The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. While the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle jerked and idled roughly and nearly stalled. The vehicle was taken to Auto Zone to be diagnosed. The contact was provided with DTC P0172. The vehicle was not repaired. Several days later, the vehicle was taken for an oil change, and transmission fluid was flushed and refilled. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, a week after the oil change, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle back to Auto Zone to be diagnosed. The contact was provided with the same DTC: P0172. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer. The contact could not leave the vehicle at the dealer. The contact spoke with one of the mechanics at the dealer, who suggested that the high-pressure fuel pump may be the cause of the failure. Several days later, the contact took the vehicle to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that fuel had leaked into the engine through the PCP valve and caused the fuel to run rich. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle remained at the dealer unrepaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 197,000.

Symptoms started, changing gears while driving, delayed start at lights on a slant, stalled acceleration on interstate from slowspeed ——-took it in and they said the accumulator is bad and has likely messed up the transmission. They recommended a new transmission for $7000+. Researched and found many 2019s had been recalled for this issue, in 2022, but this one was not. I am wondering why it was not, because now I have a bad transmission at 150,000 miles. Why was this vin not recalled in 2022.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? - 2.4L engine failure. PCV system froze Dec 05 2025. Crankcase pressure increased and caused the rear main engine seal to fail, which inturn allowed all the engine oil to leak out. Due to oil starvation the timing chain components failed. Additional internal engine damage is possible, but not yet confirmed. Failed parts will be available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Engine failure while driving with no notice. Happened on a day with sub zero wind chill. Stalled vehicle poses a safety risk to occupants and other drivers. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? My car threw on the check engine light and a note flashed on the screen and car just slowed down immediately. I had to press on the brakes really hard to get it home and then the transmission wouldn’t go in reverse. I took it to the dealer and they couldn’t duplicate the problem but said the battery contacts weren’t tight.

- The telematics module is bad, resulting in vehicle having no connectivity (GPS, entertaintment system, updates) - The car has no other means of hands-free operation for navigation software (no CarPlay or similar phone projection technology) - GM is unable or unwilling to supply the parts for warranty repair. - It is illegal to use the phone while operating vehicle in my state (Florida)

When I was driving down the street, I noticed smoke coming from the hood then flames . I parked off to the side of the road and open the door and took off running away from the vehicle. Loosing everything clothes, phones , jewelry important documents. I paid off the vehicle. Was happy that for once in my life I did something good until that happen so please help on what to do . I know I didn't pay off the SUV for nothing.

ENGINE
Timing chain tensioner lost tension and timing chain got so loose it would not turn the cams and catastrophic engine valve damage was done! This engine is notorious for this and there are class action lawsuits as a result but no recalls from GM as yet only TSB’s (Technician Service Bulletins). This is going to cost me thousands in repairs and I still owe $8500 on it. If this happens in traffic it could pose a serious safety risk in addition to the financial burden it is causing many people! Mine fortunately happened in my driveway and the vehicle had to be towed to my mechanic and has been there for 3 weeks. Have had rental vehicle costs as well. He had 3 other 2010-‘16 GM 4 cylinder 2.4L Ecotec engines in his small shop with the exact same issue! After doing research it is a common issue and GM has done nothing to solve it!

The contact owned a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at 25 MPH, when the vehicle in front stopped suddenly, the contact depressed the brake pedal, and the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The vehicle slowed down; however, it did not stop. The contact depressed the brake pedal twice, and the vehicle failed to respond and rear-ended the vehicle in front, where it came to a stop. The contact was unsure whether there was a warning light illuminated. All the air bags were deployed. A police report was filed. The contact sustained minor injuries that did not require medical attention. The vehicle was towed to an unknown location. The insurance company was notified, and the vehicle was declared a total loss. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V704000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). However, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The vehicle has ongoing and worsening electronic and safety-related issues. The fuel range and fuel economy fluctuate abnormally and frequently, sometimes even while the vehicle is stopped. The infotainment screen has experienced intermittent black areas/partial blackout while driving, affecting system reliability. Recently, the automatic transmission began hesitating during the initial gears, behaving abnormally and requiring me to reduce speed for the vehicle to respond properly. This occurs consistently. These issues have been reported multiple times to the dealership and GM with no resolution, and communication has stopped. I am concerned the vehicle is unsafe to drive and could fail unexpectedly.

No component failures at this time. My dealer stated that the continued on/off of my check engine light is that of a " GM engineering flaw/ issue" without any remedy at this time. I have been advised to continue to drive the vehicle with check engine light on as no remedy is available at this time. The flaw was disclosed by GM in 4/2025, bought my vehicle in 6/25 - No remedy as of 12/12/2025 - This is more of an FYI than formal complaint.

In FMVSS 138, it says that the tire pressure monitoring system will warn drivers of under inflated tires. My TPMS system failed on my MY19 Chevrolet Equinox around 49,000 miles and no longer warns me of underinflated tires for all four tires. To fix it I would have to pay out of pocket costs starting at $732, per the dealership, on a safety critical system that should not fail at 6 years/49,000 miles. There is no recall issued after a check of my VIN. Since 1974, the OEM has had a responsibility to provide a free remedy for safety defects and noncompliance. In 2015, the free remedy was changed from 10 years to 15 years by the FAST Act.

The telematics module has failed on approx. [XXX] and due to a large scale amount of GM vehicles having this same failure the replacement parts are unavailable. My research has found that this module failure has been a problem since at least February 2025 and now in December the parts are still on backorder for each failure. I purchased this car for my [XXX] daughter and now that this module has failed I am unable to track the vehicle and the vehicle's mapping system is useless, along with the ability to locate nearby charging stations. Additionally, the OnStar system is disabled and that is a safety issue. When we took the car into the dealership, they were very accommodating and diagnosed the issue quickly. This was in part due to the fact that my daughter is only [XXX] and cannot be provided a loaner vehicle or rental for age related requirements. I am unable to swap cars with my daughter since I drive a very large truck for work. So, basically we are stuck with a vehicle that has a faulty telematics module for un uncertain amount of time (Dealership expected 6 weeks) all while GM continues to produce new vehicles with the parts it is receiving and not honoring those who have already purchased a vehicle and should have priority to parts under both the warranty itself and the fact that this is a safety related issue. Also, the fact that this has not become a recall or at least a part that needs to be inspected for potential premature failure is unacceptable. GM appears to have zero ability to rectify this in a reasonable amount of time and instead is putting it on the backs of their customers while they continue benefitting from new cars sales with the parts stock that are available. The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal from a stop, the power steering became inoperable. Several warning lights were illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the front camera had failed and caused the power steering failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to speak with management and to file a claim. The approximate failure mileage was 8,300.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Telematic Module System is malfunctions with a nationwide recall on the part. Chevy representatives have no date for when the part will be in. The computer system in the car is not working. I can't reach OnStar the internet I pay for doesn't work. My car has been in the service department for a month this year for the same problem and it's out again. Engineers from Chevy have worked on it as well. I need help with this situation. It's possible that the this failure could drain my battery causing it stop while driving. The service department and Chevy customer service just keep apologizing with no real dates on when this part will be in.
