The digital gage cluster went black on my 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy (AWD) while I was driving on September 5, 2024. There were no prior warnings or indicators to alert me that anything was going to fail/not operate properly. I was entering a school zone and could not determine what speed I was traveling at to ensure that I was not moving too fast and endangering children, as well as walking parents; I pulled over and activated my Heads-Up-Display (HUD) to see if I could utilize it to safely continue my journey. I was able to use the HUD to know my speed. I initially had the HUD turned off because my daughter, who is a new driver, said that it was distracting to her. This occurred first yesterday. I thought that it may have been due to my system conducting a software update, but the issue appears to be intermittent. It sometimes comes back on, but it only remains on for no more than 10-15 minutes before going black again. Since it is a new vehicle and under warranty, I scheduled an appointment with the local Hyundai dealership the same night the issue first occurred to have the problem evaluated. When I arrived the next morning I was told that it would take about two (2) weeks for it to be diagnosed!?! I then went to a friend, who is a certified mechanic specializing in electronics, to take a quick assessment. She didn't discover anything during her observation, but decided to check online to see if there were any reports of this issue occurring prior to my incident. She found a technical report stating that the issue is known and probably caused by a wiring diameter issue that causes the digital gage cluster to intermittently go out and come back on. I believe that this could be a serious condition in certain situations. Besides not knowing your speed, you don't know if a turn signal is activated, how much fuel you have left, engine temps, oil pressure, tire pressures (TPMS), etc.

The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that the horn was inoperable. The lower horn sound had dissipated. Then shortly after the higher horn stopped working. There was no sound when the horn pad was depressed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who informed the contact about the cost for the repair, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, opened a case, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

I was driving along 55mph on a 2 lane road when suddenly the car shut off. I was fortunate that it died at the top of a hill and I was able to coast to the safety of a side street. I was in a remote part of michigan and 20 miles from any service stations with my 3 children. The car would not restart. I was able to contact a tow truck who took it to my mechanic who said the engine had failed and I would need a new engine.

The trunk will occasionally not open. The car and trunk are unlocked, and when you pull the handle to open the trunk the car beeps like it's trying to open it, but it will fail to open and will then give some failure beeps. This has happened to me several times, and I've read online this issue has happen to others too. This is a safety hazard and makes the trunk unusable when it happens. I have a video of the trunk not opening, but it doesn't look like I'm able to upload videos files to this submission.

The engine is suffering from excessive oil consumption that might result in the engine blowing up. Hyundai is aware of the issue with many reports filed but has refused to address the issue.

On [XXX] my car started having trouble accelerating at some times- just happened out of the blue while driving normally. I was almost to my destination, so I parked and when I came back out, there was a message on the car screen that there was a problem with the transmission and to have it evaluated at my convenience. I was near the dealership so I drove there and they were unable to look at the vehicle but I asked if they could at least see what was wrong and if it was OK to drive. They said the code was DTC P1C2D03 and I was probably getting a new transmission. This code also showed up in the app. The TSB for this says that when this code is on the transmission will need to be replaced. [XXX] . They didn't have any appointments for diagnostics until 8/27/24, and told me it was safe to drive. My car continued over those 10 days to hesitate while accelerating at different times while driving. I never knew if I pressed the gas if I would get correct acceleration or not, which makes turning into traffic, merging, etc. unsafe. I also had 1 incident where I was at a stop sign and got no response at all from the gas pedal. I had to turn the car off and back on to get it to go. My car has only 12,000 miles. My car has been at the dealership now for 10 days waiting on them to do the diagnostics. On day 9 they called and said all it needed was a software update of the transmission control unit software and that they performed that update, test drove it twice and it was performing as expected. When I went to pick it up, the person who drove it from the lot into the service bay got out and told me the check engine light was on and there was an error about a transmission issue on the screen. The DTC P1C2D03 code is back on per the My Hyundai app. So they kept the car again and still waiting to find out what they are going to do. 3.3l engine with 120k miles began making a noise and suddenly failed while driving at interstate speeds. No warning lights or messages appeared prior to this incident. All occupants, two adults and child, were placed in danger while attempting to exit the highway and were left stranded with an inoperable vehicle.

Driving at a low speed and blind spot warning light comes on, then all warnings light up and car loses all power and goes into limp mode. Engine light stays on, but will start back up after it is shut off, open and shut car door and restart. Engine light stays on. Has happened to me three or four times. In the past, the engine light will eventually go off before I can get it to the dealership. Hyundai said they couldn’t duplicate the problem last time it was taken in, so nothing could be done. Gives error code P063512 each time and says EMS which I assume means emissions.

On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, I was driving southbound on Interstate 95 in Florida at 72 miles per hour in the left lane. As I approached my exit, I attempted to switch to the middle lane when, suddenly, the car stalled. Pressing the gas pedal had no effect, and the car rapidly lost speed. Fortunately, the drivers around me, who were all traveling at speeds exceeding 70 miles per hour, slowed down, allowing me to safely pull over onto the shoulder of the highway. The following morning, I contacted the dealer and drove the car in for inspection. I was shocked to learn that the car, which is a brand-new lease with only 1,500 miles and less than two months old, requires a new transmission. After this terrifying experience, I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle, even after the transmission is replaced. This is my first Hyundai, and in 25 years of leasing cars, ranging from Honda to Maserati, I have never encountered an issue like this. The whole point of leasing a car is to avoid situations like this one. This is completely unacceptable.

