My 2022 Nissan Rogue has experienced repeated engine failures beginning at approximately 88,000 miles, including four separate incidents despite repairs performed at authorized dealerships. The vehicle exhibited engine knocking and drivability issues prior to failure. Nissan later issued a recall related to engine issues, and recall service was performed on January 29, 2026. The engine failed catastrophically less than 30 days later and was diagnosed with coolant intrusion into the cylinders requiring full engine replacement. The recall inspection appears to have been limited to a computer scan and did not identify the underlying issue. This raises concerns that the defect may not be properly detectable through the current recall procedure. I am reporting this as a potential safety concern due to repeated engine failure and loss of confidence in vehicle reliability.

I am writing to formally escalate a serious safety complaint regarding my vehicle, which is currently under an active recall and was already scheduled for repair next month. On a recent occasion, the vehicle suddenly and completely shut off while I was driving inside a tunnel, creating an extremely dangerous situation that could have resulted in a severe accident. At the time, I was driving with my family inside the car, including my [XXX] son. The engine/electrical system shut down without any warning. Emergency assistance was required, and the police attended the scene due to the risk created. Vehicle VIN: [XXX] This is not an isolated issue. The vehicle has already shown previous failures, and the recall repair has not yet been completed. This ongoing defect represents a serious and unacceptable safety risk. I am requesting: 1. Immediate inspection of the vehicle 2. Urgent repair under recall conditions 3. Written confirmation of the cause of the failure 4. A formal response regarding safety liability in this incident Given the severity of this situation and the presence of a young child in the vehicle during the failure, I expect this matter to be treated with the highest urgency. UNKNOWN: ASSESSMENT - On April 2nd early morning around 5 am, I left Kaaawa, HI zip code 96730 and headed to Kaneohe, zip code 96744. When I left home the temperature was around 67degree F and there was a light rain. About 15 minutes later at the Hygenic Store, the temperature dropped to around 64. The front windshield began to fog; I turned on the window defrost vent set at 70degree. I heard a lot pop/crack coming from the passenger side, lower frame area of the windshield. When I glanced, I did not see anything at the time. When this happened, there were no other cars in front of me. Later at home, I checked again, did not see anything. Two days later, I got into the car and there was a crack from the lower frame moving up the glass about 7 inches. As the days went by the crack got longer. I did not see a point of impact. As far as I could tell, the crack started from the frame. Unfortunately, I did not take any photos. I contacted Patrick at windward nissan dealership parts department directly (his personal cell phone); he told me to utilize Ace auto glass. There was no inspection by dealership or insurance. Utilized Safelite for replacement. There was no warning of any failure by cars system.

I was driving down the road doing 70mph in a 75mph when out of nowhere my 2023 Nissan Rogue just shut down no power, no warning, no nothing a extremely terrifying experience. I managed to pull over on the side of the road and it would not start back up, and is still inoperable and sitting on the side of the road because i can't get it towed to my Nissan dealership and the luck of it all is I just had my vehicle diagnosis on a open recall on 3/23/2026 they did a engine inspection, reprogrammed the ECM, and did a road test, Now 3 weeks later this happens to me, Maybe it wasn't apparent at the time, but something happened to where i was put in danger and this is a serious problem involving the Nissan Rogue

