I was driving between 35 and 45 mph and ran over a manhole cover. The rear of my vehicle began to fishtail. I pulled into a gas station and upon attempting to leave my vehicle failed to drive forward. The car was still on but would not move forward. I had it towed by flatbed to the local chevy dealership where it was determined that the rear suspension swing bar has separated at the weld. If I were traveling at a higher rate of speed on the highway this could have been deadly. The current recall for this problem only mentions the front control arm but for the same issue. My car has been inspected by my insurance and the incident does not match the damage and I'm fighting to not have my vehicle considered totalled. There were no other warning signs or issues prior to this.

Only have had this vehicle about a month but almost every day I drive it during the day if it's even just partly cloudy, cloudy, or raining the autoheadlights just constantly flash on and off. Sensor clearly isn't working properly. If it's completely dark lights come on correctly and if it's very sunny they stay off but anything in between is just a constant flash. Not safe due to sight, but also can cause road rage of other drivers thinking I'm flashing them....

When the auto headlight feature is on, the headlights keep flashing even when it is sunny outside. The intellibeam sensor seems to be too sensitive to any deviations in lighting. This could cause issues while driving if people think you are intentionally flashing your lights at them.

The initial problem was a defective shifter. It took over a month for a Chevrolet service department to get the vehicle in and fix the problem. By the time I brought the vehicle in to fix the shifter, the transmission was hesitating to switch gears, jerking at highway speeds and overall failing to shift and accelerate properly. This high speed jerk causes the seatbelt to lock up and hit my chest-causing pain while driving. This defect has caused pain, soreness and stiffness in my chest and neck. Dealership 1 (coggin Buick gmc of orange park- Jacksonville,fl) was notified upon drop off and did not fix the transmission issue. They claimed the only issue they found was the shifter. Dealership 2(Gordon Chevrolet- orange park fl) has made 3 attempts to locate and repair the problem and were “unable to duplicate the concern ” I have additional documentation from dealer 3(carmax Jacksonville west-Jacksonville, fl) where they have duplicated the concern 3 times on a 1 hour test drive. Chevrolet/General Motors are not taking accountability despite the vehicle still being under warranty.

I am an [XXX] living on a remote ranch in northern Montana. Owning a 2017 Chevy Trax that has be in the repair shop 6 times since October 2023 to fix the heater fan blower motor that keeps burning up, leaving me without heat or defrost. Driving home on the evening of [XXX] the fan motor burned up again (6th time since Oct. 23) and left me with out heat or defrost. At night, about 10 miles away from home, I tried to drive home. With no heat or defrost my windows started immediately fogging up . I began to try to wipe the windshield with my hand to be able to see to drive. Frost appeared on the inside of the windshield because of being cold outside. I got to my driveway and went to turn in and missed the approach because I could not see. I ended up going down a steep ditch. When I braked my vehicle a stainless steel thermos dislodged from the center console and hit my right knee, injuring me. Chevy Trax and Sonic vehicles from 2014 to 2018 have a defective pigtail from the factory, that causes the heater blower motor to burn up. No recall and as of today Chevy has not manufactured a non defective pig tail. I feel this is a really dangerous situation for people in winter climates. Never knowing when the blower motor will stop working causing impaired visibility due to the car windows fogging up. Spending over $1,800 on repairs, that can never be fixed and as my only form of transportation, I am left with out a safe vehicle to drive. On the Chevy Trax forum you will see pages of people that have the same problem . The local Chevy dealer garage will not make the damage right & are very reluctant to honor the 2 recalls I have had on this car. Arguing with me that there was rodent damage that caused the fan to burn up. Their work order says no damage to the wiring, or no short. Also blaming Landreth automotive. The fan motor burns up with in days of repair even after the last Chevy garage repaired my car themselves, after blaming it on others. I purchased this car on Feb 23, 2024 brand new - I have had trouble on numerous occasions trying to unbuckle my seat belt - the seat belt is too far down between the seat and the middle console making it difficult to manuever - if there were ever an emergency where I had to get out of the car fast - this would be extremely unsafe and problematic

