Buick Envision 2016 Mileage - 58315 One owner The car has had three events over the last year where it would not start. After the car is driven for awhile and after it's parked and turned off, it will not start. Everything in the car will function (windows, radio, door locks) but there seems to be a disconnect between the key-fob and the device that communicates with it. There is never a warning light or other indication this is about to happen. We tried to jump the car but it has no effect. If we wait twenty to forty minutes it will start on its own. On the third failure, we had the car towed to the dealership where it was purchased. When the car was unloaded from the tow truck it started. The dealership service department ran diagnostics but the error codes were not helpful. They kept the car for ten days and could not duplicate the error.

TIRES
As going down the road the tire blew out. The vehicle is new and only has 6389 miles on the vehicle. Feel there was a defect in the tire that caused this. No warning or anything came on to advise that it was low or needed attention. It blew out and damaged the wheel, fender and door The repair estimate total was $5484.66 and I had a $500 deductible. Also had a rental that ran out because the tire is now discontinued and they are trying to find one compatible. The vehicle seems to be too new for this problem. I am needing a rental now.

SEAT BELTS
The contact owns a 2017 Buick Envision. The contact stated that the front driver’s side seat belt strap had started to fray at the seat belt connection point. The contact indicated that the fraying became progressively worse over time. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 36,000.

SERVICE BRAKES
While driving my vehicle at 55mph on a country road, I went to brake, and then realized that I had no brakes. I had to coast to a near stop and put everything I had into pushing the little bit of brake pedal clearance left to the floor to come to a complete stop. I had NO warning signs or dash lights before this happened. Once I turned my car off and then back on, the service brake assist light came on, followed by the engine light. Had any cars been in front of me to stop, I surely would not have been able to stop with what little brakes I had left. My brake assist vacuum pump was removed, and inside there were many pieces of the part in there. This part is available for inspection. Again, had this happened in traffic or with anybody stopped in front of me, this would have had a completely different outcome. I had to have my vehicle towed 70 miles for repair. When the part was removed, there were no visible signs of any of the seals leaking.

SERVICE BRAKES
The brakes went to the floor with very little stopping power. Took the car to the dealer and the left brake line failed. The dealership said they thought since there was minor damage to the left front of the car, that this was the cause of the failure. The brake line was replaced with an aftermarket part and brake lines flushed and replaced. We had another instance of brakes going to the floor with little stopping power. This time the right side brake line failed. The dealership noticed that there was no damage on the right side of the car to cause this failure. The dealership told me they sent an email to corporate and checked for a recall on the brake lines. If this car would have been on the highway when either of these failures took place, we might be having a different conversation. AIR BAGS
Service Safety Restraint System warning and Airbag light comes on and off multiple times a day. Onstar and Dealer state they cannot recreate issue or find a code. I have pictures of the warning. It is very distracting when driving and warning bells are sounding and messages are popping up that take my eyes off the road. This vehicle has ~2500 miles and began at ~2400 miles.

SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS
Brakes did not engage when my husband pressed on them while he was driving. Brakes when straight to the floor. He noticed brake fluid on the ground and when he filled it back up and pressed on the brakes the fluid spewed out of the brake line. His safety and the safety of others was impacted because he was in traffic and a car started to slow and our Envisions brakes were not working. He had to swerve around multiple cars and go through a traffic light to avoid causing a wreck. This just happened on 7/31 so it has not ben reported but will be going to the dealership tomorrow on 8/1/2022. We did not notice any messages or warning lights on the dash. This appears to be an issue based on the other NHTSA report number 11398881,11396874,11467669,11465728,11454501 and 11406327

ENGINE, EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT
My vehicle still has a delay or hesitation with the shifting of gears while driving, causing a loss of power. At random times the vehicle has lost power while driving. Additionally, when the vehicle is turned off, there is a loud noise (knocking) coming from the front of the vehicle. Also, while driving there has been a burning smell. The vehicle is again scheduled for repair of the persistent issues that GM-certified specialists say the issues could not be duplicated. Recently the infotainment center blacked out after being the software updated. The screen produced issues with a variation of colors which disabled the use of the infotainment for several hours with the screen frozen. This is my second report of the same concerns with the same vehicle reported on 2/22/2022 as this vehicle is only six months young. The vehicle was inspected by GM's branding inspector in April of 2022. GM informed me that they did not find any issues at that time, but offered a settlement of repairs of 50,000 rewards points unbeknownst to me. As of June, GM offered another settlement offer of repairs only. However, GM has stated there are no issues. A lemon law warranty claim will be submitted.

The contact owns a 2016 Buick Envision. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently stalled at a traffic light. The contact received assistance from passengers nearby and pushed the vehicle to the side of the roadway. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact started the vehicle again and it inadvertently stopped again and there were numerous warning lights illuminated, which the contact did not remember. The contact then disconnected the battery and reconnected it, then restarted the vehicle. The contact also stated the battery was replaced last year. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no failure was diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,076.

