on by asking permission which I am driving. One has to either press a button or repeatedly speak to it to try and stop its message. Not only irritating, but it happens during turn by turn navigation and causes distracted driving., I came close to having a collision a couple of times when this happened. Note that Kingsley confirmed that it would continue to occur in the future at random times and there is no way to turn it off. I am assuming at this time it is just a way to try and collect more information to sell. If the Assistant tried to do this when the car is started and stationary, while still irritating, there would be no distracted driving. this a a problem waiting to happen. The vehicle has started displaying an error message when parking stating to secure the vehicle against rolling. This is due to a very common issue with a spring in the shifter needing to be replaced. Based on what I have read, the spring issue is occurring in almost all 2016 and 2017 bmw x1's. This should be a recall and not a $3k repair bill.

This vehicle was rear ended with rear frame damage. The airbag light stays on and the seat belt was ejected and lock. The seat now will not extend to fit and latch. My wife the owner of the car [XXX] head and body was jerked extremely hard due to the lack of airbag not deploying. My wife completed all required maintenance with the BMW dealer prior to the accident. This is frustrating since we paid a lot of money over the years to maintain the car and we expect nothing less, but a safe vehicle for my wife. Was driving down the highway at 70 MPH when my sunroof suddenly exploded. There was no damage to the sunroof prior to the explosion and there was no outside object that fell onto the sunroof that could have caused it to explode. Thankfully I had the liner closed on the inside of the vehicle and I did not have the glass shatter on to me physically. However, if the liner had not been closed there could have been physical damage to myself and possibly caused me to have a motor vehicle accident. I took my vehicle to the dealership and the technician informed that he has at least 4 BMW vehicles per month with sunroof explosion. I also contacted BMW USA and notified them of the incident, and they stated there was no open recall on my vehicle. As stated before I feel this is a HUGE safety issue that warrants further investigation.