While in operación vehicle brakes Apple themselves forcing the motor to work against itself. This has happened multiple times now. The vehicle has 22000 miles on it. It was at BLVD. GMC in Long Beach CA. We were told that the problems was a low battery that cause the computer to act out with brakes. Battery was replaced by them. 1 week later it happens again. Now BlVD. GMC wants to do a Brake Fluid service and replace the computer. I am [XXX] and this is a huge safety concern for me. I discovered lubricant leaking from the rear differential. After a quick check for recalls. there are none for this. I did find that GM has a special service notice for this issue for vehicles located in Canada. Apparently, what happen is there are pockets in the casting of the unit that hold road debris & road salt that will cause the case to corrode and leak. The vehicle was taken to my local Chevrolet dealer & the replaced the differential at a cost of $2901.88. I contact aced Chevrolet customer service and they said it was not covered in any way. I find it strange that it is covered for cars registered in Canada but not in the us. This could be a major safety concern if the differential were to fail at highway speed it could cause lack of control and possibly a crash.

When driving 70+ mph on a county highway a dog ran out in front of my vehicle. There had been a similar instance to this where a car pulled out in front of me on the same road and my car assisted in making a full stop to avoid the accident. However, this did not happen with the dog. There was full impact damage and vehicle has been in the shop for 3+ months awaiting parts for repair.

- #11574566February 28, 2024TIRES, TIRES:SIDEWALL
On February 21, 2024 my driver side front tire exploded, I was in walgreens packing lot. I had my vehicle towed to the dealer and asked what happened was just told I needed a tire. On February 26th, I noticed the back passenger tire had a bulge, again I took to the dealership and they told me I needed a tire, I suggested that the firestone tires may be defective. On Tuesday February 27th I was sitting in my vehicle on my lunch break and heard a pop, I get out of my car and the tire exploded along with the hub cab. This was the back driver side tire. I again took to the dealership and was asked was I going over potholes. Twice when parked the tires just exploded. Very frustrated considering I put 4 new tires on my vehicle in October and in less than one week, I've had to replace 3 tires to the tune of $955.55

- #11573980February 26, 2024EXTERIOR LIGHTING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
I’ve had problems with the headlights flickering for no reason and randomly (every day) With the green indicator on the dashboard turning on and off. It happens at different times of the day, in different weathers and for no reason. Seems to be worst on sunny and cloudy days and it happens at any speed, even parked. Already took to the dealership twice, first they did an update (it didn’t fix anything) and now they mentioned they have ordered a part to replace. I’ve talk in forums and groups with multiple people experiencing this issue. I had also problems with the back up camera staying on while driving and looking like it have “fish eye” effect. With the lane assist and forward collision warning not working. All this is also random, I’ve owned the car for a little over a week and seems like many people are talking about similar problems. The deactivation or failure of safety features is definitely dangerous. The dealership just mentioned they can’t replicate this. The problem with the flickering lights is a huge safety issue, other drivers gets confused and with the headlights going on and off you can’t really drive in safe way. I’ve documented with some videos and I have the dealership paper about The flickering lights problem. I’ve not been able to document the other problems since it happens while driving. I must mention I experienced this problems from the day one I got the car out of the lot (new). And the flickering lights problem KEEPS happening every day.

My car since I got it has been in service 3 times for the same issues. The infotainment screen keeps freezing and lagging randomly. It seems to happen more and more lately. It sometimes gets so bad where while I'm driving the reverse camera turns on and causes a huge distraction while driving. and when you turn the car off and take the key out fo the vehicle it will not shut off the radio for several minutes as it's intended to turn off when key is out of ignition and driver door opens. The next issue is with the remote start. The A/C will not turn on when remote starting the car. GM said it should but they can't seem to fix the issue. This almost caused my dog to have a heat stroke while I had to run into the store unexpectedly.
