The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the engine overheating warning light illuminated. The contact started to drive back to the residence; however, closer to the residence, there was white smoke coming from the exhaust pipes and the vehicle started losing motive power. The vehicle was towed to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that there was coolant intrusion in the engine block, causing damage to the head gasket and the engine block. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); and related the failure to the recall. However, the contact called the dealer and was advised that the failure was not covered under the recall. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the failure was not covered under the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.

ENGINE
I have 2021 Nissan to and my suv is drinking a lot of coolant. I have a cracked head gasket where the car has never over heated. It’s coolant mixed with my oil and sometimes it has trouble cranking. When it does crank a bunch of white smoke comes from the exhaust pipe. I haven’t even had the car 2 years and it’s a blown head gasket in the engine. Dealer says I need a new engine

On oct 17,2025. While driving 35 mph on my to drop off my niece to her doctor appointment. My new 2024 Nissan rogue started to shake and engine light started to blank and cut off power and stopped on the road. Putting our lives at risk for accident on the road. Error Code : P2563 and P2565. I took it to the Dealership Antwerpen Nissan in clarksville, MD. Were I purchased the car brand new in 2024. The system check showed that Nissan Turbo had failed a defective safety recall and I need a New engine for my car after less then 1 year. The dealership would not honor this dangerous safety recall issue from Nissan has on the Turbo engine as there is a active recall on 2022 - 2024 Nissan rogue on the VC- Turbo Engine. Nissan and Antwerpen Nissan have not given me any help to fix this defective turbo engine that is putting a lot of drivers like myself at safety risk for a accident on the road. I would like to file a complaint in this matter to get it resolved and fixed on my 2024 Nissan rogue SV with a new Turbo . To fix the defective recall VC- Turbo from Nissan. The contact stated that while driving 35 MPH with his granddaughter inside the vehicle, and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle started shaking and shut off unintendedly. The check engine warning light was illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a turbocharger failure. The contact was informed that the turbocharger needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 60,000.

On October 20, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., my 2025 Nissan Rogue was parked in a public parking lot for several hours. When I started the engine, I heard a sudden loud pop, and the rear windshield immediately imploded, scattering glass both inside and outside the vehicle. There were no signs of impact, vandalism, or prior damage, and no hazards in the surrounding area. The vehicle’s climate control was set to “Auto” at 70°F, and the rear defroster was not on. This appears to have been a spontaneous glass failure, similar to other reports from Rogue owners. The incident created a serious safety concern due to the sudden explosion of tempered glass, which could easily cause driver or passenger injury, distraction while operating the vehicle, or potential loss of visibility if it had occurred while driving. The rear hatch now lacks structural integrity and requires full replacement. I am filing this report to document the defect and ensure this issue is investigated further for potential manufacturing or thermal-stress flaws in the rear glass assembly.

The vehicle has an open federal safety recall related to a manufacturing defect that poses a serious safety risk. The recall was announced months after purchase, but the defect existed at the time of sale. The manufacturer has delayed providing a remedy for more than 90 days and continues to state that repairs are “under development.” The vehicle remains unsafe to drive, and no temporary or permanent remedy has been provided despite repeated contact with the manufacturer’s regional consumer affairs specialist. The issue places my safety and the safety of others at risk because the defect can lead to sudden vehicle malfunction while driving. The vehicle has been serviced and inspected by a dealer who confirmed the open recall but could not perform repairs. The manufacturer refuses to provide a replacement or buyback, and instead continues to require payments for a defective vehicle. There were no prior warning lamps or messages before the recall notice was issued. This is an ongoing safety concern caused by the manufacturer’s failure to remedy a known defect within a reasonable time under 49 U.S.C. §30120(c).

My back window shattered for no reason. I had been driving for about 20 minutes. The ac was on my feet and not for the rear defrost. My [XXX] was in her booster seat in the back seat. We heard an explosion. I looked back to see a softball sized hole in my back window. I called Lumberton Nissan and the General Manager was very rude and was "mansplaining" how he is just a supplier and not responsible for windows exploding. There was no lawn or road work happening. There are no bullet holes in my vehicle. No rocks were found. The location I bought my vehicle from told me to make a claim with my insurance. I ended up just calling a mobile windshield vendor that my employer uses for their vehicles. I work for a Dodge dealership. While the repair is fixed, this has left my daughter scared to ride in my vehicle. I have joined a few Facebook groups who have posted their horror stories of their back windshields exploding. This needs to be fixed! Now that the window has been fixed. When you open and close my hatchback or even take a turn. You can hear glass INSIDE of the door rolling around. The vendor was not able to take apart the door to vacuum the glass up. This will become extremely annoying and make me scared that another window broke, hearing the glass rattle around in my hatchback door. What can be done to help the consumer? As the GM at Lumberton Nissan talks down to women and felt the need to explain how he is only a supplier of vehicles and does not make them, himself. Well, DUH! You are a dealership, not the factory. But the idea of a recall needs to be discussed on your end. This is not safe! My front windshield is perfectly fine and no issues. Same as the four door windows. But my back window should not be exploding on a 66 degree morning when my vehicle is only set at the lowest blowing setting of 72 degrees for more than 20 minutes, on my feet. On Oct 15th, 2025 in the afternoon my vehicle was parked at my work and back hatch windshield complete shattered. Many other vehicles parked in the same parking lot. No signs of any foul play. Called State Farm insurance and they called the auto glass repair shop to file a claim and have fixed.This could have been tragic if would have been driving possibly. Seems many other owners of Nissan Rouge other year/model are having the same issue. Dealer is being contacted as well. The vehicle was bought brand new approx. 3 months ago in July 2025. No warning of any thing wrong with hatch/windshield. Vehicle may be looked at for inspection but it is to be fixed Oct 16th 2025. Pictures were taken and documented

