Back window glass exploded into car and onto garage floor. Had just started car and put in reverse when loud explosion occurred and stopped the car to inspect. Found entire back window shattered and pieces resting inside car trunk, rear seats, and garage floor. Insurer had Safelite come to replace the window but technician could not complete the replacement since the black plastic wiper motor plastic assembly was cracked. Just found a new motor assembly at Nissan Dealer (Capitol in Wilmington, NC) and purchased out of pocket for $380.68 after negotiating a reduction of $200 with the dealer. Also, have a $250 deductible and Safelite charge for new wiper arm and blade $47.

how brake failure caused the Rogue to crash. “I was coming up on a stop and was trying to slowly come to a stop. But I noticed that my car wasn’t slowing down. So, I tried to brake harder by pushing on the brake pedal, but the pedal resisted my foot pressure. I pressed harder on the pedal, but the car didn’t start to beep the collision warning. I was not in control of the braking system (and) the car would not stop. The car wasn’t allowing me to brake. as everything happened so fast. I ended up rear ending someone.”

In August 2024, I purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue. On January 12, 2025, after a cold front brought ice and snow into our area in North Mississippi, I noticed that the rear windshield was busted. When I contacted my insurance provider, I was informed that there was no information stating that this issue was expected. I filed a claim and had a new windshield installed.

ENGINE
White smoke poured out of exhaust upon starting vehicle. When driving the vehicle will smoke and lose power/go into limp mode not letting you accelerate essentially causing you to stop in the middle of traffic or highway and causing the heat not to work. Same model with different vin numbers are already on recall but my vin number is not even though it’s the same engine and I’m having the same issues as the current recall

The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

I was driving at night at highway speed, and I turned down the brightness of the screen using the dimmer controls on the lower left side of the dash assembly. After several presses of the button from full illumination to approximately 40%, the entire instrument panel went blank, and a loud alert sounded. I lost all instrumentation for a few seconds, and then the screen rebooted. After it rebooted back at full brightness, I tried reducing it again, and the instrument panel rebooted for a second time while on the highway.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, STEERING
The software for the ProSystem is flawed. When using the "lane keeping" part of the software, the vehicle, during a curve, will go to the left or right solid or dotted line, as appropriate, and exceed that limit by at least 2 feet, then sharply turn and go to the opposite solid or dotted line and exceed that limit by at least 2 feet. The vehicle will then oscillate between the two line for up to one minute with the oscillations decreasing all the while. When driving in a straight line with either solid or dotted lines delineating the lane, the steering wheel will continues to oscillate to a minor degree. I have turned the system off and do not use it. I have returned the vehicle to the dealer, Round Rock Nissan, Georgetown, TX for repair and was told the system is working correctly and do modifications are necessary. Opinion: In my opinion, the software for the ProSystem is flawed causing the vehicle to be unsafe. The software need to be recalled, rewritten, real world tested extensively and reinstalled in all vehicles equipped with this software. This should be done immediately. I am aware of at least two other vehicles with the same issue. The contact’s son owns a 2024 Nissan Rogue. While the contact’s son was driving approximately 65 - 70 MPH, the vehicle decelerated and was shaking with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The driver was able to coast to the side of the road, where the vehicle went into LIMP Mode. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine had fractured and had caused the failure, and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, approximately 9 days after the repair was completed, the failure reoccurred while driving at approximately 55 MPH. The vehicle was towed to the dealer again. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle with another fracture in the engine, causing engine failure. The dealer stated that the engine needed to be replaced again. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the Better Business Bureau for assistance. The failure mileage was 23,500.

The vehicle is available for inspection.I believe it’s a safety issue Yes, the issue has been confirmed by dealership Unknown if the rear view mirror has been inspected by the manufacturer The issues were noticed a few days after purchasing the vehicle.

My rear window exploded while parked and powered off. Absolutely NOTHING hit it in any way. I was just reaching for the handle to get out of the car when it happened. Please note I’ve only owned this vehicle for two weeks now. This happened one week after purchase. Warranty did not cover rear glass. I paid out of pocket for replacement. (I have receipts) I have found that in the 2 weeks of owning this vehicle that this has happened to MANY Nissan Rogue owners.
