The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that on three occasions while driving at various speeds, she observed a loud clunking sound coming from the front of the vehicle. Additionally, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The car rode backwards with my wife in the car with 1 foot still on the car, and 1 foot on my driveway, the car drove backwards, dragged my wife about 15 feet the door crushed her ribs break five of them, and she has many soft tissue injuries and the left front wheel ran over both of her shins on her legs.

2019 Equinox LT. 1.5 litre Vacuum pump clogged and exploded internally. Almost killed my wife and I when brakes failed. There appears to be TSB’s dating as far back as 2015. Chevy has been aware of this issue yet continued to produce vehicles with this defective and dangerous design. It sounds as if piston rings are prem The pump connects to and is powered by intake cam. Dumb. Micheal Bates dealership say I’m responsible for the parts and repairs, because is no warranty, which are about the car used repairs, all internal damage to engine.

ONE OF THE WIPER ARMS HAS FAILED ENTIRELY. THE DEALERSHIP WE PURCHASED IT FROM (USED) ADVISED IT WAS REPAIRED, BUT IT HAS FAILED NONETHELESS. OUR 18 YEAR OLD SON DRIVES THIS CAR AND IT IS NOT SAFE. BASED ON OTHER INTERACTIONS WITH THE DEALERSHIP, WE BELIEVE THEY MAY HAVE "FAKED" THE ACTUAL REPAIR...OR THEY REPLACED THE POSSIBLY DEFECTIVE PART WITH AN ACTUAL DEFECTIVE PART. Additionally, the contact stated that the battery was burned and was bubbly. The contact was able to extinguish the fire with water bottles. A fire department report and a police report were not filed. The contact sustained a minor burn on the right hand and did not receive medical assistance. The vehicle was towed to the residence of the contact's parents. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. I purchased the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox 5 months ago from a dealership name The Automaxx group in Morrisville, PA. Two weeks after, the check engine light came on, I took it back to the dealership and it was in the shop for 3 days or more. I got it back and every week it was back in the shop for the last four months. I was very hesitant about driving it, but I need to get to my doctor appointments and then I park it. I had to constantly put oil in it and not knowing why or where the oil is going. It started smoking black thick smoke under the hood and cut off, then cut back on and I took it to the shop near my home, and let the mechanic diagnose the problem and he said the vehicle is not safe to drive at all, it's engine failure due to excessive oil consumption and that the vehicle could possibly catch on fire and that it's a defect with the engine from general Motors. I just would like to recoup the money back that I paid for the vehicle. I was totally unaware of the harm that I was in with this vehicle. I am not sure if the dealership was aware of the faulty engine or the dangerous vehicle that they sold, but thank God I wasn't hurt and that I don't have to inhale the smoke from that vehicle. The check engine light has been on for awhile and I was told that they weren't sure why it would not go off, that was a red flag for me. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance company.

I was driving home from work, all of sudden all the dash borad lights started flashing and the car stop. engine would not start back up. I had to have the car towed home and the next day it was towed to the dealership, I was told that there is a problems with the Chev Equinox's oil use, it burns fast and make the plastic parts in the engine break down. I was told that i will need timing chain and pitston replaced or new engine. i filed a complaint with GMC and they said that they don;t know of any problems with the type of car engine that i have. GMC said they will pay $600, toward cost of my repairs about $6500. dollars.

Fuel pump failed to supply engine with fuel, first started November 9, the vehicle was scheduled for regular maintenance on November 13, 2023 where I addressed the vehicle has been jerking and stalling. Service advisor saw a problem but Rick hendrick service department was unable to find what was wrong. On November 15th 2023 I reported ongoing issue and scheduled to return the vehicle for November 16, 2023, as I was driving to the dealership my car started stalling as I was going around a semi truck and a on coming car almost hit my car, Engine Light says Engine power reduced came on and I had to slowly drive the car in. Later the following day I was told my vehicle has a defective fuel pump. Vehicle has been at the dealership more than 15 days with no ETA of repair. General Motors has been notified and working to resolve again with no ETA. From what I was told this is not the only vehicle that has a defective fuel pump.

The motor burns oil really fast I go through about a quart a week there are problems with motor I've had my mechanics check it out and they say that the rings need to be replaced but also I've been reading in and everybody's everybody else has your same year models have the mechanics that said that the wrong pistons and rings are in the motors which is why we are burning so much oil I have kept up on the maintenance I've done everything I was so sweet doing but it's going it's damaging the motor having the wrong parts and motor

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? I believe it is a problem with the engine. Currently at Freeway Chevrolet in Chandler, AZ How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Car repeatedly cuts off when driving and could have been a danger to my safety and that of others on the road/ highway. There was potential for an accident. My concern is that there were recalls to fix this issue, however, the dealer where I purchased the vehicle (Jones Ford Casa Grande, AZ) did not pursue the issue, nor did the previous owner and I was not notified. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Full inspection and recommendation by authorized Chevy dealer, (Freeway Chevrolet) included at an attachment. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? The first time the car cut off was just prior to November 26, 2023 and the "check engine" came on. I purchased the vehicle in May of this year and have been enjoying my car. I want to be able to continue driving it and would like to get the recall service completed.

Very expensive repair and could have been even worse if he had not pulled off he highway when he did. Can't believe GM knew about this problem for years and did nothing to solve it.

On 10/19/2023, I came out of a store and saw a large puddle forming under my 2020 Chevy Equinox and fluid spilling out. I immediately drove it to the car repair business I have used for 10 years, which was less than one mile away. The bottom line was a cracked gas tank. They confirmed the warranty had expired in February of 2023, so with no reason to think otherwise, I had them order and replace the gas tank. I filed a report with GMC, only to be told that since I didn't have an authorized GMC dealership make the repairs, there was nothing they could do, to reimburse me. I felt that this as an emergency situation, not only for myself but others around me. I'm not sure how I was supposed to know to take it elsewhere. The bottom line is this...how can a vehicle that is only just over 3 years old, need a new gas tank? This is not typical and should be investigated.

The engine has failed. This problem is known by Chevrolet Corporation. Yes the vehicle is available for inspection. My safety was put at risk when my vehicle just shut down. This problem with the 2.4 Engine, is a known problem by GM.. About 2 years ago I noticed some oil spots. I then took it to a certified mechanic and had it inspected. They told me that the gaskets and seals of the engine were bad and they needed to be replaced. I had them replaced and it cost me almost $3000.00 out of my pocket. Now, once again, there are oil spots and now there is oil all over the right side (looking at the car from the front) (alternator side). I was driving back home from my daughter's (at night) and my car just quit on me. There were no warning lights nor any sounds. I am now out of a vehicle. I desperately need a vehicle for doctor appointments down state and I am a caregiver as well. I reached out to Chevrolet Support a bit ago. I have the case number. I am requesting for Chevrolet to make this right. I am requesting Chevrolet Manufacturer replace the engine in my vehicle. They know of this problem with the engine and oil consumption.