During a recent trip I noticed a "fluttering/rattling" noise coming from the top of the windshield of our 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum. The noise was very noticeable at interstate highway speed and on rougher road surfaces. While looking for the source of noise I found staining on the driver side headliner and interior front pillar garnish. Took Rogue to dealer and was told that the seal for the attachment clips for the roof rack were leaking into the interior. Leakage had damaged headliner and gotten into the airbag. The roof racks would have to be removed and sealed and the entire headliner, front pillar garnish, and the airbag replaced. The total repair would cost approximately $4,000.00. Since the Rogue was 45 months old with 20,500 miles it was out of warranty due to its age. The dealer told me that I would be responsible for the cost to repair it since it was out of warranty. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs to see if they would cover the cost since the leak was caused by a design and/or manufacturing defect. Nissan agreed to pay 90% of the repair but I would be responsible for the remaining 10% (approximately $400.00). I told them this was unacceptable and that Nissan should be responsible for the entire cost of the repair. Nissan has refused my requests to cover the full cost of repair. An internet search revealed that Nissan was aware of the defect and had issued a Service Bulletin (NTB21-097, dated 10/20/21), which was a few months before we purchased the vehicle. Since the leak can allow water to damage the airbag it is a serious safety issue. The airbag may not deploy properly during an accident or could suddenly deploy for no reason and cause a crash. Nissan should take full responsibility and pay the full amount for the repair since it is a known design and/or manufacturing defect. Nissan should issue a recall for affected vehicles.

On [XXX] I was driving out of state on the highway and abruptly I received an engine warning on my dashboard, my car immediately went into "limp" mode. Pulled over on the highway as car was now un operable. The car received 2 diagnostic tests via the closest mechanic on 10/6 which stated my engine has gone. The car than was towed to Victory Nissan of Mechanicsville who completed the second diagnostic test on 10/13/2025 who stated my engine and transmission needs to be fixed corrected. There are no current remedies so I would have to pay for the cost and when a remedy is provided by Nissan, then I would be able to provide then the invoice for reimbursement. The car is currently still at Victory Nissan of Mechanicsville. They also had no loaners available so I have been carless thus far. The KR15 1.5 L VC-Turbo engine in my 2023 Nissan Rogue (VIN [XXX] ) suffered complete engine failure while driving, resulting in loss of thrust and a sudden drop in power. The failure corresponds to Safety Recall 25V-437 for defective crankshaft bearings. The issue has been confirmed by the dealer, and no remedy or countermeasure engine is available until late Q4 2025, leaving the vehicle unsafe to operate. It was a cold morning and we defrosted our windows before leaving the house. We had been driving for about 2 hrs. We stopped and while in the car sitting with it parked, idling and with the heat on, there was a loud explosion sound and the back windshield blew out on its own on the passenger side! It flew outward behind the vehicle. It was like pressure came from within the vehicle and pushed it out? The whole back windshield started crackling for a long time and bubbling. This was very Scary when it happened! If someone or another vehicle was behind ours this could of been very dangerous or even worse if we were driving at the time and it caused an accident! I googled Rogue rear window exploding on its own and this has happened to others!!

Our car is currently at the dealership again, (2nd time) for this particular issue that we feel is a safety issue. We are still experiencing an issue with the lift gate. It is coming down at random times, often coming down on us. The sensor always beeps (so far) so you have a very short warning before it comes down on you. However, when it comes down, it takes alot to stop it (force). Even though it meets resistance with putting up our hands to stop it, it takes quite a bit to make it halt. It has also come down with my back to the car, with no motion under the sensor (no feet under the car to trigger the sensor). I do not have a video of it however I do have someone who witnessed it. We are not sure if this is related to the other electrical issues we are having. We've been experiencing issues with it being hard to start, the complete computer screen going blank (on video) or car changes randomly the temperature and shuts down the radio randomly. We were told yesterday that they were able to duplicate the issue and acknowledged that the gate came down "hard" not fast, but does not respond quickly when coming against opposing pressure. However, today we were contacted and told that Nissan wanted them to test other cars on the lot for the same issue, and now they are telling us that those cars respond the same way ours does, (very sensitive- she did not mention anything about them coming down hard.) However, the loaner car they gave us was also a 2025 Nissan Rouge and we have NOT had that issue with it. The hatch opens and closes without issue. The computer has not malfunctioned or completely went blank. It has not been hard to start, nor has the computer malfunctioned-shutting the radio off or changing the temperature information. It was recommended that maybe to "shut off" the lift gate and raise it by hand. However, we find it a little "rich" of the dealership to even "go there" as the car is 10 months old! We would like it to be fixed.

Because of the potential for engine bearing failure, our 2022 Nissan Rogue has been sitting in our garage for the past two months as we continue to make payments on it. It is unacceptable that Nissan continues to delay their efforts to provide a remedy for this issue. I can't imagine what Nissan Rogue owners will do if this is their only vehicle.
