On Thursday, May 25, 2023, I took delivery of my new 2023 Lexus RX 500h at Nalley Lexus in Roswell, Georgia. On Saturday, June 3, 2023, I noticed that the interior dashboard trim has become separated. I could (can) see the plastic clips and some exposed wiring. My initial thought was to not touch it because it could possibly cause an electrical shock and to take the vehicle back to the dealership. Instead, I decided to snap the cover back in place. After driving a few miles in the same day, the cover came loose again. When I got home, I Googled my issue and learned that others were having the same problem. On the next business day, I contacted my service rep at Nalley Lexus, made her aware of the issue but she stated they weren't aware of the issue. I decided to wait until my 5k service to bring it up again. On Saturday, September 9, 2023, I took the vehicle to Hennessy Lexus of Atlanta for my 5k mile service. I made them aware of the issue, they allegedly ordered and replaced the part, but the same issue revealed itself days later. I contacted my service advisor at Hennessy Lexus of Atlanta to make them aware that the cover is still sagging/loose exposing wiring but they had no solution.

POWER TRAIN
Numerous issues relating to drivetrain of 2023 Lexus RX500h: 1. Extreme vibration/shudder under reverse - example documented forum link: [XXX] 2. Uncontrollable jerking motion whilst stopped, as if vehicle was slipping in and out of gear trying to move forward - brakes were disengaged the entire incident There are no warning lamps or messages that occur during these incidents, however these issues cannot in any way be construed as normal operation. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Oil Cooling line failed when driving. I was not aware that it was having an issue; the oil completely cleared the engine, and this could have seized the engine while I was driving. The only way I figured it out, I stopped the car at some point and saw a pool of oil under the car. I called AAA and they came to tow the car, and checked the engine, and told me that there was no oil in the engine.

Severe droning vibrations coming from the exhaust when driving at 1500rpm @ 30mph and 60mph. Can be easily repeated at the aforementioned speeds. Problem has been identified by dealer, but dealer does not have a fix for 2022 RX350 model. Problem appeared while taking the suv home after delivery.

October 20, '23 Our recent DEAD STOP! Whistle blower! Did you know that when the alternator goes out on a Lexus, that the car draws down energy from the battery to keep the car going? That's only for about a mile or so, then the car shuts down! You can't steer and THE ENGINE STOPS RUNNING and you have no power as you come to a dead stop, whether on the freeway, or one lane mountain pass road, where we would have been later. What would we have done? Scary! Luckily, our Lexus stalled on a city street nearing our on-ramp to the freeway. (needing to be towed.) Lexus has a serious engineering-defective-design-flaw that probably is responsible for accidents. Thanks, [XXX] . Pass it on please! I recently purchased this vehicle new from Spokane Lexus. Come to find out there are no provisions for a tow hook front or rear. In the owners manual it clearly shows that there is a cover plate in the front grille that is removed to accomodate the eyebolt that is stored in the tool kit next to the spare tire. My vehicle does not have either of these, even though there is a molded place, next to the spare tire, to accomodate the eyebolt. So there no provisions for a tow truck to winch this vehicle onto a flat bed tow truck, if the vehicle does not move under it's own power. This vehicle was built in Canada for the US market. I have been told by the US Lexus Dealers that only vehicles built in Japan have the provision for the towing eye bolt. Previous Toyota & Lexus Vehicles have this provision. Why doesn't mine?????????

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Dear manager: I have this 2006 LEXUS RX400H which has CHECK VSC SYSTEM and CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM problems. When I was driving on the highway, the cruise control button is unable to turn on, when at speed of 65 MPH it will suddenly stall in the middle of the road and the READY light will be off and the vehicle has to be stopped by the emergency lane which is REALLY DANGEROUS. I have searched online and found out there were many complains about this issue and LEXUS issued a recall for this type of car and the dealer can change the inverter and ICM free of charge. The contact owns a 2009 Lexus RX350. The contact stated that the dashboard had started to crack, causing the dashboard to become sticky. Over time, there was a glare coming from the dashboard which obstruct the contact’s vision while driving. The contact stated that there was condensation in the headlight housings. In addition, there was a puddle of oil was discovered leaking from the vehicle while parked in a parking garage. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the engine oil cooler pipe was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that each of the failures had been covered under warranty; however, the warranties had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The engine cooler hose had been replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

Oil line ruptured spilling causing loss of most engine oil on road and potentially ruining engine. Vehicle currently is at Toyota dealership being rep[aired so is available for inspection. Oil on road of course a safety hazard. Oil line rupture was confirmed by Toyota service department. Vehicle had to be towed into repair shop. Rupture occurred spontaneously while drive at 45 MPH on road. No warning lamps on prior to episode and car was driving fine.