Forward attention warning camera continues to malfunction stating camera is obscured even when not. If cruise is allowed to be engaged the camera will randomly decide it doesn’t detect your face and will hard brake to stop the car. This has happened multiple times to me, narrowly avoiding collision from behind. Hyundai refuses to address the issue because their technicians can’t duplicate the issue so they state the car is safe to drive. Camera becomes hot to the touch much like an overheating cell phone. At times camera can be covered completely and will not detect it’s obscured. This camera is a big safety hazard rather than providing any safety. Someone will die if this is not addressed-the manufacturer doesn’t seem to care to fix the issue. I’ve reported this to the dealership from the 1st week I’ve owned the car. My car has been at the dealership for this issue almost half of the time I’ve owned it. I have seen many others with the same issue in Hyundai forums-their issues have always been dismissed as not a safety issue by Hyundai as well. How can a car that will brake from a high speed or any speed for that matter be safe-just because it “thinks” you aren’t looking forward but are looking forward.

Car purchase on [XXX] Within the first week, the car exhibited alarming signs of overheating. The hood was scorching, and heat emanated from the vehicle's exterior, all after just 30 minutes of driving. This was a matter of immediate concern. I took the car to Jim Ellis Hyundai on June 14, 2024. I reported that the car was running hot, the engine was making noise, and heat was coming from it. I also told them that after shutting off the vehicle, the fan blew for another 35 minutes to cool down the car. On July 12, 2024, I was forced to return the car to Jim Ellis due to the same persistent issue. This time, the car was overheating and leaking water under the dashboard. Listed below are all the problems I have had with this vehicle since I purchased The car was reported running hot, and the front hood was hot to touch after driving for 30 minutes. There was a loud noise from the car Noise from car 35 minutes after car has been shut off. I thought I was the fan trying to cool down the vehicle. Water is leaking from under the dashboard by the accelerator pedal. Another issue reported on 8/21/2024 to Potemkin Hyundai The car stops automatically while backing up. Nothing behind me. The car shuts off while switching to reverse or drive. Car stopping while backing up The vehicle rolls backward when shut off. Car shaking vigorously trying to backup out of my driveway. I am the original owner almost at the end of my powertain warranty. At 93 - 94,000 I started to notice whe accelerating, like a distinct shift into different gears at anywhere between 5-7miles and in incrediments up to 40-45 mph. I have brought to the dealer and this week, will be the four time, which they keep telling me if they can not get a code or necessarily re enact there is nothing they can do. I currently have 97,000 and am bringing it back in this week. PLease help.

Car was burning lots of engine oil and lost power, dealer said nothing was wrong with it. months later when to limp mode, lacks of power in the highway, dealer said it lost compression on 2 cylinders and that I need a new engine. I ask them if the vehicle has a recall and they said no, all my research said that this type of engine has a recall for me they are looking for any loophole in order not to replace the engine

The infotainment screen on my 2024 santa fe hybrid started flickering around 3k miles and right now at around 4.5k miles, 95% of the times it stays dark and unresponsive, 5% of the time it comes on but constantly flickers and only works the other 5%. We have no way to monitor reverse camera and for a car with lots of blind spots, this has become a safety hazard. I tried the small reset button next to the right knob on the center console but no results. There's an open Reddit thread on other owners expressing the same concern. This is nothing short of a major safety malfunction that could lead to potential damage to property and/or loss of life

Middle of May 2024 car begins to feel like it's shifting when accelerating and stopping. Nothing found by Hyundai Service Dept. Lakeland. On apx. [XXX] while driving stepped on gas pedal and felt no power. Kept pumping the pedal & car started jerking. Managed to get to light and get in left lane to turn into plaza honking horn. Car slid to a stop at entrance. On apx. [XXX] my husband was driving home and same thing happened. Managed to slide car into our driveway. Both times the car had to be towed to dealership. Two fuel injectors have been changed and when I asked them to change other two they said warranty would not allow. Worst case scenario is if this happens on the interstate traveling at 75 miles per hour. Not only could we be killed but others. Both times there was no warning lights or any other warning. The car just started jerking and lost power. It can very well cause a car to rear end us and a multiple car chain reaction hurting or worse killing others. I am filled with anxiety every time I take the car out for errands. I also saw a similar incident reported in the Better Business Bureau here in Tampa by another person. I reported my incident to Hyundai Corporation by phone and email and asked the rep to reported it to her superiors to see if they could just please let the dealership replace my other two fuel injectors & I was told they could do nothing. The dealership has told me several times the injectors must fail before they can replace. Apparently, the cost of the injectors is more than someone's life. Complete engine failure at 150,000. No check engine or warning lights prior to failure. I was traveling at 75 mph on the freeway when the engine lost power and locked up. I was barely able to make it safely to an exit before it fully shut down. After stopping, oil was profusely leaking out of the vehicle. When levels were checked it was completely empty. I know for a fact the oil was full before driving because I checked it and topped it off. Vehicle has been inspected by the dealership it was purchased from and they confirmed engine failure.
