Transmission is about to fail: at ODO 98800 the CEL indicates code P177B - Clutch Tolerance limit reached. The DSG transmission mechatronic unit was changed at ODO 46734 because the engine was loosing power. As I was coming to an immediate stop, due to a deer jumping out in front of me, the car/ brake pedal shuddered and I had to perform an emergency braking procedure by swerving onto the shoulder of the road. Thankfully no one was injured, including the deer, however, my nerves were frayed, as had this been in the snow or any other adverse conditions, what would have been the outcome then? Immediately after this happened the ABS light and flashing brake light appeared on the dash. I have used a scan tool to diagnose the issue to which the code #01130 (ABS Operation Implausible Signal). Through research online- forums it has come to my attention that this is a very common VW issue to the point that the NHTSA has requested/ mandated that a recall should be issued- www.automotive-fleet.com (January 7, 2017). When I went to the VW recall site and plugged in my VIN no recalls were listed?? I will be taking my car to the dealer tomorrow, as I am a one car household and need my '09 Sportwagen for daily transportation to and from work, I am hoping that they will honor the replacement of this faulty safety device.

The car was stalling at stops and the engine warning light came on. We took it into Autometrics (509) 766-2002 in Moses Lake, WA. They informed us that the transmission was cracked and needed to be replaced or it would ruin the engine. In researching this problem my wife found a recall 34J6. This recall covers Hybrids from 2013 to 2015 for this very problem. our car was manufactured in February of 2015. Called Volkswagan of North America. They informed me that the recall was vin specific and that our vin was not included even though the problem is the same. The car has not been inspected by the manufacture as of this filing, The car is currently stored under a car cover at our home. Can you please help revolve this dispute over the recall inclusion. Thanks

- #11443426December 11, 2021FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
1. Fuel pump control module shorted out and electrical fuse was blown. 2. Yes, the part is available for inspection. 3. Vehicle completely shut off while driving on the road without any prior dashboard indicators or symptoms of something going wrong. 4. Part #1K0-906-093-J manufactured by Kuhnke a tier 1 supplier for VW. Fuel pump control module is mounted on top of gas tank area and was melted and shorted out, and a thorough inspection, and replacement was done by the VW dealer: Diehl Toyota/VW, Butler, PA. 5. This same issue was a recalled on 281,000 VW models as per NHTSA bulletin #20AE. VW recall #17V509000. 6. VW said my VIN is not included in the recall. But, it the exact same failure, part, and manufacturer of the part for VW/Audi. So WHY? is my VIN not included. It doesn't seem to be batch related, but a design defect. 7. Vehicle would not restart and could not be driven. It was flat-bedded to the dealer.

- #11442062November 30, 2021LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
While using the lane keeping assistance function, driving at night, if a vehicle in the oncoming lane has bright lights or a larger vehicle with lights mounted higher, the system will pull sharply into the oncoming traffic and will, if not corrected, cross over the center line. This happens when the system shows two green lines indicating it is active and has identified the lane lines. The behavior is very consistent. I have not noticed a relationship between the behavior and speed.

Without any warning, the clutch failed to engage with the transmission. There appeared to be sudden loss of power to the wheels, which left the car inoperable. Upon encountering this issue, we had the vehicle towed to a local VW service center. They proceeded to do an inspection of the vehicle and recommended replacing the entire transmission given issues with their mechatronic units. As we later discovered this is an issue that VW is aware of. Recall 34j6 regarding the mechatronic unit and transmission. I called VW Customer Care and they refused to cover any cost associated with the recommended transmission replacement from the service center. Given that this is a known defect, I'd like VW to stand behind their product and cover the cost of repair, which was estimated at around $9000.

E-Engine and Transmission Problem. In August of 2021, while performing normal driving, the car refused to get in gear and the engine just revved; the Check Engine and Hybrid Systems Failure lights came on, and the car would not work properly. I had it towed to a VW Dealership in Springfield, VA for repairs and was quoted $15,000 for a new E-Engine and Transmission. No Recalls, but online forums show that this is a classic failure of Jetta Hybrids and is due to the corrosive transmission oil used in the sealed transmissions of the Hybrids. Car has remained on VW Dealership lot while a decision is made on the vehicle. November of 2021 I was contacted about a different recall (38C4) for the Jetta; it is a software issue with a European Calibration instead of a US. I am looking to have that repaired to see if it fixes the problem in the car. I am inquiring about the Volkswagen recall 34J6 (or 34J6/4V) for 2013/2014 VW Jetta Hybrids. My VIN does not appear on the list. According to forums, it has experienced the same failure as others that are. This one is for hairline cracks that may form in the Transmission causing it to fail. No warning signs were given before the failure. It was a well maintained car; I was the only owner and drove it for 121,000 miles.

I got this vehicle at 36,000 miles and I have put 23,000 on it in one year. There have been no warning messages. I was in idle and my RPMs started jumping I put it in reverse ( jumping stopped) , then drive to have the vehicle get a mile or two down the road and completely die. I was rear ended . Got it into a repair shop to be told by a certified mechanic it was throwing codes for the camshaft as well as needing an evap purge at just under 60,000 miles.