On June 4, 2022 the radio bar showed a line in the middle of it and the volume of it would not increase. I could not hear anything. I tried everything even going into systems on the radio. Later that day it corrected itself and went back to normal. On June 18, 2022 the front passenger side window I put down approximately 1-1 1/4” and drove for maybe a half mile then decided to put it back up, it won’t move. I tried from both the drivers door control and passenger door, nothing. I looked in the manual and did what it stated to do, nothing, I got home turned off the car waited, turned the car back on and tried again, nothing. I called the dealership where I purchased the car and to my disappointment no service on Saturday. I have less than 35000 miles on this car no reason why I should be having issues.

At 15,238 miles I was at gas station to fill up vehicle only to discover the fuel filler flap was broken and could not get gas nozzle in vehicle for fill up. Immediately had my mechanic look at it and they were able to repair it. They were able to reattach spring but could not attach sealing plate without a disassemble. Had to replace the fuel neck assembly. No warning lights had come on dash for gas vapor, or other things. I have pictures of mileage and broken fuel filler cap. This could have been disastrous if I was in some small town that could not get parts or had run out of gas somewhere or if gas vapors started leaking.

SERVICE BRAKES
The brake fluid pooled on the floor in the garage. I'm not sure how long it may have leaked out the the brakes seemed mushy the last couple of trips to the store. The indicator lights said I need to service brakes. When I put more brake fluid in, it came right out. There was a split on the right front brake hose, in the rubber section just before the junction. See attached picture.

We own a 2017 Buick Envision with approximately 42,000 miles on it. While on her way home from work, my wife experienced brake failure that almost caused her to be in an accident. I checked the fluid and the brake fluid level was low. I added fluid and it leaked out as soon as the brake pedal was depressed, which to me points to a failed brake line.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL
The contact owns a 2020 Buick Envision. The contact stated when pulled into a recycling center, the vehicle unattended accelerated, and crashed into a cement wall. The failure occurred within seconds. The contact did not recall any warning lights on the instrument panel. The air bags did not deploy. There were minor injuries to the left-hand upper thumb. The contact also stated his head hit the steering wheel and the right side of the face was swollen, and below the right knee was bruised. There was a medical report from the Orthopedics clinic. There was no police report. The vehicle had damage to the front driver side quarter panel, the entire hood was lifted; however, the left front of the hood was higher up. The other damages were the bumper, lighting system, the front windshield cracked and shattered, and the rear windshield wiper was damaged due to the impact of the crash. The vehicle was drivable. The vehicle has not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,300.

For 6 months the vehicle has had the following problems: 1. Car automatically shutting down(unresolved) 2 steering column, wheel locking up(resolved at this time) 3. Interior and panel lights flashing when car shutting down ( unresolved) 4. When applying pressure to gas pedal engine automatically shuts down (unresolved) 5. Check engine light stays on Vehicle has been taken to dealership shop 6 times in the past 6 months. There has not been total resolve especially the fact that the car shuts down when I am driving. The car has multiple warranties. This is a very dangerous situation. I would appreciate your help

The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced intermittent brake failure with the brake warning light illuminated. The driver was able to slow down, pull into a gas station, and stop the vehicle. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed of a brake line failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,644.

What component or system failure or malfunction, and is it available for inspection upon request? AUTO STOP/START-POSSIBLE TRANSMISSION How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk?- The issue is the AutoStop feature and the transmission. When driving, it appears that the gears are not shifting correctly; also, while driving, the RPM has reached a high level of 5 multiple times, which is now a cause for concern. My minor son and I were driving today, and an 18 wheeler started veering into our lane. When I sped up to move over to the next lane, the vehicle hesitated, the engine revved up, and the vehicle started moving slowly. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The vehicle is en route to the dealership. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Not yet Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? NO The issue is the AutoStop feature and the transmission. When the car is in auto engine shut off mode, when the brake is released the steering power assist message displays, the steering wheel locks up, the doors unlock and the interior and exterior lights flash. The car will start back up but it takes a second to start. The car is also starting to not start back up and completely shut off at the light. All of the lights will start flashing. This is highly dangerous as the steering wheel lock almost caused my family to get into a major car accident. The car will be taken to a dealership later this week.

My Buick Envision started to occasionally create notable vibration in the front and traveling into the steering column. I brought the car to a GMC Buick dealership in Amite, LA(4/13/21) it was there for 3 days. The problem couldn't be duplicated. Next the car was brought to Royal Buick, Baton Rouge, LA(10/26-11/6/21.Having trouble controlling the car on each occurs.
