EXTERIOR LIGHTING
This is to bring attention to the hazards associated with the LED car lights in new cars. You must be aware of complaints that these car headlights are beyond too bright and pose risk to drivers at night. I specifically try not to drive at night because of this hazard. These light are blinding when viewed from oncoming traffic. This is a hazard and must be addressed.

NHTSA SAFETY COMPLAINT – VEHICLE DEFECT Vehicle Information Year: 2023 Make: Honda Model: Civic Component: Steering System Recall Received: Yes – January 2024 Description of the Problem In January 2024 I received a manufacturer recall notice regarding a steering defect on my 2023 Honda Civic. Prior to and after the recall notice, I experienced repeated steering failures including the steering wheel becoming loose, binding, locking during turns, and causing the vehicle to move in the opposite direction of steering input. I reported these issues numerous times to Anderson Honda. Despite being placed on a waiting list for over one year, no effective repair was completed until April 2025. After the recall repair was performed in April 2025, the steering defect continued. The steering wheel still becomes loose, binds during turns, and intermittently locks, causing unpredictable directional control. Incident Resulting From Defect On August 10, 2025, the unresolved steering defect caused a motor vehicle accident when the steering wheel locked and pulled the vehicle in the wrong direction during a turn. I sustained injuries to my neck, head, and back. My insurance carrier (GEICO) paid approximately $11,000 for vehicle body damage repairs related to this crash. Current Status / Ongoing Safety Risk As of January 2026, the steering defect has not been resolved and continues to occur. On January 14, 2026, the steering wheel again abruptly bound and shifted left while turning, this time with my son present in the vehicle, placing us in immediate danger. Honda Corporate has been notified and a case is currently open; however, no permanent repair has been completed and the vehicle remains unsafe to operate. Why This Is a Safety Concern This defect causes sudden loss of steering control and unpredictable vehicle direction. This presents a serious and ongoing risk of collision, injury, or death to myself, my passengers, and other motorists.

“Collision mitigation system problem see dealer” warning! Once at unknown mileage around 6,000 and once at around 10,000 miles. Random vehicle braking around 6-8 times in 12,000 miles with no reason. Braking happens while in cruise control. Both times that the warning messages appeared it was along with warnings for adaptive cruise control, automatic braking, lane departure, lane keep assisting. Many warnings all flashed consecutively with the final warning about collision mitigation system problem see dealer.

The vehicle has experienced ongoing steering-related noise and vibration during driving since early ownership. The issue is noticeable at various speeds and road conditions and affects confidence in steering control and overall vehicle stability. The vehicle has been inspected and serviced multiple times at an authorized dealership, but the condition has not been resolved. During prior service visits, the condition was characterized as unlikely to recur; however, the same issue continued to reappear after service. Following the most recent service visit, the vehicle also began exhibiting brake-related issues, including abnormal noise and behavior during braking. These combined steering, braking, and stability issues affect vehicle control and create a safety concern while driving. The vehicle remains available for inspection upon request.

Prior to receiving official recall repair instructions, I experienced sudden and unexpected issues with the Electronic Power Steering (EPS) system. These issues resulted in a loss of steering control, which caused my vehicle to become involved in an accident [XXX]. This incident not only caused significant damage to my vehicle but also resulted in personal injuries for which I am still recovering. Because the recall repairs were not yet completed at the time of the accident, I was forced to pay out of pocket to repair certain parts that I didn’t know was due to the recall. I have incurred expenses that I should not have been responsible for, as these failures are explicitly recognized by Honda and the NHTSA as safety defects. I contacted Honda. I have a case number Case [XXX]. I was informed to submit documents for any pieces that I did have to buy. did that for about one month after that I was informed that they will not reimburse me for any damages that was correspondence Accident as I have a lot of damage to the front passenger side of my car as I ran into the cement barrier on the highway. Before this accident, I did not have any warning, lamps, messages or symptoms problems with my car. Not sure how I will pay for all these repairs. I contacted Honda to see if I can get the recalls done, but I still have damage to my vehicle due to the accident cause by recall, I did not know there were two recalls to my vehicle until after the accident, I took it to the mechanic and he let me know there’s an issue with my rack. I need to go contact Honda. I would like to know who will reimburse me or pay for the bodywork that I need time to my vehicle. entering [XXX] heading to Jersey City from Bayonne. The contact leased a 2024 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH, and making a lane change, the steering wheel overcorrected the change due to the automatic lane corrector and swerved across two lanes inadvertently, and collided with a semitruck and then into a wall. The air bag deployed, and the driver's seat belt independently unlatched. The contact stated that the seat belt unbuckled at some point during the collision. The contact sustained face burns and lacerations, right arm/shoulder, and right side rib injuries. Medical attention was needed for the contact. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a lot where the vehicle was deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 22,083.

The check engine, master cylinder, and adaptive cruise control warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the brake master cylinder, fuel pump, and ignition coils needed to be replaced. The contact researched and was made aware of an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.

