The contact stated that when the brake controller was activated, the trailer trailer brake was inoperable. The contact stated that the failure had been persistent since the vehicle was purchased in 2019. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
ABS, Cruise Control and Traction control warning lights constantly flash on dash informing me that they are disabled. Dealer is saying that Ram canceled their part order for the ABS module part number 68347098AC needed to do the repair with an estimated 1 year date before it is available. Truck is unsafe to drive due to ABS and traction control being inoperable and was warned I may be liable if I choose to drive it and an accident were to happen.

Abs/traction control light. Dealer says it needs a new abs module and pump. It’s too new to have these issues, dealer states that it is not a recall and I would have to pay out of pocket ($1600) for the repairs. This is not safe at all. I live in indiana and doesn’t like stopping when the road is snow covered. Ram/chrysler needs to have this recalled immediately. This is very dangerous!!

The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

ENGINE
on Cummins Diesel Engine installed on this vehicle, On the Intake Air Heater assembly, there is a nut/bolt that has voltage applied to it to heat incoming air, this bolt/nut can melt and then eventually drop into #6 cylinder which will damage engine and possibly freeze/stop engine while driving thereby creates a safety hazard while driving. In my case engine warning light came on before the bolt dropped into cylinder and was repaired before damage occurred. Also see the following Utube link for video on issue. VEHICLE: 2018 RAM 3500 Dually ISSUE: ABS Module failure RESULTS: Loss of traction control, cruise control, and brakes locking up while pulling heavy loads. A constant chiming from check engine light. INSPECTED: By several independent garages can not find replacement module. Willing to let be inspected if need be. CONCERNS: Brakes lock up and loose control,Cause a accident by rear-ending someone, can't use all the functionality of the truck such as cruise control. Iritating chiming sound make long trips unbearable.

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the ABS warning light illuminated on the instrument panel, after which a message "Service ABS" was displayed. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the ABS. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 71,000.

WHEELS, POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY
I received a card in the mail stating my Truck had a recall for wheel studs two days later I lose my two wheels in the freeway almost causing accidents, My RAM is my only Income I use it as a hotshot I was charged $2000 for tow from Los Angeles CA to Bakersfield CA we left it at dealer for about two weeks they claim of inspections and parts not being in I file a claim with corporate and never hear from them I finally got my truck this Monday [XXX] and today [XXX] same wheel side seal breaks axles locks up and here I am stuck with another $2000 Tow payment Ram Corporate claims they will call me back in 24 hours its going on 3 weeks no calls or emails dealer claims corporate will refund my expenses I had to out of pocket tires as well since recall would not cover now I have no work no truck and no money [XXX] is amazing because first time around I could have cause a horrible accident and who would have paid if no one answers me the recalls are very dangerous this Dodge RAM truck 3500 is not safe at all it is a dully and the two back tires just flew off on the freeway the wheel studs all 5 cracked I really need help or guidance on what to do with this horrible situation please call [XXX] or email me at [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

SERVICE BRAKES, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
In May of 2023 while towing my boat I got warning bells and flashing lights, alerting me of the failure of the ABS brake system. In a few miles the warning went away. Then came back on, about 12 times in 20 miles. I also lost my cruise control and traction control. I took to the dealer, about 10 times before they were able to have the episode happen. It was intermittent at first but VERY annoying and Unsafe. The ABS system is almost always in failure mode and has been since about August. They order the parts in June, I'm still waiting. I use the truck to tow a car , a 34 foot 5th wheel and numerous other heavy loads. ABS is very important as is the cruise on my long trips. I'm still waiting, no help at all from Chrysler corporation!! Almost everyone I've talked to with a 3500 and larger truck, has had it fail. I'm tired of paying for a vehicle that is unsafe to drive. I want Chrysler to offer to buy it back, offer a good trade or repair. Please make them fix what they sell!!

The ABS sensor warning indicator comes on randomly. Normally every 45 seconds or so. The cruise control will not work when the warning triggers. The dealer replaced the sensor and the HCU units when the truck had @ 40k miles. Problem reoccurred within 6 months. The replacement parts have not been available now for 18 months and the dealer tells me they have no expectation when the parts will be available.

i had my ABS system repaired at my local RAM dealership under the original ABS recall, it is now malfunctioning again abs/traction control and brake light on , i took it back to the dealership which has changed hands and they didn't seem interested in repairing it and they said it was on national backorder anyway , so i've had to remove the fuse so i can at least drive it without the warning bell dinging all the time , this needs to be recalled again because its very dangerous

SERVICE BRAKES
As I'm sure you are aware of the ABS issues these vehicles have had over the last few years without any sort of correction it has been a nightmare. The ABS light and service electronic braking system has been beeping for over a year and the dealers and parts people have no resolve for this. We have recently been able to do what was RECOMMENDED by the dealers and found a used module to replace ours that is not working, but for a $1,650.55 repair getting a used part does not make me feel good about it, considering there's nothing to say this unit will not do the same thing in a few months. Again, we have been dealing with this for over a year and was told some point last year things were under review and waited 6 months for that review to be cleared and approved to only be told the review process was extended to try and find some resolve and still do not have any news from the Dealers or Manufacturers about this. To be such a huge safety component of the vehicle you would expect some sense of urgency on this matter, but that has not been the case for us or many others in this same situation.

The contact owns a 2017 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving at unknown speeds, the ABS and traction control warning lights were flashing and turning on and off. The contact was unable to haul a trailer. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired under warranty. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, Checkered Flag Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (12629 Jefferson Ave., Newport News, VA 23602), where it was diagnosed that the hydraulic assembly and ABS needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the traction control module and ABS needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 29,000.
