Today, an SRS warning message unexpectedly appeared on my vehicle’s dashboard. I drove the vehicle normally earlier in the morning without any warning lights, messages, or other symptoms. When I returned to my vehicle after work and started it, the SRS message appeared for the first time. There was no accident, collision, impact, or other known event that occurred between the time I drove the vehicle in the morning and when the warning appeared. I have had no prior accidents involving this vehicle and am not aware of any damage or circumstances that would have caused a problem with the Supplemental Restraint System. The vehicle had been operating normally prior to this warning appearing. The unexpected SRS warning is concerning because the SRS system includes important safety components such as the airbags and seat-belt restraint system, and a malfunction could potentially prevent these safety features from functioning properly in the event of a crash. At this time, I do not know which specific SRS component has malfunctioned, and the vehicle has not yet been diagnosed by a dealer or independent service center. The vehicle is available for inspection and diagnosis. I am reporting this issue to NHTSA because the warning appeared suddenly and without any apparent cause, and I would like the issue documented and investigated to determine whether it may be related to a broader safety defect or an existing recall affecting other vehicles of the same make, model, or model year. I am requesting that NHTSA review this complaint and determine whether this SRS issue is consistent with other reported safety concerns or whether my vehicle’s VIN should be considered for inclusion in a recall or other safety action.

I am the owner of two 2018 Honda Civic EX vehicles that were purchased new and maintained according to Honda's recommended service schedule. Both vehicles have experienced repeated air-conditioning system failures over several years. Both vehicles previously required condenser replacements under Honda's extended warranty program for known air-conditioning defects. My wife's 2018 Honda Civic EX, with approximately 60,000 miles, recently experienced another air-conditioning failure and required yet another condenser replacement. My second 2018 Honda Civic EX developed similar symptoms including poor cooling performance and cold air from the passenger-side vents while warm air came from the driver-side vents. A Honda dealership diagnosed a failed evaporator core and provided a repair estimate of approximately $1,953. Collectively, the two vehicles have experienced multiple air-conditioning failures despite proper maintenance and normal use. The repeated failures involving major air-conditioning components suggest a systemic defect rather than normal wear and tear. Honda was contacted regarding goodwill assistance but declined coverage based on vehicle age. I am filing this report because two identically equipped 2018 Honda Civic vehicles owned by the same family have experienced recurring air-conditioning system failures involving multiple components.

Vehicle: 2019 Honda Civic (1.5L turbo), VIN [XXX] Mileage at failure: ~167,000 Component: Engine — head gasket Description: My 2019 Honda Civic with the 1.5L turbocharged engine suffered a blown head gasket, diagnosed by my Honda dealer. The car was purchased brand new from the same dealership. Symptoms were coolant loss with no visible external leak — coolant was leaking internally into the cylinders, causing misfires. This is a known defect with the 1.5L turbo engine affecting 2016–2021 Civics. Honda issued a warranty extension for this exact failure (10 years / 150,000 miles), which acknowledges the defect, but my vehicle was just over the mileage limit at 167,000 miles. The dealer denied any goodwill assistance. A federal class action lawsuit (XXX v. American Honda Motor Co., Case XXX) has been filed over this same engine defect. Safety concern: Coolant leaking into the cylinders causes engine misfires and can lead to sudden loss of power while driving. An engine misfire or stall at highway speed creates a clear crash risk. This is not normal wear — it is a documented design defect that Honda has attempted to correct with revised parts in later model years. This product at issue is a used 2005 Honda Civic (Vin; [XXX]) purchased at Left Coast Auto Sales LLC XXX .from [XXX]. The primary issues are that the dealership sold an unroadworthy vehicle with severe, hidden mechanical defects and critical safety violations, and subsequently refused a formal demand for contract rescission and a full refund. The vehicle was advertised on Facebook Marketplace as a safe, reliable vehicle in good working condition. The contract was signed XXX. The vehicle was delivered with multiple severe safety violations that make it completly illegal and hazardous to drive, which we have independent documentation too prove from Big O tires. This readout confirms critical safety failures including an active airbag system (SRS) defect. That was hidden prior to sale by recent code clearance. It also includes illegal safety restraint violations, including completely missing rear seatbelt buckles and a cut, unsecured passenger side seatbelt. Official mileage tracking proves I only put 44 miles on the vehicle before this inspection, proving these severe hazards existed at the time of sale. This certified mechanic documentation is fully preserved and available on request. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

When driving, especially at highway speeds where only minor tracking adjustments are needed, the steering wheel can feel like it is momentarily sticking or catching. Having to exert sudden, extra physical effort to "break" the wheel free from this sticky point. This often leads to momentary overcorrection, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.