I am reporting repeated electronic safety system malfunctions in my 2023 Honda Civic Sport sedan that occurred while driving at highway speeds and present a serious safety concern. In June 2025, while driving at highway speed, multiple warning lights and messages suddenly appeared, including: Brake System Warning, Road Departure Mitigation System Warning, Parking Brake/Brake Hold Warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control Warning. These warnings appeared simultaneously without prior notice, raising concern about whether the braking and safety systems were functioning properly while the vehicle was in motion. I took the vehicle to a Honda dealership for diagnosis. The dealer did not identify a specific electronic or mechanical defect and instead claimed the issue was caused by liquid spilled near the electronic parking brake switch. I was told the repair was not covered under warranty and paid approximately $600 out of pocket. No evidence was provided explaining how this would cause failures across multiple safety systems. In January 2026, the same group of warning lights appeared again under similar conditions while driving at highway speed. This recurrence strongly suggests the issue was not caused by driver error but may be related to an intermittent electronic, sensor, or control system defect. I have a scheduled dealer appointment tomorrow to address this second occurrence of electronic malfunctioning. Because these warnings involve critical braking and collision mitigation systems and occurred while the vehicle was in motion, they present a potential safety risk. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA can document and evaluate whether this represents a broader safety defect.

I am filing a formal safety-related complaint regarding my 2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid and the performance of its driver assistance systems. This vehicle uses a camera-only driver assist and lane keeping system. I previously owned a 2018 Honda Civic Touring that used both radar and camera. The earlier radar+camera system performed significantly better, maintained the lane more accurately, and provided smoother, more predictable behavior. The 2025 camera-only system frequently: – drifts within the lane – loses lane tracking unexpectedly – requires frequent driver intervention – feels less stable at highway speeds In my opinion, the newer vehicle’s system represents a downgrade in functional safety compared with prior-generation Honda systems. This change was not disclosed during the sales process, and many owners may assume newer models offer equal or better driver-assist performance. My concern is that removal of radar and reliance on camera-only sensing has resulted in degraded lane keeping performance that could increase crash risk due to unexpected disengagement or poor lane centering. I request this information be reviewed as part of consumer safety monitoring of driver assistance systems. NEW VEHICLE PURCHASE THAT DID NOT INCLUDE SPARE TIRE OR ANY SORT OF JACK OR TOOLS TO REMOVE TIRE. VEHICLE HAS AIR PUMP AND A CAN OF FIX A FLAT (WHICH WILL FREEZE IN THE TRUNK IN MY STATE, WYOMING MAKING IT UNUSEABLE) DRIVING A VEHICLE IN WYO ALSO CREATS A PROBLEM OF CALLING A TOW TRUCK DUE TO NO CELL OR PHONE SERVICE IN MANY AREAS. PUTING FIX A FLAT IN THE TIRE CREATES AN UNBALANCE PROBLEM WHICH DAMAGES THE TIRE IF DRIVEN A LONG DISTANCE OR NOT DRIVEN ALLOWING THE SOLUTION TO HARDEN IN ONE SPOT OR FREEZES. MANY OTHER PROBLEMS CAN ARISE BUT IN SHORT, WHY HAVE YOU ALLOWED THE MFGS TO REMOVE A VITAL SAFETY TOOL.

My steering has a very bad clunk, i have been told my honda and other technician that rack and pinion is internally damaged. I waited for the recall and when i went in for my recall honda only added grease which stopped my steering to stick but the damage has been done, because for almost 2 years i drove the car with sticky steering wheel and i believe bec8of not enough grease in the rack it has damage the steering rack and im out of warranty like my other like me.

My car has sticky steering when making turns and has a difficult time making micro adjustments. This appears to be the same issue that there is a recall for but my VIN is not recalled. This is a huge safety issue as the steering is more difficult to control on the highways, turning on and off ramps, driving straight, etc. I find myself having to pull the wheel back to center to straighten it out after a turn and when making adjustments on the highway, the wheel jerks back and forth. Honda has refused to fix the issue since I am 9k miles out of warranty. The dealer diagnosed my issue as an internal failure of Honda's part and wants to charge me $5400 to replace their faulty steering rack. They refuse to cover this because I am out of warranty even though this is a safety issue and is the result of their faulty part.

Summary of the Issue: My 2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring has experienced repeated windshield cracking without any impact, debris strike, or external cause. This raises serious concerns about windshield integrity, structural safety, and potential manufacturing defects. ________________________________________ Incident Details First Windshield Crack – March 2025 •Around March 2025, the original windshield developed a crack with no impact to the glass or vehicle. •The crack originated at the lower left-hand edge of the windshield. •Honda replaced the windshield at a cost of $1,623.96, which I had to pay. •The crack appeared spontaneously and spread quickly. Second Windshield Crack – December 24, 2025 •On December 24, 2025, the replacement windshield also cracked without any impact. •This time, the crack began at the top right side of the windshield. •I discovered the crack when approaching the parked vehicle; there was no event that could have caused damage. ________________________________________ Safety and Financial Concerns •The vehicle is still under the manufacturer’s warranty and has only 16,653 miles. •The cost of windshield replacement is extremely high due to required ADAS camera recalibration, which is mandatory for safety systems to function properly. •Repeated spontaneous cracking raises concerns about: oStructural integrity of the windshield oPotential manufacturing or design defects oCompromised performance of ADAS safety features oRisk of sudden visibility obstruction while driving

A brand-new 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid sold by Lehigh Valley Honda had inoperative front and rear windshield defoggers immediately upon delivery. The defect caused persistent windshield fogging, severely impairing visibility in rain and cold conditions. The selling dealership refused to perform warranty repairs and stated the issue was in all Hondas. The vehicle was unsafe to operate due to impaired visibility, creating a potential crash hazard.

I’ve taken my car to the dealer multiple times for an issue with steering and a loud clunk in my front end that wasn’t there when I bought it. I’ve constantly been told it’s normal or nothing is wrong but it’s becoming a real concern for me to drive I’ve almost been veered into oncoming traffic because the car wanders and steering doesn’t react very well. I’ve tried switching wheels and tires and still same issue. I need help because this car is unsafe to drive.
