Evaporator has gone out. Dealer confirmed. Parts on back-order. No warnings, AC just stopped blowing out cold air. While the windows can still roll down, on extremely hot days if AC isn't working, could cause health problems to some users.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The driver information center in the cluster intermittently goes completely black or glitches while driving. This is a safety concern because it is distracting while driving and removes important trip and vehicle information. I paid $222.79 for the dealership to inspect and they were not able to recreate the issue. They stated that the entire cluster would need to be replaced. I called GM to report the problem, but received no further options. After some research I found many posts online from others having the same issue with their 2020 Chevy Trax. I also saw that the 2024 Chevy Trax was recalled for the same issue stating it is a safety concern. My car is available for inspection upon request.

The paint is peeling on the 2016 Chevy Trax. When I looked up the issue, I noticed tons of people had complaints about the same paint color for their Chevy Trax. When they called GM about it GM said they didn’t get any complaints about it and made excuses. There is a pending lawsuit from lawyers based in Florida. I’m calling that number next. I went to the car wash, and when I came out from washing the car, I noticed paint had fell off two spots on my driver side. I went to the local Chevy dealership they sold me a paint pen and it’s doing a very poor job of covering it up. Apparently this paint in particular has a known issue and GM is not taking responsibility for it. I also noticed on this vehicle that I had just purchased less than two months ago also has paint touchup around various spots of the suv.

The contact had to steer the vehicle back into the desired lane. The contact stated that the failure was occurred while depressing the accelerator pedal while driving at various speeds. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The air-conditioning is not working confirmed by Chevy dealer. First time I was told it need refrigerant/freon; worked for approximately 2 weeks and then brought to another Chevy dealer and was told the AC Evaporator needed to be replaced. The AC Evaporator that needs to be replaced has been on order since 7/9/2024. We have had heatwave upon heatwave and still no part. I have a compliant in with GM and they have no date as to when the part will be made or where the order stands. Every week I get the same message "I am not seeing any status change. We are still experiencing a delay on the AC Evaporator". They have used the excuse of COVID and strike (which strike was 6 weeks). But we no longer have COVID or the strike. This is going on for two months. How many other AC evaporators are being made? I am sure the new cars are getting them. I can still drive vehicle, however in the afternoon hours it is extremely hot and I hope I don't pass out on way home. This is a safety concern.

I was driving in the daytime, and I had two people honk at me because they thought I was trying to get their attention with my lights. The cars behind me also looked concerned since the emergency lights were turning on and off.

I was driving on [XXX]. The engine lights came on and the message said to basically shut the car off. I was going 70 MPH. I slowed down and pulled over. I heard a loud bang as the car started smoking. Oil and coolant leaked out over the road, there were pieces of a frayed belts and a broken bolt near the car. I had it towed 50 miles to the dealer (Serpentini Chevy) that i bought the car from. They told me that the rod blew and that the engine is shot. The contact owned a 2017 Chevrolet Trax. The contact stated while driving at approximately 25 MPH; she T-boned with another vehicle (Ford F-150) however, the air bags did not deploy. No warning light had illuminated. During the impact, the contact's face hit the dashboard and she sustained a brain bleed, missing teeth, and a concussion that required medical attention. No police department arrived at the scene due to a high volume of crashed therefore no police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot by the insurance provider. The vehicle was diagnosed that the crash did not meet the criteria for deployment. The vehicle was deemed totaled. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

AC not working causing internal temperatures to be in excess of 105 degrees in the cabin during summer days in Florida. I am not longer able to transport child as well as myself because it causes us to get heat exhaustion making us ill. Reason for failure is so common apparently on newest generation of Chevy Trax that their is a national back order with no date of resolution. I am no longer able to use the car during the afternoon. Chevy has no resolution.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Driving N.Bound on Hwy 270. Traveling 50-55 mph. Mores than 2.5 sec from car in front of me per my dash board. Car in front slammed on brakes but did not come to a complete stop. My Braking system kicked and started slowing me down. The car in front of me started accelerating again at this time I was doing 10-15 mph. She slammed on her breaks again and my breaking system kicked in again but I also slammed my foot on the break. My car did not stop immediately it felt like the braking system had control over how fast I could stop my car. When my car was towed to the shop I had mentioned it to the shop workers but not much was said after that

Ambient light sensor malfunctioned on my 2024 Trax. It would flicker on and off in daylight when in the auto lighting headlight mode. After checking Reddit, many other owners are having the same issue. Chevrolet bulletin 24-an-001 has a direct fix. Avoiding flashing other drivers is important, as this indicates imminent danger is near.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, STEERING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The affected component is the design of the cruise control engagement button, and yes it is available for inspection. While the vehicle is below a certain (unknown) speed, if the cruise control engagement button is pressed, the cruse control engages at a relatively high rate of speed, and the vehicle lurches forward. This is especially problematic due to the design of the switch, which is a protruded lever-type mechanism that is easily swiped while the steering wheel turns. Due to this design, a significant risk is posed for injury and fatal accidents. I have had several instances where this has occurred and I was forced to react quickly to avoid an accident. And I've only owned the vehicle for 9 months. This problem seems to be inherent in the design, and is likely reproducible on any 2024 Chevy Trax, and perhaps other Chevy models with the same design. This vehicle has never been inspected. There are no warning lamps or other symptoms, besides the design of the cruise control system. This has happened since I bought the car brand new from the dealership.

My vehicle lost all its antifreeze. It was the day before filled to the proper level in the overflow container. The IDLE ENGINE ALERT CAME ON. When I opened the hood, no antifreeze coolant in my square overflow bottle. My vehicle has 58, 000 miles approximately on it. I purchased at Autolenders in Turnersville, NJ at approximately 32,000 miles on it. When purchased Autolenders replaced the air conditioning unit & they replaced a radiator because I smelled antifreeze. My concern is related to the 2015-2019 recall by the NHTSA. Repair of my vehicle may be over $3,000 estimated. I need your assistance.
