The vehicle was taken to several dealers, but no failure was found. The vehicle was taken to an Auto Zone to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuel sensor needed to be replaced. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and was informed that the part was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed by an authorized dealer. The failure mileage was 10,000.

STEERING
I was driving out in the country on 1-41 towards West Union. The steering tightened up and came up with a sensor that said Power steering ESC. The car went offroad due to the steering tightening from the power steering going out in the vehicle. I contacted the dealer, Mike Castrucci Chevrolet, and they told me that I would have to pay for any problems with this vehicle and I have only had the vehicle for 3 weeks. I put $2000 down on this vehicle and now am in a deathtrap due to this issue. The vehicle only has 60,800 miles and feel now that this issue could put my life and others at risk due to a faulty steering issue. I do not understand why this vehicle has driven beautifully to this point and yet there are many Chev Malibus that have that problem. How long will it take before someone recognizes this problem. There were no warnings before and I could have gotten myself and my friend killed in this car driving at night in the country. I spoke with an AutoZone representative and he said that he had a Chev Malibu with the same issue. They discovered that it was the power steering motor having to do with the traction control. I guess that I will be forced to keep driving this vehicle, and if there is an accident, then I should hold liability to be General Motors and Mike Castrucci Chevrolet who refuse to fix this car. When I took the vehicle, I was promised that they would stand by their car. I am getting no help with this situation. My 2016 Chevrolet Equinox has under 70k miles. I took it to a mechanic and he told me that the motor was no good. I had it for over 4 months and checked the VIN before I purchased the car. I was told that #3 cylinder misfired checked the compression on # 3 cyclinder and it only came to 50 lbs of pressure while the other cylinders showed 150 lbs of pressure. The oil reservoir was empty and I just filled it about 3 days ago. There was no sign of oil leakage.

My daughter and I were driving as she just got her permit. Well it started to rain and we were on the highway and the front wipers just stopped working. As she is a new driver she freaks out. Lucky no one was behind us at the time. We pulled over to the side of the highway and we could hear the motor working. We sat it out until the rain slowed down and I took over driving and got us home without the wipers worker. My wife gets the new part and fixes it and a week later they stop working again.

When starting my vehicle I get a message on the dash that service is needed for the airbag. I took my vehicle to a chevy dealer and a diagnostic test was performed. I have not had the work done at this time. However I know it is needed and in the process of scheduling an appointment. I have always owned Chevy's and have never had a problem with the airbags. I know this is a safety issue and should be a concern for the company. I truly think this should be on the recall list. I was driving when the engine started to slow and eventually stopped running. The check engine light was on for approximately 2 days prior to incident. The vehicle was brought to auto shop where they determined there was an oil consumption issue with the vehicle, and ultimately the engine would need to be replaced. The safety of myself and my 3 children, infant and two toddlers were put at risk. Having been stranded needing to wait for a ride to bring us home.

Fuel shut off does not work properly, extra fuel will spill out before the station's gas nozzle shuts off. Happens at every gas station, every time. Spilling fuel is a significant safety issue and environmental concern. Very surprised there hasn't been a recall yet.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the timing chain had fractured, and the fractured pieces had damaged the engine pushrod. The dealer diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.

On Friday, 11/04/2022 at about 1230 while traveling South on I-35 in Waco, Texas the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox RS Texas Registration RPW-5038 driven by [XXX] experienced a dangerous incident. She indicated that she heard a loud noise followed by immediate deflation of the driver side front tire. [XXX] was in the left of travel and immediately pulled over to the left shoulder of the roadway. [XXX] then contacted AAA for Assistance. Waco Towing responded to the scene. The vehicle was towed to a safe location for assistance. The subsequent damage was the tire rim was cracked across the middle of it around the whole wheel. The damage looked like a clean break except one part where the rim was bent inwards. There was a dent in the rim’s edge from what appears to be impact damage with the roadway surface possibly caused from the rim breaking apart. There was no other visible damage to the edge of the rim of the tire. The exterior part of the Tire Rim and the tire do not appear to be damaged. The Rim was a 19x7.5 Rim/Wheel. A Replacement rim was ordered from Stonebriar Chevrolet in Frisco, Texas. [XXX] indicated that had she been traveling in any other Lane this could have been a serious incident. In my opinion it appears that there may be a defect with that particular Rim/Wheel which caused the damage and near Serious Motor Vehicle Crash. I am a Retired Bergen County Police Officer in New Jersey. During my career I’ve investigated numerous Motor Vehicle Crashes but None experiencing this type of equipment failure. ENGINE
Our 2016 Chevy Equinox LT with the 2.4l engine has a cracked exhaust manifold. This allows exhaust gasses to get into the passenger compartment. I found the problem due to the smell of exhaust gasses and a noisey exhaust.I removed the heat shield and found the crack in the cast iron exhaust manifold. This will only get worse and can cause the 02 sensor to make the check engine light on. I have read and found this is a very common problem with the GM 2.4L engine dating back to a least 2010. GM kept making this flaw with the know problem.
