2019 Volkswagen Jetta. While the vehicle was in Drive, it moved in reverse without the driver selecting reverse., this happened when the driver stopped to take a parking ticket in the garage on a slope. The driver again moved the dear to parking and back to drive but same thing happened. Ultimately, driver switched off the ignition and started the car again and drive mode worked

The contact owns a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The vehicle was shaking erratically, and the check engine warning light was illuminated. In addition, the steering wheel was firm, and the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was restarted and the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with spark plugs and valve cover gasket failures and the engine was cleaned. The contact was informed that the engine was covered in oil. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where a smoke and dye test was completed. The contact was informed that the spark plugs and valve cover gaskets needed to be replaced. In addition, a full engine cleaning was needed. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the following morning, the contact noticed oil all over the ground underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was towed back to the independent mechanic where the valve cover gaskets, sealants, and spark plug were replaced. In addition, the engine was cleaned again. The failure reoccurred with the low battery warning light illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the serpentine belt was shredded. The vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was driven to the residence, but the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that in addition, the vehicle was smoking and the engine seized. The contact referenced a recall; however, the VIN was not under recall. The dealer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure.

POWER TRAIN
The car has randomly shifted out of a drive gear on two separate occasions. First time it happened I had car towed back to selling dealership for warranty repair but they found nothing wrong and said they reset a fault code. They also told me we would have to wait and see if it happened again. It did and I called dealership to speak to service manager or the GM and was told they were unavailable and would relay the message to them and someone would call me back. This was on Friday the 23rd. Today the 26th, there has not been a return call so far. This is a major safety hazard as this randomly happens and it will not go into fwd or reverse when it occurs while I’m driving the car. Warranty or not, VW of America should buy this defective safety hazard vehicle back.

SUSPENSION
Driver's side rear spring broke on 10.17.2026. I noticed the driver's side rear end was sagging when I viewed car from behind while parked. It was not sagging before then. This vehicle had a safety recall NHTSA19V188000/VW42J5 performed back in 2019 and the rear springs were replaced then. So the replaced spring (under recall 19V188000) broke. I had to have a third party vendor replace the spring as no VW dealership was within the area. Car was not drivable and needed to be towed.

truck and light truck category vehicles are increasingly being sold with larger and larger tires along with LED headlights. This causes a huge safety issue as the profile of these category vehicle now sits higher and causes the LED lights to be level with the driver's head. The increased lumen count from the headlights causes night blindness and is greatly exacerbated when the oncoming vehicle high beams are switched on.

The vehicle wouldn't start and upon closer inspection some fluid was underneath the vehicle and there was a strong smell of gas. We had the car towed the following morning to a repair shop and were informed there was a fuel leak from behind the intake manifold. The service technician found two loose fuel rail bolts and one missing fuel rail bolt which caused the fuel rail to come out of the engine. Prior to the vehicle not starting, we had no warning lights or symptoms that indicated there was an issue with the car.

My rear breaks needed replacement at 18k miles, after some research online it is apparent other owners of the 2024 VW Jetta have experienced issues with their brakes needing replacement early. At around 37k miles the engine light for my car turned on and the car began having acceleration issues. I brought my car to a dealership as it was under warranty, and bought brand new, that was about three months ago. Neither the dealership or VW technicians have been able to identify the issue. Again, based on online research other drivers of the 2024 VW Jetta have had issues with the engine.

I was driving on Monday XXX when my car started to smoke and smell of fumes. The EPC light came on and my car was stuttering, so I immediately pulled over and turned off the car. When I got out I noticed a large pool of gas under the front of the car. I called a tow truck who brought it to Crew VW in [XXX] who diagnosed to car with broken fuel rail bolts which caused the fuel injectors to pop and fuel to leak. Told to replace brakes and rotors at 13000 miles. Out of pocket Took my car in with 3-4000 miles and asked same shop to look into brake issues rear brakes and was told the was no issue. Rear wheels were always black form brake pads being torn to shreds. I would have been way within warranty range, to address issue but they told me there was no issue, when they clearly knew that there was a issue!

On September 25th 2026, while driving my 2020 Volkswagen Jetta south on Route 12, the driver-front wheel completely separated from the vehicle while in motion. The vehicle suffered an immediate loss of structural control, and the undercarriage dropped directly onto the roadway, causing extensive mechanical, structural and body damage. A subsequent post-incident inspection by a certified Volkswagen dealership (NYE Volkswagen of Rome) revealed that the bolt holes on the wheel hub assembly were severely oblong, indicating that the lug bolts had loosened and backed out during operation. The vehicle had recently received 4 new tires on August 21st 2026 and the subsequent retorque on August 24th and a valve stem replacement on the driver-front wheel at the same automotive facility on September 3rd 2026. This report is being filed to document a catastrophic wheel separation and structural component failure under normal driving conditions.

I am reporting an unsafe vehicle release and failed recall remedy by Findlay Volkswagen Henderson regarding NHTSA Campaign Number 16V913000 (Volkswagen Campaign 45F2) on my 2009 Volkswagen Jetta. The dealership closed out the safety recall on October 7, 2026, via Invoice #485977, claiming the repair was finalized. However, their paperwork is explicitly non-compliant. Page 1 bills out an outdated, uncorrected factory part number (1K0-907-375-AH), completely violating the 45F2 safety protocol which mandates upgraded replacement modules 1K0-907-375-AP or 1K0-907-375-AN. Furthermore, Page 2 text contains the technician's actual notes stating he only did a temporary module reset to force a signal and explicitly writes: "CONTINUED WITH RECALL AND FOUND MODULE REQUIRES REPLACEMENT." Due to this uncompleted safety recall repair and use of non-compliant hardware, the ABS module suffered a complete network communication crash immediately upon leaving the dealership lot. This sudden network failure cut off critical speed sensor data to the vehicle’s transmission, instantly dropping the vehicle into an automatic transmission 'Limp Mode' while driving on public roads. The transmission locked into a single safety gear and refused to shift, causing a severe, sudden loss of vehicle acceleration and creating an immediate traffic hazard. When contacted immediately at 5:30 PM, the dealership refused to tow the vehicle to correct their failed recall remedy and demanded I pay an out-of-pocket diagnostic fee. The vehicle is currently un-repaired, hazardous to operate, and stranded.

On the day the issue occurred, I went to work as usual. When I finished work and tried to leave, my vehicle wouldn't start. I had the vehicle towed to a repair shop to determine what was wrong. After inspecting the vehicle, I was informed that the issue could only be properly repaired by a dealership. My vehicle has now been at the dealership for approximately one month, and I have been without my car for this entire period. This has created a significant inconvenience and has made it difficult for me to get to work, handle my daily responsibilities, and maintain my normal routine.

Mechatronics reprogram for prior recall does not fix failure longterm. The accumulator recall was fixed with original OEM accumulator which prolongs the need for Mechatronics rebuild. The OEM valve body housing is weak and cracks as well. The windshield spray motor just replaced. Appears it is a larger issue, many have issues with.