The passenger compartment doors locking mechanism can fail to operate properly preventing access to the the car through the external handles and can cause hanging if inside the cabin requiring multiple pulls to get the door to unlock. When the lock toggles are not completely in the locked or unlocked position, the solenoid will still function but will not unlock/lock the problem door. If the door has the child lock is activated and the locking mechanism is bound up because of the toggle, this creates an entrapment issue if you don't know what is going on. Subject: Formal Complaint and Denial of Recall Reimbursement – Nissan North America To Whom It May Concern, I am filing a formal complaint against Nissan North America for refusing to reimburse $6,703 in out-of-pocket expenses related to a failed VC-Turbo engine and a faulty electronic throttle body. These components failed on October 20, 2025, and are directly associated with active, ongoing safety recalls. Despite submitting a formal claim through Nissan Consumer Affairs and providing all necessary documentation, my request for reimbursement has been repeatedly denied. Nissan is failing to honor its regulatory obligation to cover costs for repairs involving known safety defects. I request that the NHTSA investigate this refusal to reimburse legitimate recall-related expenses. Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter. Nissan is breaking Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act in this matter. As they are purposely denying reimbursement on safety recall out of pocket repairs done. As nissan at the time of engine failure back on October 2025 refused to honor the recall repair & forced the customer to pay out of pocket for a failed manufacturing defect on Nissan vc turbo engine & Failed Nissan electric throttle body. All recalled manufacturing defects caused by Nissan. Were on October 2025 the engine on my 2024 nissan rogue cut off while driving with my family., with no warning & almost got us into a car accident. The cause was due to failed bearings in the vc turbo engine that nissan refused to fix that caused the vc turbo engine to fail and electric throttle body. All are recalls and serious safety defects. Nissan has been refusing to fix since 2025 in my matter and still till this day in 2026. $5, 700 out of pocket for Nissan vc turbo & $1,003 out of pocket for Nissan Electric throttle body. All failed due to Nissan manufacturer Defect. Safety recalls Nissan usa / Nissan assistant & Nissan consumer affairs. Are all refusing reimbursement on recalls

On Friday 1/16/26 @ 9 am, my daughter was backing out her parking space to go to school. As she barely drove forward, the car just suddenly stopped. She got the apartment maintenance guy to take a look, and he said the steering rods were broken and the car needs to be tow. It was inside the parking lot and there was no major impact for it to be broken. Its a 2023 Rogue with only 45200 mileage on it, so the rods should last longer then that. AAA towed the vehicle to Nissan dealership and dealership confirmed it was the inner/outer rod that needs to be replace. Dealership said it was likely due to a hard impact, but there was NO IMPACT at all in the parking lot. Car was sitting at the dealership waiting on parts for almost 3 months to have it repair. It was finally ready on Monday 4/6/26, and we were charge for $2275 and extra for battery that went dead sitting at their dealership for 3 months. This is obviously a safety concern that needs to be investigated. Lucky this happened in a parking lot. If this was on a main street or highway, it will cause a major accident.

The Navigation/Entertainment system randomly freezes in heavy traffic and screen goes blank in some instances. Hard reset by turning off car is required and works in some cases. This is a serious safety risk and could cause an accident resulting in injury or death. Nissan Corporate has been notified, initial response was that it needed to occur in front of a Nissan service center tech before they would consider fixing the system. (That is not possible when you are nowhere near a Nissan dealership, nor would you be able to navigate there with a frozen system. This problem has been reported by many Nissan owners and Nissan Corporate refuses to fix the problem There is a case opened at Franklin, Tn corporate. This is a 2023 Nissan Rogue with 16,298 miles. It is parked overnight in a garage. This morning when the garage door was opened, the rear window spontaneously exploded, sending shattered glass all over the garage. The car has not been in any accidents or had any damage, and there was no significant difference in temperature between the garage and outdoors (both around 65 degrees).

On January 23rd 2026, my rear window shattered while parked in the parking lot at work. I have video footage from my job’s security cameras which confirms there were no external forces involved nor, thankfully, no one was as in the vehicle at the time it occurred. This occurred while the vehicle was parked; it spontaneously shattered. The back windshield could have unexpectedly exploded while my children were in the vehicle, and the flying glass could have injured my children. The windshield has since been replaced, but there have been no issues to occur since the initial incident. At the time of the incident, I contacted the local police to file a police report. A certified Nissan dealers did inspect my windshield, and the Nissan Warranty group did not replace the windshield citing that I was over the 36,000 miles warranty (42967 miles). The service rep was helpful during the process and was even surprised that the warranty group denied the repair, since I was not far over the 36,000 miles. I had to pay out of pocket to replace my windshield and to also cover my rental for the time while I was waiting to hear back from the warranty group. I had to leave my vehicle at the dealership during this time. A total of 33 days, which was an expense I could not afford but I needed my transportation back. My insurance company did not cover any portion of the claim since it was a manufacturer failure. There were no warning, odd noises or damage to the windshield prior to it shattering. There is an active lawsuit against Nissan for not performing a recall on this defect, and it is a known defect.

