Catastrophic failure of plastic oil filter housing causing complete emptying of engine coolant. Failed part is available for analysis. Car was immediately immobilized, requiring a tow. This problem was confirmed and ultimately repaired by local BMW dealer. No other inspection has occurred but issue seems very prevalent based on online searches. No warning before failure occurred.

I pulled out onto Southside Blvd. My brakes failed, my driver’s front of the car hit a Waste Management garbage truck right back tire and cut the sidewall of the tire. The engine was racing, the truck pulled off the road, and I had sudden unintended acceleration. I immediately turned into a strip center and my car was racing through the strip center, the brakes were not working, the car controls were not working, and I turned the ignition switch off and the car stopped. The car had to be towed. Presently my insurance company has issued an estimate to repair the cosmetic issues, but not the mechanical issues.

- #11626109November 19, 2024BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING
The rear cross traffic alert system on this vehicle (2025 BMW X4) does not work properly even when all systems are turned on (check marked) . No warning visual or audio for example is given when backing out of parking spaces, driveways, etc. and a vehicle is crossing behind your intended path either from right to left or from left to right. We are familiar with how rear cross traffic works as we have it on our 2018 Subaru Outback. This system gives the driver a false sense of security and may lead to serious backing accidents.

I purchased my vehicle October2023. May 23,2024, at 1:34 pm, my vehicle broke down due to a message on my dashboard stating “Drivetrain malfunction”. I was on the highway with no use of my gas pedal, which resulted in me rolling back all while being 5 months pregnant. June 18,2024, at 3:04pm ,my vehicle broke down again due to the same message that previously popped up “Drivetrain malfunction”. I was also on the highway with no use of my gas pedal all while pregnant. July 18,2024, at 12:25 midnight, my vehicle broke down again due to the previous problem “Drivetrain malfunction” by the airport with no use of my gas pedal all while 6 months pregnant. Each time I my vehicle malfunction I almost got hit by other vehicles because I had no use of my gas pedals to get out of the way. There were no warning signs at all. When the message pops up on my dashboard the gas pedal completely becomes inoperable. This vehicle has put me and my soon to be baby in harms way multiple times. The dealership has had 3 times to fix the problem and still fail to do so. Having their opportunity to fix it three times just to tell me it’s because it doesn’t have gas in it when it did has put my in a situation where I’m constantly worried about it braking down again putting me and my unborn child in danger AGAIN, to where I am financing a car I can not use. Not including the 2 times I had to pay to get it towed from the airport because the police told me I couldn’t leave it there.

In Oct 2022, I was driving normally and suddenly got a message on the dash saying something like "Coolant low, please top up when you have a chance". A minute or so later, I got the red warning "Engine Overheated, turn off engine when safe" and it went into limp mode, and I pulled over immediately and had to flatbed my car to a dealer. Then told me there was a coolant leak (which I was not aware and there was no error message regarding coolant prior to the incident.) And they told me there was a recall on my vehicle coolant vent line. Although I had check NHTSA website frequently and did not see anything being recalled. They replaced the coolant vent line for free. Fast forward 21 months and less than 5000 miles later, I brought the car in for oil change. Upon inspection of my vehicle, the technician noticed some fluid seeping through the turbo coolant feed line and there were buildups. Please see video here. [XXX] . They suggested replacing the turbo coolant feed line and turbo return light for $2,500! I mentioned the incident two years ago due to a coolant leak that was being recalled, if this is related. They told me the recall was only the coolant vent line. The issue now is the turbo coolant feed line and return light. And over time, the coolant just "starts to leak on those lines due to its material". This is a 6 year old mildly driven vehicle with 35K miles. How can the coolant line material so bad that it would start to leak after 5+ years? Found some threads online and there were other people having the same issue. The manufacture should have put in some quality coolant lines. There were other recall in other models (18V755) for regarding a coolant leak that may result in an engine fire, which increases the risk of a crash and injury. If the line material of my coolant feed and return line by nature will start to leak after five years, wouldn't it be the manufacture's responsibility to remedy it before it cause safety issue? - #11597432June 28, 2024SEAT BELTS
This automobile is designed with a seatbelt assembly which has an arm which reaches out to bring your your seatbelt. See pix. It is made with plastic and glue and is amazingly flimsy. I cannot believe that BMW created such a "cute" but flimsy design. It cannot withstand being used hundreds of time when the seatbelt is used. It broke (see pix). Now a rigid arm with a jagged edge comes out at eye level. Someone is going to become seriously injured!!!! BMW claims that this resulted from misuse and not faulty cheap design and wants me to pay for the repair!!!!!!! This entire assembly needs to be recalled and replaced with some thing sturdier.

My BMW 430i 2018showed no warning and suddenly the car started to shake, I stopped immediately and after the car cooled, there was no coolant, the oil temperature gage was always on normal. The car overheated and caused catastrophic engine failure, and need replacement. Upon inspection by several mechanics, its obvious the coolant leak from a hose that connects with engine block
