SummaryDuring service and repair requiring removal and replacement of a crankshaft bolt and/or crankshaft damper, achieving proper torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt is critical. Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure.

SummarySome 2020-2023 Ford and Lincoln SYNC3 equipped vehicles may experience an inaccurate notification in the FordPassî/LincolnWayî app indicating Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode. Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode message is expected if the vehicle has not been started for 14 consecutive days, battery voltage is at/below 9.5 volts or the body control module (BCM) 12 volt battery state of charge (SoC) drops below 50%. If the vehicle is going into deep sleep due to one of these conditions, follow normal Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 414-01 procedure to correct the concern. If the vehicle is going into deep sleep outside these conditions, this may be due to the telematics control unit (TCU) software. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the TCU to the latest software. For claiming, use causal part 14G229 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

SummarySome 2024 Nautilus vehicles may exhibit low battery state of charge that may be attributed to extended transit times from the assembly plant to the dealerships. It is critical that the battery state of charge (SOC) is above 70% before delivery to the customers. The Lincoln electronic pre-delivery inspection (ePDI) process should be fully completed, which includes battery state of charge checks. Do not utilize the ePDI IDS override function to bypass these checks. If SOC is below 70% the battery must be charged with the charger's negative clamp on an engine or chassis ground. Refer to the Warranty and Policy Manual, Section 2.9.00 Storage of New Vehicles for battery charging warranty guidelines.

Some 2019-2023 Edge/Nautilus vehicles equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a ticking/tapping or rattle type noise from the top front cover area of the engine on initial start-up after a cold soak of 6 hours or more that may last for 2-5 seconds. This may be due to stuck internal components of the variable cam timing (VCT) unit. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the VCT units.

Summary2024 Nautilus vehicles are equipped with a rear deck lid lamp with Lincoln lettering. On Black Label trim level vehicles only, this Lincoln lettering will illuminate and all other trim levels this Lincoln lettering will not illuminate. This feature becomes illuminated on Black Label trim vehicles when the exterior lamps are on with the vehicle is in park. This feature shuts off and the letters will no longer illuminate when the vehicle comes out of park. This is normal operation and no repair attempts should be performed for this condition.

Customers must set up a personnel profile and link the key fob and seat memory to a profile for these features/settings to remain in memory. Customers may also be referred to the Lincoln YouTube Channel or Lincoln owners website for additional videos and information on how to use the features on their vehicle including how to set up a personal profile.

When the audio volume control knob is rotated, the center display screen may or may not show visual change with no change in audio volume. To correct the condition, perform a manual SYNC module (APIM) reset. Press and hold the audio volume control knob (located on top of the center console) for 10-seconds and release the button - appearance of the welcome animation is an indication that the audio system is resetting. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Make sure the issue is resolved before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