HYBRID PROPULSION SYSTEM
The contact owns a 2006 Lexus RX400H. The contact stated while driving at slow speeds in a parking area, the ABS warning light illuminated. Upon returning and attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle had electrical power but failed to start. The check hybrid system warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V396000 (Hybrid Propulsion System), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 227,500.

There is a known issue in the form of a Warranty Policy Bulletin and I believe a recall in Canada for a faulty engine oil cooler line that was made of rubber and fails under heat (now replaced by metal lines). This happened to my daughter after a hot day and she pulled away from the driveway the next day. Almost all of the oil leaked out and we stopped the car and had it towed to a Lexus dealership. When it was inspected, it was confirmed this was the issue, and there was a noise in the engine. I have a concern that further engine problems may have resulted in a loose bearing needing compete replacement. This has yet to be confirmed, but seems consistent with the many discussion boards that mention this exact issue.

I purchased a 2013 Lexus RX 350 pearl white in color. After about 2 years I noticed spots mainly on the roof and now it is everywhere. The curious thing about the spots are that they are under the clear coat. We had the vehicle checked by a paint professional and we confirmed that it was factory paint. I like to report this issue .

On Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, while driving on the highway, my sunroof exploded. It sounded like a gun shot. I drove it to the place I bought my Lexus, in March, called Sewell Lexus Dallas. They gave me a rental and said they would have their technicians look at it. They called me on Monday and said their technicians decide it wasn't a manufacture defect, but they couldn't tell me of any evidence to why or what might have caused it. Furthermore, they suggested I report it to my insurance, and it would cost $4000.00 to replace. This is dangerous, to have a sunroof explode on the highway, it could have caused an accident. Lexus is not taking any ownership, it is a Lexus problem because it is a manufacturer problem.

I WAS SITTING AT A COMPLETE STOP FOR MORE THAN 45 MINUTES BEHIND A FATALITY ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY THEY HAD CLOSED WHILE OCCASIONALLY REMOVING FOOT FROM BRAKE TO INCH FORWARD A FEW FEET A BEST AND THEN STOP AGAIN NEVER TOUCHING THE ACCELERATOR WHEN I REALIZED AT ONE POINT TRAFFIC BESIDE ME WAS MOVING, I THOUGHT, IT WAS MY RX 350 WHILE PRESSING BRAKE ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH NO RESISTANCE I ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO SEE IF IT WAS SLOW ME DOWN AS AN UPCOMING CRASH WAS UNAVOIDABLE. NO BRAKE ASSIST, PRECOLLISON WARNING OR ASSIST, NO EMERGENCY BRAKING, NO RESISTANCE FROM BRAKE PEDAL AND ***NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AT ALL PRIOR TO IMPACT WITH THE BACK OF A STOPPED SEMI TRUCK** and during the entire incident the speedometer remained at zero or moved a tiny bit off of zero as if it was pulsing somehow and the accelerator was never touched while car felt like I was being pushed from behind, randomly accelerating on its own before impact.

Car turned on and no driving yet. All vehicle alert signs popped up. This is brand new car. Warning signs including: Anti-lock brak system advanced ultrasonic detection parking braking system pre-collision system blind spot monitor These signs are constantly popping up without any hazard condition. Lexus keeps refusing to do thorough exam because they keep stating there is no issues with the vehicle.

Hello, I had this issue on my Lexus RX400H recently, and it was diagnosed and repaired by a third party auto repair shop at my expense. I want to know if I have any recourse to recover my cost Approx $700. Thanks! VIN Recall Consequence: THE VEHICLE MAY ENTER A FAIL-SAFE/LIMP-HOME MODE THAT LIMITS THE DRIVABILITY OF THE VEHICLE. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE HYBRID SYSTEM WILL SHUT DOWN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL UNEXPECTEDLY, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. Recall Summary TOYOTA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006-2007 HIGHLANDER HYBRID AND LEXUS RX400H PASSENGER CARS MANUFACTURED FROM FEBRUARY 16, 2005, THROUGH AUGUST 30, 2006.