This car brakes at least once a week while using adaptive cruise control despite zero carsz people or anything at all being in front of me. It's extremely common and dangerous. Look on Honda forums on Facebook or I suspect anywhere else and you'll see. I had a 2023 Honda HRV and never had such issues. I don't know what they've changed but it's unsafe. They're going to literally kill someone.

I purchased this car used about a year ago from the Honda dealership, since then I have noticed very tight steering when driving straight, people behind me say I look like I’m swerving back-and-forth. Also, when taking slight turns like an on-ramp the wheel completely sticks in that direction, and I have to jerk it back into position. Very concerning since I drive this car with my family and children in it. Luckily I have not gotten into an accident yet, but I’m afraid it will happen if I don’t get this repaired.

On September 17, 2026 at approximately 8:00 a.m. I was driving my 2021 Honda civic Lx with my children in the vehicle when multiple warning lights and system malfunction messages suddenly appeared on the dash board. The vehicle appeared to experience an electrical malfunction/ reset while still driving and I suddenly lost normal power- steering assistance. The steering wheel became extremely difficult to turn and control while the vehicle was moving.I was able to call for assistance and when jumper cables were hooked on to battery underneath the vehicles hood the vehicle engine was able to restart, then was able to get the vehicle home without a collision or injury. The sudden loss of steering assistance created a serious safety risk to me, my children and others on the road. I photographed multiple warnings displayed on the dash panel, including Electric Parking break problem and collision mitigation system problem. This vehicle has a documented history of electrical/ mechanical concerns and prior repairs, including battery and alternator replacement. The exact cause of this most recent failure is currently UNKNOWN. American Honda motor co. has also opened a case #16640343 regarding this incident. I am reporting this to NHTSA due to the sudden loss of power- steering assistance occured while the vehicle was actively being driven and could have resulted in a collision.

The steering on is off even after they fixed the steering recall. The driving feel wobbly and my tires are wearing uneven. Since honda ‘took care’ of the recall they keep saying its fine but the steering feels loose and there is a definite wheel wobble. This is frustrating cause ive been complaining about this since 29k and it now has 38k with no fix and now i might need tires. All because honda doesn't want to take responsibility for their bad steering rack ans components.

There are several defective parts of the AC system that are well-known warranty covered parts that Honda has not replaced. I have taken the car to the dealership for Honda of Vacaville several times stating the issues of bad smells in vents and blowing hot air. They wanted to charge over $4,000 for repairs. I attempted to use my extended warranty and they scheduled me weeks in advance just to tell me the day of the appointment that they don’t have the part. It is an extreme health and safety issue since my [XXX] toddler son and I have had to drive without air conditioner for over 3 months now in over 100 degree Fahrenheit temperatures. Children’s bodies cannot handle this heat and I should not have to pocket the costs of a bad AC system that was never fixed in the right time. Failed braking after repairing 9/14/26, Sun Auto did not bleed my brakes after installing front pads and rear shoes. When I brought this to the Service writer's attention on 9/18/26 his response was that I did not purchase the brake fluid service. Yes an independent Brake shop inspected and resolved the issue.

