I was driving down road about to get on [xxx] in Tucson,Az when we heard a loud boom inside my car. We pulled over to see what happen. My moon room had exploded for no reason and nothing hitting it. You could clearly see the force came from inside vs outside due to an object. As we drove down the road to take it to ford glass proceeded to fall down. We are very lucky in the only one that got a piece of glasses in my hand and not on my infant. My sunroof component has had 2 issues prior to this and I feel the glass was faulty and my car has a mal-alignment. Ford is denying any responsibility. The differential came apart while my family and I were traveling on the highway out of town. This cause the vehicle to start violently jolting and wheels locked up. The vehicle began to skid across the center line into on coming traffic, we were almost hit head on and from behind due to this. My husband couldn’t get the vehicle to move, it was making a grinding and screeching noise. Finally, he got it into 4x4 mode and was able to move the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. This was a very traumatic and terrifying experience for my whole family, we literally thought we were doing to die. Not to mention, there was no indication or warning that notified us on the dashboard. Since we were 100 miles from home, I had to have my vehicle towed, partially at my expense to the closest Ford dealership in California, which was still 40 miles from my home. The service department confirmed it was the differential, it took almost two weeks to get the part and to fix it. Since, my vehicle was practically brand new and only had 2000 miles on it, the repair was covered under warranty. I contacted Ford customer service and notified them of what happened. I requested them to buy back the vehicle, however they declined. Now I am stuck with a brand new $75,000 vehicle with only 2150 miles on it, that I do not feel safe driving my family in. If one major issue has already happened, then the probability of something else major happening is pretty good. I’m extremely disappointed in Ford for not standing by their vehicles.

My Ford expeditions transmission is causing unsafe driving with rough sound and thunking noise. There is a C,D,F issue and valve separator parts that are the initial issue that can cause major issues for me and many others. A Ford technician advised me that TSBs exist and made me aware that my cost could be $199 (diagnostics), $1500 (parts), and $4400 or more (transmission repair or replacement). Why is this danger still be allowed with a well known issue. The problem started and appears to be getting worse. Why is Ford being held accountable for this lack of quality in their vehicles.

May 17th was trying to get over one lane on service road, gave car gas and it acted like it fail out of gear, let off gas and then it was fine. Did the something again about 4 hours later. Car only has 94,000 miles on it and dealership is saying that it needs a new transmission. I have never hauled anything with this car, only driving on the highway. I did take my Ford in at 57,000 because it was rough sounding when it would change gears. They said they couldn't find anything wrong. Now we need a new transmission and it is out of warranty of course. I just don't see how this transmission could not last longer then 94,000 miles. The note on the car still has a few years left on it. There are not active recall per Ford Relationship Center. I also have a claim with them as well. They told me to made a claim there as well.

I purchased a 2021 Ford Expedition and it has 37,000 miles on it and the transmission shifts hard when putting the vehicle in drive. The vehicle jerks violently. Also when driving down hils the transmission jerks. The vehicle shouldn't have transmission problems already. The transmission in this vehicle should have a recall. The Ford company is aware that there is an issue and they should fix the issue or replace the transmission for their consumers. I have a 2012 Expedition that doesn't have this problem and it has 280,000 miles on it.

Rear defrost coils have continually fallen off. Dealer fixed one in February of 2024. It fell off March 2024. They are both hanging there. Dealer won’t touch it - says rear window needs replacement. I’ve researched on ford expedition forum and many expeditions have a similar issue. Especially with dealer not covering it.

A-pillar/hinge integrity engineering concern. While opening my door in a parking lot, the wind caught the door before I could catch the door. The door met the hinge stop and flexed enough for the edge of the door panel to contact a bolt on the A-pillar door hinge assembly, causing a small crease in the aluminum door panel. My concern is that in 30 years of driving, I have had a door caught be wind before but never had damage to the vehicle. This was not a strong wind, just enough to catch the door. The A-pillar is now flexed slightly such that the door panel gap is larger and seems related to the actual A-pillar flex, not a hinge failure. Vehicle testing of the 22 Ford Expedition has show some poor performance in the A-pillar area and I am concerned that this door issue is due to poor engineering and strength of the A-pillar. I have had the vehicle inspected at the Ford dealership and a customer service complain with Ford is in process. I do not feel this issue can be attributed to user error or considered "accidental" but is due to structural/safety deficiency of the A-pillar structure. The vehicles jerks when shifting, pops out of gear while driving, takes a long time to find the next gear, is delayed when doing from R to D. Yesterday, 05/14/2025, I took a left turn and drove maybe .2 of a mile and the car jerked very hard and popped out of gear. The car slowed down to almost a complete stop before it finally found a gear and I could accelerate. My children and I were in the car, I was afraid it was going to stall out and we would be sitting in the middle of the road and get hit. The road we were on had no shoulder. This isn't the first time this has happened, but it was the most severe.

- #11659340May 6, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
We are driving cross country. Three times the adaptive cruise control has accelerated and showed a new speed going as much as from 74 mph to 107 the third time. The second it went 75 to 88. I can’t remember the first but I know we had a sudden acceleration and quickly disengaged as we did all three sessions. Now we are finishing our trip to our summer home in Maryland without engaging because we don’t trust the system.

This recall was issued in January 2025, we are rolling in to month 4 here, this vehicle is used for business and cant drive it while it has an open recall per insurance, we have lost out on almost 4 months of income on this vehicle along with loan payment of 4 months, I feel like Ford has not taken this serious and is taking their time considering its a little older model SUV. Not sure if there is some type of compensation for this from Ford on the delay of this fix. Also, we have had no issues with our rear camera on this vehicle; everything works fine.

At 715 miles on the odometer, the driver's side rear axle became detached from the wheel hub bearing, causing a loss of power while driving. Dealer states this was a manufacturing defect as the axle retaining bolt was cross-threaded and not properly seated.

According to Special Service Message (SSM) 51346, Ford has acknowledged that certain 2022-2023 Expedition models may exhibit this issue due to the roof and spoiler components contacting each other. You can find more details on this concern on Ford's official website and in the SSM documentation. My vehicle has experienced this issue

- #11653440April 8, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
While using the adaptive cruise control, the speed of the vehicle rapids accelerates. If set to any speed less than 50, the vehicle speeds up to 56mph. If set to any speed greater than 56 but less than 86 mph, the speed of the vehicle accelerates to 86 mph. I have tested this issue over and over. I haven't talked to the dealership yet, but plan to today. Very scary to have the vehicle accelerate for no reason and for no driver input. The acceleration is fairly abrupt. The speed does not decline only speeds up.
