I originally leased and have since purchased this vehicle. Since owning the vehicle, it sometimes has a harsh shift between gears. It is so harsh that I have mentioned it to at least two different Ford dealerships during the transmission warranry period. No remedy was provided at the time. The car has continued to have shifting issues and now the car will pop out of gear while driving, which is a major safety issue. We informed a Ford dealership about this experience and they are now telling us we need a new transmission as they found metal in the transmission fluid. The transmission warranty just expired and there is a NHTSA bulletin about this very issue and there is an open recall on the power module for this car. I am filing this complaint regarding Ford Safety Recall 25S49 (NHTSA Campaign Number 25V315). My vehicle is a 2024 Ford Expedition Max, VIN [XXX] . The Ford pass app and the Ford recall site both show the remedy for the recall as "Available", but when I contact my dealer (Maxwell Ford in Austin, TX) they say that the repair cannot be performed because the update is not yet active in the Oasis dealer system. Ford has had months to release the software fix, but continues to delay the rollout to dealerships. Meanwhile, I have been without my vehicle because the rearview camera is unreliable and considered a safety hazard under the recall. I am paying for a new vehicle that is parked at the dealership and undriveable due to Ford's failure to provide a timely remedy. I have contacted Ford Executive Relations and their social media team, but have received no response or resolution. I am requesting that NHTSA hold Ford accountable for failing to make this safety recall fix available in a timely and transparent manner. The communication has been misleading to owners, and the delay is causing both financial and practical hardship. Fuel pump part number JL1Z*9H307*G failed at highway speed leaving vehicle stranded in express traffic lanes. But for the prompt response from FHP this would have resulted in a serious crash. The vehicle has almost never been operated below 30% of fuel capacity and has never been operated to near empty fuel. There are no known wear or accidents that impact the fuel system. there were no warnings or other symptoms prior to the complete pump failure.

Passenger sideview mirror does not open upon unlocking and starting the vehicle. I need to stop (if started driving) turn to park, turn off car, open driver's door to signal car that I have left, lock car using remote, wait few seconds and then unlock to reset car then it usually opens. Issues with mirror began happening a month after purchasing brand new car (5/24), first mirror was "popping or clicking" upon turning outright, mirror had been replaced once, over last year issue has been on going and brought to dealershop " deemed a technological glitch" - no warning lights or messages appear - sometimes my control panel screen will turn black upon starting the car which I now know means to look at my passenger mirror. This last occurred on Friday 7/25/25.

- #11676322July 26, 2025EXTERIOR LIGHTING
The component that failed is the left front driver side headlight of the vehicle, resulting in low visibility and inability to see or drive the vehicle in it's current condition at night. The only "warning" that could potentially have been a "warning", was the blinker began rapidly blinking the day before the headlight stopped functioning; the blinker no longer worked in the headlight but still worked on the driver mirror and back taillight. By the next day, the driver side headlight no longer functioned. It is my knowledge that Ford has a lifetime guarantee on the headlights for this make, model, and year of vehicle. Due to this not functioning, I would like to get it properly replaced under warranty or guarantee of Ford.

Transmission has completely failed at 68,000 miles and 4 years old. Ford is willing to cover cost of the tramission with a “partial good faith” agreement but the dealership who provides the service is charging $5,656 to put in new transmission. This is a widely known transmission problem with safety issues with multiple service bulletins. They are passing the issue onto the consumer instead of recalling. Shameful.

- #11675272July 22, 2025SERVICE BRAKES
The issue involves the brake system, specifically a brake fluid leak from the master cylinder area, which was identified under Ford Safety Recall 25S47. The component is still in the possession of the dealership and should be available for inspection upon request. I did not personally experience any symptoms while driving. There were no warning lights, messages, or noticeable changes in braking performance before the issue was discovered. The problem was confirmed by the service department at JC Lewis Ford during a recall inspection. They deemed the vehicle unsafe to drive due to the risk of reduced or complete loss of front braking power, which could place my safety and the safety of others at risk. As of now, the vehicle has been at the dealership for over 35 days, and Ford has not provided a fix or repair parts. I am currently driving a loaner vehicle. The issue has not been resolved and the vehicle remains out of service.

1) The fuel delivery system is affected — specifically, a faulty fuel pump which may fail and cause engine stalling while driving. This issue is under Ford Safety Recall 25S75 (NHTSA 25V-455). The vehicle is still in my possession and available for inspection upon request. 2) The recall clearly states that the vehicle can stall unexpectedly while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. On a recent highway trip ([XXX]), my Expedition began shaking at high speeds, and continued shaking while parked, indicating worsening fuel system issues. I have three young children (ages [XXX] , [XXX] , and [XXX] ) who regularly ride in the vehicle. Being told to continue driving under these conditions with no available fix has placed my entire family and others on the road at risk. 3) Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Not yet. When I called Ford customer service to report the issue and request a safe alternative, I was told there was no further action available and that I should continue driving the vehicle. I was referred to my local Ford dealership, who also said they could not take any action until a remedy is issued. 4) Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Because Ford has no remedy available, they have not performed any inspection or offered assistance. The dealership confirmed they cannot inspect or service the vehicle related to this recall until Ford issues a fix. 5) Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lights or error messages, during a return trip from Texas [XXX] the vehicle began shaking noticeably at highway speeds, and continued shaking heavily while in park. These symptoms had never occurred before, and they align with the type of failure described in the recall notice. This vehicle continues to exhibit transmission shuddering, slipping, and hesitation during acceleration—despite two full transmission replacements in two years and multiple dealership service visits. These unresolved issues compromise safe operation, especially during highway merging, rapid acceleration, and lane changes. Both dealerships were unable to permanently address the issue after extensive mechanical intervention. Ford has issued multiple Technical Service Bulletins addressing transmission concerns in the 10R80 unit used in the Expedition. The most recent bulletin, TSB 25-2132, revises procedures for harsh and delayed shifting, shudder, and internal hydraulic leakage tied to the CDF clutch drum—which aligns directly with the findings from my own transmission overhaul documented in June 2023. Previous service entries noted suspected internal leakage around the CDF clutch, RPM flare during shifts, gear hesitation, and recurring drivability issues despite component replacement. These match symptoms targeted in prior TSBs, including: TSB 23-2123: Harsh engagement and shift delays TSB 24-2101: Hydraulic leakage diagnosis linked to clutch cylinder TSB 25-2023: Update to inspection and service steps for gear shift quality While dealerships performed repairs and even full transmission replacements, the lack of lasting resolution and repeat issues reflect a broader mechanical defect addressed reactively rather than proactively through these bulletins. Despite awareness at the manufacturer level, I experienced significant delays, financial burden, and ongoing drivability risks. I respectfully request that NHTSA further investigate Ford’s handling of repeated 10R80 transmission failures in the Expedition, particularly concerning the effectiveness of these bulletins in preventing recurrence and mitigating safety impact
