Dealer says no recall but it is a design flaw from supercharger freezing up due to no protection from elements, out of pocket to fix design flaw $1100 not covered under warranty or recall

Rear main seal engine could have blown causing accident on highway or other road while driving. GM knows of this ongoing problem with this vehicle . Problem was reported by auto shop. Auto shop pulled up to customer of this GM ongoing problem. Car produces no warning lights . no warning lap messages no other symptoms of problems prior to failure. First. SERVICE BRAKES
Failure of Brake Vacuum Pump. Oil intake screen of brake vacuum pump became clogged. (Have been diligent in regular oil changes) clogged intake caused pump to not receive lubrication, which resulting in it seizing. Pump is mechanically driven by exhaust cam shaft. Failure caused brakes to become almost impossible to engage. Even worse. The metal parts that were connected to the cam shaft were shattered, and the pieces ended up directly in the crankcase. This seems like a dangerous and potentially very expensive design flaw Pieces in picture had to be removed from crankcase..

PCV valve froze causing rear main crankcase seal to break and massive oil loss. Fotunately I was able to get home and not have the engine die on the road in -10 degree Fahrenheit temperatures.

When I was driving the vehicle, the dash said low pressure oil turn car off. Not even enough time to find a place to pull over. It just shuts off. Had been going 55 instead of 35. I could’ve gotten rear-ended with it just shutting off talk to a Car repair shop and they said those are all starting to do that the rear main seal blowing out. They didn’t have a big enough hole in the intake and it’s plugging up and building pressure and blowing the rear main seal.

STEERING, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
On many occasions while driving at highway speeds the steering wheel sticks causing me to use extra force to move the wheel. It's bad enough on dry pavement but on wet or snow covered roads it's worst. I have spun out 2 times already even while being cautious, luckily no one was around at the time. This needs to be addressed. There have been a few times that the blind spot monitoring stayed lit when there was no car around as well as at times the light never came on while I was being passed

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that upon pulling out of the driveway, she observed that oil had pooled underneath the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the PCV valve was clogged. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 90,000.

During cold weather my rear main seal failed and and I cannot drive the car my because it loses all of the oil in it. It will cost over $1900 to repair. This is a known issue of equinox’s and the equinox’s with this motor should be recalled for poor design. Three body shops in my town will not do this repair on this car because “it will just happen again”

The oil has had to be changed every month. The oil just disappears. I have to check and fill it weekly. I was told it a manufacturing problem. Now I’m on the side of the road, I heard a loud bang and it started smoking and oil is all over the ground. I’m waiting on roadside assistance.

I was driving at about 25 miles per hour and the vehicle made a banging noise and shut off. I went to restart and nothing would happen. I then had it towed to a local dealership. Upon evaluation the vacuum pump went out and caused catastrophic engine failure. I purchased brand new and there was no indication I had a problem. The vehicle was making no noise and no lights were on prior to the incident. I am told the repairs to the motor on a vehicle 3 years old are going to be $4,500. I have told the dealership I would like all of the parts that are removed and replaced from the vehicle when repairing

The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the contact noticed that the start of the vehicle was abnormal. The contact drove the vehicle out of the driveway and then into the garage. The contact stated an hour later while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact connected to a jump box to the battery and charged the battery for an hour. The contact attempted to start the vehicle, but the shift to park warning light remained illuminated. The contact purchased a new battery however, the vehicle failed to start. The battery was disconnected to prevent the battery from draining. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a voucher for the repair of the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000. The VIN was not available.

I safely pulled off interstate to avoid injury to myself or others due to engine malfunction. I was driving my car and it shut down in the middle of traffic on the freeway on [XXX] I thought I was dead I almost had a accident the car started back up and it did it again 4 times I am afraid to drive the car when it shuts down the steering wheel locks up and nothing happens I am so afraid of this Equinox please help. Not knowing what to do went to the dealer guy did a simply scan on the car and tried to sell me a car instead of trying to find the cause I am just so upset I love my car please please help me. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced due to the PCV valve failure due to oil being forced into the manifold. Additionally, there were metal shavings throughout the engine.