1. Steering gearbox assembly failed. 2. Steering veers in lanes without assistance from driver and driver has to control vehicle with force to stay in center lane and release sticky steering. 3. Problem was reproduced and confirmed by two different independent NAPA certified service centers. 4. By manufacturer Honda dealer 5. No warning lights as the gearbox is mechanical, no warning lights prior or current to notify driver. Driver can only feel the sticky wheel symptoms while driving. At 74,000 miles on a 2019 Honda Civic Sport Sedan. Symptoms occurred driving at high speeds on highway. High safety risk to others and driver. I am filing a complaint due to excessive research on the symptoms of my steering gearbox. I have found that the 2022 and up models have the same symptoms as my 2019 is experiencing with sticky wheel. There needs to be a recall as it is negligent for Honda to not make sure people are safe when driving their cars. Steering is the main and most important component of a car and for Honda to not recognize this issue has been throughout their cars from 2017 due to a manufacturing flaw in the gearbox design. Consumers are paying 4-6000k to replace the gearbox assembly that Honda should have ultimately covered on 2017 models and up. Due to the high price out of pocket consumers are risking lives not getting it fixed because it is not affordable or recalled. Recall should be issued for 2017 civics and above not just 2022 and above. Please advise.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving and making turns on several occasions, the vehicle overcorrected. The contact stated that the steering wheel needed to be yanked while turning to steer the vehicle correctly and avoid driving off the road. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and restarted, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the electronic rack had failed, causing the steering wheel to stick, and the gearbox assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering rack and pinion had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V663000 (Steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 111,700.

The air conditioner compressor failed on my car at about 85,000 miles. My mechanic told me that they are noticing many 2019-2022 Honda Civics with the exact same problem, with the A/C compressor failing at about the same mileage. My mechanic replaced the compressor with a new Honda compressor. The cost was about $2,700. I've attached the invoice. The failure of the A/C compressor is a threat to safety for the following reasons: Loss of Windshield Defrosting: If the windows fogged up and I could not clear them because the AC failed, this blocks my vision and is a direct safety hazard. Engine Stalling or Serpentine Belt Failure: If the compressor locked up (seized) and broke my car's belt, it could cause me to lose power steering, battery charging, or engine cooling while driving. Extreme Heat Risk: If the AC failed in extreme summer heat (which is exactly what happened to me - it failed in July and I was without A/C for more than 6 weeks in the summer) it would put vulnerable passengers (like children or elderly family members) at risk for their health. Given the testimony of my mechanic that this same failure is happening to many Civic owners (2019-2022) at about the same engine age, I'd like it considered whether a recall is appropriate.

Report: Peeling white pearl paint on my Honda civic. The car is 3 years old and already on the hood peeling off. I-Car certified body shop looked at the car and immediately said factory defect upon testing. They have told me no primer for paint to adhere to... will force me to repaint entire hood and front bumper. Honda has unjustifiably denied warranty coverage even with paper work proof from that shop (breach of warranty legally) though the car is under 36k miles. Will mention this is my second Honda suffering peeling paint after new. Previous civic was a 2020 with paint peeling off mirrors, roof, and handles. Will mention my white color is listed in a lawsuit for this exact defect. Platinum white pearl paint code - 2023 Hatchback civic. Why this is a serious problem? Rust concerns. Can cause structural issues if peeling is not addressed. It is a costly issue, not to mention severely damaging to car value. Will not be buying another Honda after this one due to similar defects. Feel like Honda is not being honest to people, and are deliberately concealing a defect at this point. I personally am angry, and justifiably so. Bought this car from Allen Honda in College Station as far as where with 26k miles new and was denied help. If Honda sees this complaint my message is simple. I've had enough, and will take my money elsewhere. Going to fix this myself with a professional who has seen this before so it never happens again.

I have a christmas tree of lights on my dashboard, I cant use my cruise control or lane assist features. I took my car to a Honda dealership to have a diagnostic done and found that the EPB on the left rear brake was bad. I changed it out and had the computer reset to find that the car is still having issues and now I'm being told to change out the ABS wheel speed sensor that connects to the EPB. When looking online this is a commonly known issue with the 2022 and 2023 Civic sport touring and Honda is aware of this and are trying to get out of having to fix it. This is a huge concern for me because I'm currently living in [XXX] right now for work and have to park on an incline and have been told that at any point the parking brake can give out and my car can take off. This is a huge safety issue that could severely hurt someone, Honda needs to take responsibility for their poor build and fix it before someone gets seriously injured. For some of us not parking on a hill isn't an option. Please please please help us get this issue resolved and make them take responsibility of their poor design. Thank You!
