Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit all of the following conditions: Shudder chatter condition, most noticeable at low speeds turning No diagnostic trouble codes DTCs present Note: Three (3) new Essential Special Service Tools (ESSTs) are required to service the internal clutch pack on vehicles equipped with a single active torque rear drive unit (RDU) only. These ESSTs are expected to ship to all dealers (US, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico) in September 2025. ESST packages were shipped to 100 selected dealers in the US and Canada in May 2025, based on RDU part sales activity. The RDU Internal Clutch Kit and Adhesive Sealant are currently under restricted ordering to ensure ample supply of parts are available to dealers with the ESSTs. All parts are expected to be available for open order by Q4 2025, when the ESSTs are planned to arrive at all dealers. Note: For dealers with the ESSTs and a vehicle in the service department that requires a repair using the new RDU Internal Clutch

If the vehicle has a suspected leaking Roof Opening Panel Rear Trim piece based on the serial number, the Roof Opening Panel Rear Trim piece will be removed and replaced per the standard Workshop Manual procedure. This service must be performed on all affected vehicles at no charge to the vehicle owner.

This may be due to an evaporative emission system concern or may also be caused by the customer overfilling the fuel tank. If this condition occurs, perform normal diagnosis per Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-13 and repair as necessary. Inform the customer that the condition may have been caused by overfilling of the fuel tank and to not top-off the fuel tank when the fuel pump nozzle automatically shuts off for the first time. Refer the customer to the Fuel and Refueling section of their Owner Manual for additional information.

SummarySome 2021-2025 Ford/ Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC4 may not be able to perform an update to the accessory protocol interface module (APIM). This may be due to the software in the APIM. Ford Engineering has de-activated the ability to update these SYNC4 APIM modules as applicable, and the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) will not present an update for the APIM module. Some existing directed repairs may be impacted, check Professional Technician System (PTS) before attempting any specific technical service bulletin (TSB)/special service message (SSM) and check field service action (FSA) landing pages before attempting any FSA repairs. For any vehicle repairs requiring a software update that includes an APIM update in the programming sequence, if the 5-digit product code for the APIM software is equal to or lower than 23187, do not attempt to update affected modules at this time. To determine the 5-digit product code for the APIM software on the vehicle, while the vehicle center display screen is powered up with ignition in run or accessory, go to Settings > General > About SYNC.

This condition may be due to the software in the IPMA, causing it to not communicate on the network. To restore communication and functionality, download and run the "IPMA - Image Processing Module A (IPMA) Recovery" app in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. Once IPMA communication has been restored, download and run the "IPMA - Image Processing Module (IPMA) Alignment"
