The contact owns a 2018 BMW 430i. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the low coolant/add coolant warning light illuminated. The contact stated she saw a coolant leak underneath the engine. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed that the water pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but experienced the failure a second time. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle back to the independent mechanic and was informed that the water pump needed to be replaced a second time. The vehicle was being repaired at the time of the call. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 54,348. The contact stated that the part was replaced by a private mechanic.

My vehicle erupted in a fire on 06/29/22. My vehicle had all of its services. It was shooting out random messages. Then ultimately completely lost power. My car filled with smoke and I seen flames coming from underneath the hood. It was fully engulfed in just minutes.

SEAT BELTS
I was the driver and I stopped at a traffic light. I leaned over toward the passenger seat and the driver’s seat belt came loose from the fixed attachment point at the driver door side of the seat. The seat belt tensioner was recently replaced at the local BMW dealer. There was no warning or other indication that the seat belt anchor point was not secure. I am taking the vehicle back to the dealer for repair on Monday, June 20. Whether this is a manufacturing, assembly or repair issue is unknown. However, there was no advance warning and the seat belt suddenly was rendered useless, which is an unacceptable safety risk in the case of an accident, regardless of whether it is a manufacturing issue or the result of a negligent repair.

225 40R 19 89Y I was traveling at 50 MPH and hit a man cover in the road and several days after I noticed that the tire was separated. I have sent an email to the manufacture and was told to take the car to one of the tire distributor, I did and have the tire inspected. I am having problem with the manufacture having warranty the tire. I had less that 6000 miles on the tire.

The contact owns a 2021 BMW 430I Convertible. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the electrical system suddenly failed, and all the instrument panel lights turned black. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that an unknown software had failed. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired however, the failure reoccurred while driving. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 200.

Tire warning system came on and found that front drivers side had no air in it, since it's a run flat tire I was able to drive slowly for just a few miles to home. After filling the tire with air I found that the sidewall was leaking excessively. No visible hole but a bulge in the outer layer causing air loss. No scuffs or any other other damage to tire or specifically sidewall. Mileage is 22,700.

CAR ACCELERATES WHILE BRAKING ON VARIOUS OCCASIONS - SO FAR I'VE HAD THE CAR 4 MONTHS AND IT HAS DONE THIS WITHOUT WARNING 5 TIMES, LUCKILY SO FAR HAVEN'T HIT ANYTHING. BROUGHT IT BACK TO BMW 2 TIMES AND THEY SAY THEY CAN FIND NO PROBLEMS. I AM NOW DRIVING AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN AND THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO.

THE FRONT SEAT DRIVER SEATBELT DOES NOT RETRACT. DEALER REPLACED MECHANISM AND NEW PRODUCT IS WORSE. THE SEATBELT DOES NOT RETRACT PROPERLY AND HANGS AS WELL AS GETS CAUGHT IN THE DOOR CAUSING DAMAGE TO SURROUNDING INTERIOR.

AFTER PUTTING THE HARDTOP DOWN AND RECEIVING THE COMPLETE MESSAGE, I THEN GOT ANOTHER MESSAGE SAYING 'RETRACTABLE TOP NOT LOCKED'- SEE OWNERS MANUAL. AFTER REVIEWING THE MANUAL, I COULD NOT DISMISS THE WARNING OR PUT THE TOP BACK UP. I HAVE BEEN GETTING THIS SAME MESSAGE WHETHER THE TOP IS UP OR DOWN SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP ALMOST THE ENTIRE 3 WEEKS I HAVE OWNED IT! THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND IN PARK WHEN THE TOP WAS INITIALLY LOWERED AND RECEIVED THE MESSAGE THE FIRST TIME.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 BMW 430I. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD OVERHEAT. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SKIPPED GEARS WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HENDRICK BMW (6950 E INDEPENDENCE BLVD, CHARLOTTE, NC 28227) BUT WAS NOT YET DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE STARTED ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE THE AIR THERMOSTAT AND COOLANT PUMP WERE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER A SECOND TIME BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

HAD A SITUATION WHERE THE REAR WINDOW OF MY CAR SHATTERED WHILE STORED IN THE TRUNK DUE TO THE ROOF MECHANISM ENGAGING WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENED WHILE IN A DRIVE THRU GOING ABOUT 2 MILES AN HOUR AT A CHICK-FIL-A ON FRIDAY AUGUST 7TH 2020. THERE APPEARS TO BE SOME FAULT IN THE ROOF STOWAGE MECHANISM THAT CAUSED IT TO PUSH THE ROOF UP INTO THE GLASS AND IT CRUSHED IT.

THE CONTACT STATED A COUPLE OF BY STANDERS ASSISTED HER TO TRY TO EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO CATCH ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT STATED NO ONE WAS INJURED OR SEEKED MEDICATION ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LOCAL DEALER BMW OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED AT 5400 GASOLINE ALLEY DR, BAKERSFIELD, CA 93313, (661) 396-4040 AND WAS BEING DIAGNOSED AT THE MOMENT. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 13,200.

MY SUNROOF EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAY. THE EXPLOSION WAS VIOLENT AND LOUD. LUCKILY THE VIOLENT EXPLOSION DIDN'T CAUSE ME TO CRASH. BITS OF GLASS ARE STILL STUCK IN MY SKIN. I CAN FEEL THE GLASS BUT I CAN'T SEE IT.

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2017 BMW 430I WITH OUR INFANT SON IN THE BACK SEAT. SHE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY WHEN SHE HEARD AN EXPLOSIVE SOUND WHICH RESULTED IN THE GLASS SUNROOF TO SHATTER. THE SUNROOF WAS NOT OPEN, THE HEAT WAS NOT ON, AND THERE WERE NO VEHICLES IN FRONT/BEHIND, OR NEXT TO HER. NO VISIBLE EVIDENCE OF ANY ROAD DEBRIS. IT JUST EXPLODED OUTWARD, AND NO CLUE AS TO WHY.

SEAT BELTS DO NOT RETRACT WHEN REMOVED. THEY MUST BE MANUALLY PUSHED INTO THE SEAT BACK. IF I FORGET, OR LOAN MY CAR TO SOMEONE THERE IS A DANGER OF THE SEAT BELT AND/OR SEAT BELT CLIP BEING STUCK IN THE DOOR CAUSING DAMAGE THAT MAY NOT BE NOTICEABLE UNTIL THE SEAT BELT FAILS IN AN ACCIDENT. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR THIS CAR.
