Several years of ABS check light illuminated. No ABS, no cruise control. Started intermittently then became permanent. Diesel shop diagnosed defective HCU/ABS module. Local RAM dealer parts department doesn’t have parts for years - “ indefinite back order”, they say.

ABS and Traction control lights keep coming on intermittently. I know this is a known problem and a recall has already been issued. I feel like this is too important of an issue for Ram to be allowed 18 months and still no remedy. I could understand if this was a part availability wait but to not have a remedy after 18 months should require some sort of punishment for them or something should be done to make them fix this issue. There were previous models that didn't have this issue and there are replacement HCU modules out there for a 2011 - 2016 as well as 2019 and newer models that are good parts not under this recall, why can't the remedy be to use the parts used on these models to fix this issue. That is something that shouldn't take 18 months for a company to resolve. It appears they do not really plan to resolve this issues from what dealers are telling us. That is uncalled for.

SERVICE BRAKES
The HCU ABS is malfunctioning causing the cruise control to not work along with anti lock brake functions. This could cause a brake malfunction leading to a crash. We have received the recall notice, C4B/NHTSA 24V-896 over a year ago. We have contacted the local dealer several times during that year, including May 21, 2026. No effort has been made by the dealer to change the defective part and we have been told no parts are available and no delivery date can be given to change the part. Meanwhile we are forced to drive a vehicle with the potential to cause a crash. Please take action to help us.

I had to drive my truck yesterday and this ABS issue is causing my cruise to suddenly stop working, the service engine light to come on and STELLANTIS WILL NOT ISSUE A RENTAL OR PAY FOR THE REMEDY THAT WILL FIX IT PER THEM. They are saying that I need to pay for this and then they MAY or MAY NOT reimburse me. At what point will you start pressing this issue being a SAFETY advocate and US business that is paid to make sure these vehicle manufacturers are fixing these issues? There is still no remedy to this recall and my truck is affected - I have been driving with NO ABS AND NO TRACTION CONTROL for almost 4 YEARS. This has also deactivated my cruise control. This is unacceptable and compromises me and my families safety. This is not a question of if it is going to happen, but when. My vehicle isn't under the category of "may be susceptible to failure" it has failed and I have permanently lost those BASIC and CRITICAL safety features. It is simply a matter of WHEN the lack of those features will cause an accident. There must be something done. . I have spoken with Mopar and several dealerships and nobody has given me any solution other than to say they will call me when a remedy is available. That is NOT ENOUGH. Recall language for C4B "The brake hydraulic control unit (HCU) on your vehicle [1] may be susceptible to failure or malfunction which may result in a reduction or change of Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) /Electronic Stability Control (ESC) /Traction Control performance. A failing HCU will initially result in the intermittent loss of ABS/ESC/Traction control progressing to permanent loss. The loss of ABS/ESC/Traction control may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. "

My ram truck will intermittently have a Christmas tree of warning lights on the instrument cluster, which occur while driving. During these periods, I do not have access to four-wheel-drive, accident avoidance, antilock brakes, etc. If I continue driving the truck for the remainder of the day, the lights will usually go off, but will be stored in the vehicles PCM. the dealership has previously evaluated this and reports that they cannot fix or evaluate the vehicle because there is not an active warning light when I bring it to the dealership. However, when these lights occur, I could be towing a heavy trailer and have no access to the truck safety systems until the lights correct itself. This has occurred more than once. I do not take photos of the lights each time. The photo included is only one of the times. The last time I believe this occurred was on 1/29/2026. Each episode are the exact same warning lights.

POWER TRAIN
While driving transmission just died would only go in reverse. lucky it happened at midnight so there was no traffic and was able to pull over safely. I drove truck home in reverse has I was only about 1000ft from house. Checked transmission fluid was burnt and all black. there was no warning signs check engine light came on just has it happened. I then ordered a aftermarket transmission and had it installed . When old transmission was sent back for core was told under drive and overdrive clutch packs are welded together. Was not brought to dealer because warranty was already up. didn't think to keep codes that populated when check engine light came on there was about six all seemed to do with shift solenoids. I am filling this out in case others have had same issue and maybe its a defect seems like low miles for this to have happened.

Hello, I am formally documenting a serious safety incident involving my recently purchased 2026 Dodge Ram 3500 Tradesman 6.7L dually, purchased from Towbin Dodge in [XXX] , on May 9, 2026. On May 13, 2026—only five days after purchase—we were operating the truck for our dumpster business while towing a GN trailer loaded with approximately 5 tons. We were traveling down Mount Charleston after a pickup when a critical brake failure occurred. While descending the mountain grade, the truck’s braking system failed to respond. A warning light appeared on the dashboard indicating an issue with the electric brake system. We had tow/haul mode and exhaust braking engaged, but neither system functioned properly. When my father pressed the brake pedal, the vehicle did not slow down. With a steep descent ahead and no effective braking response, my father was forced to steer the vehicle off the road into a ditch to avoid a direct impact with the mountain, which could have resulted in a fatal collision. After stopping, we noticed signs of extreme brake overheating, and the system appeared to be close to catching fire. I have video and other documentation of the incident. The vehicle is currently in the dealer’s possession. This is a major safety failure occurring within days of purchase, and I am requesting a full investigation into the brake system and all related components, including any recalls, defects, or electronic braking malfunctions. I do not want the truck anymore! Given the severity and risk to life involved, I am requesting immediate action and a full resolution regarding this vehicle. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal felt soft and spongy upon depression of the brake pedal. The contact also stated that the "Service Brakes System", 4WD, traction control, and ABS warning lights all appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the entire brake system was replaced. The contact stated that the 4WD had failed to operate as needed and the mechanic could not repair that part. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that the remedy was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.

I am getting an error concerning the antilock brakes on my truck. This error is random shows up every few days. When it does show up it dings every thirty seconds and does not stop, which is very distracting. Also shuts off the cruise control. It took a copy of the recall to my local dodge dealer and they will not fix it.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The truck had about 7400 miles on it. It gave a warning that the DPF was near full and take it to dealer, about 20 minutes late it said DPF full power reduced. Two days later it cleared that code and began flashing the turn signal intermittently and giving warnings that the trailer brakes were not working, then that the tailgate was down. Shortly after that the instrument cluster went completely blank. I was driving it to the dealer when it ran out of fuel and forced me to stop on the highway. The vehicle has been at the dealer for almost 4 months now. When they replaced the dash cluster it would take too long to start. They replaced multiple modules and I believe three dash clusters before declaring it repaired. I picked it up for a test drive and the frontal collision warning came on intermittently along with a warning that automatic wipers would not work. I took it back. While at the dealership they reported to me that it developed additional issues and would not shift into gear. It is still at the dealership in Pine Bluff AR.

when towing the rear end bounce you in on coming lanes! I saw oil on shock took to dealer they fought me on replacing it then they said they will replace 1 and want to send me down the road 1/2 fixed ! No dealer will replace 1 always in pairs because it will cause un even braking and safety issues ! This was at Auburn jeep [XXX] ! FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Vehicle sends cluster warnings about Auto Emergency Braking unavailable/inoperable, Electronic Stability Control needs service, Antilock Brake System needs service, Parksense Unavailable, and ultimately the Check Engine indicator illuminates after restarting the vehicle. An error code also is present in the computer, U1412. This has happened twice now in a two week period. These systems are critical to safe operation of he vehicle, especially in emergency braking conditions, and could affect both the operator and the general public if they indeed failed. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, yet, and is scheduled for 5/8/2026
