Engine codes P0016 and P0017 reads cam shaft and crank shaft correlation it is everywhere on the internet and on the Mercedes Benz Forum. This is a know problem that Mercedes has ignored. its on all 2004 thru 2008 vehicles with the 3.5 engine. Calls for a balancer shaft replacement. This should definitely be a recall issue. The industry knows that is was poorly manufactured part. Your help with rectifying this issue would greatly help the and restore the reputation of Mercedes and restore faith in Mercedes Benz owners. My vehicle is a 2006 E350 4 Matic with only 113,634 miles

My first incident was on July 17, 2023, the transmission shifted from drive to neutral, with out me touching the gear shift lever in any way. My safety and any passengers I have in this car, could be at risk, at this point I was going about 40 MPH, going into a gradual curve, entering a Entrance to 95 north, I had slowed down to the entrance ramp speed, this is when the transmission went from Drive to Neutral, with out me touching the gear shift lever. I had a appointment at Quirk Auto Park, there service dept. in Bangor, Maine, no warning lamps came on the dashboard, they proceeded to put the diagnostic tool on the car, they came out maybe 15or20 minutes later, they didn’t find anything. The first incident I also reported to the NHTSA. The second incident took place on 10/20/23, I was going under 25 MPH, I was into a left hand turn, the transmission came out of drive, and went into neutral, I did not touch the gear shift lever at all. There was no warning lamps that came on after this second incident either.

I had just left home and was about two blocks from my house when the engine stopped running and the word “malfunction” appeared on the display. It would not restart until I hit the off button and then I restarted it. Definite safety issue if I had been on the freeway or a busy street.

My Cars Fuel Sender/Pump unit is leaking and it was diagnosed by Mercedes-Benz of chandler. I will attach report for same. they have given estimate for 1800 to repair it. this is common problem across multiple Mercedes vehicles and they have done recall on other models on this but they have excluded my model. since the Problem is generic to many mercedez vehicles they should honor this in safety recall. please see this article about this recall on other models. they have highlighted to me that its a safety issue as there is strong fuel odor from car on this. The sunroof detached and the water from the rain leaked through the faulty sunroof into the interior doors, floorboard and dashboard. This happened to both the passenger side and the driver side. It was repaired out of pocket because of the hazard and lack of dealership accountability. Because the dealership wanted to charge $1000 to provide a water intrusion inspection so we went to an a MB authorization independent mechanic to repair the vehicle. This leaking lead to the growth of mold and lack driver visibility.Lastly they were no warnings before the leak happened.

While cruising , car stalled after it beeped intermittently for a few minutes . On checking , the shop found that ignition switch assembly module has failed & stopped working . Strangely , the Mercedes-Benz dealer on Montgomery Road , Cincinnati refused to fix this , though the car was initially towed to them . This is suspicious action on the part of Mercedes-Benz dealer . The dealer acted as if they do not want this problem to become public .

Steering wheel stopped turning. Steering pump has failed. My 17 year old daughter got so scared while driving it. Very dangerous. Always got serviced on time. It has only 76500 miles on it. The mechanic has no idea how this happened. Cost to repair is $4500 and he is thinking maybe there is a recall for it . It got towed to the shop and it had a full service done 2 weeks before . I am glad my daughter was not driving on the highway at the time of this incident

While driving the car on the beltway, the car unexpectedly and suddenly lost drive power. I pushed on the gas pedal and the car did move forward in a jerky motion. A minute or two later, the car again suddenly lost drive power. Again, I pushed on the gas pedal and the car jerked forward. After, these two episodes above, the car behaved normally for the rest of my 90 drive.

There is a strong odor of gasoline inside the passenger compartment and around the outside of the vehicle when the gas tank is filled. A previous maintenance code of 0456 was triggered. Several repairs have been done to try and solve this problem, but the issue still remains. There is currently no recall for this specific VIN model but Mercedes Benz have issued the recall for other models with the same issue.

On August 12, 2023, my husband pulled into the E43 into the garage with my two kids. When my son got out of the car, he noticed smoke coming out of the front of the car and notified my husband. He popped the hood and tried to put it out with the fire extinguisher but the smoke got overwhelming and he called 911. Fire department came and put out the fire. After the incident we did a search to see if there was a recall we missed but we only found an article published by Mercedes in December 2021 acknowledging their cars may catch on fire but no recall was done.

My W213 Mercedes Benz E300 just like all other Mercedes is have a “Crankcase” issue, it failed the engine keep revving but, not catching speed. I’ve seen multiple Mercedes is having that issues and it’s very common. My vehicle computer communication system failed to communicate with the key sometimes won’t start and will run out of power overnight mainly happen during winter times and when it rains.

The panoramic sunroof exploded while inside the car without warning. Contacted the dealership/service center on Friday 9/15/2023, was told they have not received a memo regarding the panoramic sunroofs in the 2022 E350, however; this is a know problem. I was told that this is not covered of my warranty because they assume something had to hit the glass, provided evidence via my security camera that not fell and hit the glass. Even after this happened the warning system did not even go off to indicate there was a problem.