- #11730897April 13, 2026ENGINE, POWER TRAIN, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The issue first began in February 2026, when the vehicle started showing signs of engine malfunction and poor performance, which ultimately led to a full engine replacement by an authorized Nissan dealership. After the engine replacement, the vehicle continued to experience serious and recurring drivability issues. On multiple occasions, including March 16–17, 2026, and most recently on April 11, 2026, the vehicle failed to accelerate properly even when the gas pedal was fully pressed. The vehicle would move extremely slowly and felt as if it was stuck in a low gear, with loud engine noise and lack of power. This created a significant safety hazard, as I was unable to accelerate normally in traffic, increasing the risk of being rear-ended or unable to safely merge or cross intersections. Additional symptoms included: •Engine shaking while idling •Intermittent loss of power and poor throttle response •Transmission not shifting properly •A/C blowing warm air at idle but cold while driving •A diagnostic issue indicating loss of communication with a control module (VCR/module) The problem is intermittent and unpredictable, making it difficult to demonstrate on demand, but it has occurred multiple times in real driving conditions. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by an authorized Nissan dealership, including technicians and a shop foreman. The dealership has stated they were sometimes unable to reproduce the issue and have attempted repairs such as performing an idle relearn, but the problem persists. Despite major repairs, including a full engine replacement, the vehicle continues to experience dangerous loss of acceleration and drivability issues, posing an ongoing safety risk. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

- #11730826April 13, 2026AIR BAGS, STRUCTURE:BODY
A water intrusion issue developed originating from the roof/moonroof area of the vehicle. The problem was initially diagnosed by an authorized dealership as a failure in the moonroof drain system, and the drain tubes were replaced. The repair was completed and marked as resolved. However, the leak continued after the repair. Upon further inspection, the dealership identified the source of the leak as the moonroof rubber seal and recommended replacement of the seal assembly. Water intrusion is entering the headliner and traveling into the upper A-pillar area. This area contains curtain airbag components and associated electrical systems. The presence of moisture in this location raises concern about potential impact to airbag functionality and overall vehicle safety. There were no warning lights or system messages prior to or during the occurrence of this issue. The failure presents as visible water intrusion, including wet headliner material and moisture accumulation near the A-pillar. The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by an authorized dealership. The initial repair attempt did not resolve the problem, and the condition remains present. The affected components (drain system and seal area) are available for inspection upon request.

I am reporting a safety defect involving my 2022 Nissan Rogue related to NHTSA Recall 25V437 (engine bearing failure). Prior to complete engine failure, I experienced multiple instances of sudden loss of power while driving at highway speeds, creating a serious safety hazard. In one instance, this nearly resulted in a multi-vehicle accident in heavy traffic. The vehicle also exhibited additional symptoms consistent with the recall, including engine shaking, knocking noises, rough riding and hard shifting, burning smell, and warning lights. Nissan performed the recall service, which consisted of reprogramming the Engine Control Module (ECM). However, this software update did not repair or replace the defective engine components. The vehicle’s condition worsened after the recall service. The engine ultimately failed completely at approximately 122,000 miles, shortly after the recall repair was completed. This indicates that the recall remedy is ineffective and does not adequately address the safety risk, as a software update cannot prevent or correct pre-existing mechanical failure of engine bearings. I am concerned that other vehicles with this defect remain at risk of sudden power loss and potential crashes despite having the recall performed.
