No airbags deployed in the event of an accident. As a result of hydroplaning, my vehicle's drivers' side slammed into the concrete median on the highway before spinning out across the highway. I would have expected side/curtain airbags to deploy which would have prevented my children from hitting their heads on the windows during impact.

Filing a complaint with NHTSA that GM does not have a date when the front driver airbag can be replaced per recall Number [XXX]. This is a very dangerous airbag currently in my 2015 GM Arcadia [XXX] . The vehicle is not safe to drive and per phone call with GM customer service today 8/3/2023 there is no date when parts/replacement airbag will be available to order to replace the current airbag and eliminate the daily dangerous situation every time I drive this vehicle. POWER TRAIN
After being driving vehicle will not shift into park. When shifter is moved into park position vehicle is not recognizing this and will continue to move. Gear shifter has to be wiggled around for vehicle to finally get into park or at all. Safety concerns - if vehicle is not in park mode vehicle can roll away or continue to move causing damage or injury to persons or property. Online research indicates this is a nationwide problem and there are several lawsuits against gmc concerning this issue. All instances seem to be associated with the Acadia.

The contact owned a 2014 GMC Acadia. The contact stated while her daughter was driving 35 MPH, a vehicle behind her had passed her vehicle and cut in front of her vehicle, and slowed. The contact stated that the daughter was driving into the sun on the road and was unable to see that the vehicle had cut in front of her and had slowed, the daughter crashed into the passenger side of the other vehicle with her front end. The contact stated that her daughter's vehicle had extensive damage to the front end and was not drivable. The contact stated that her daughter's head and face hit the steering wheel from the impact. The front air drivers air bag had not been deployed. The contact stated that her daughter's mouth and front teeth had been broken and her gums lacerated. The contact stated that her daughter's father drove her to an oral surgeon. The contact stated that the police were on the scene and wrote a report. The contact's vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The contact stated that her insurance provider had declared the vehicle a total loss. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 220,000.

POWER TRAIN, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Check engine light came on for the TCM. Car has had issues shifting (very rough shifting) and the manual shift option does not work. Was told the TCM had to be replaced. Attempt was made to replace it with a refurbished TCM but that couldn't be programmed to the car. Was then told I would have to buy a brand new one, which is very expensive, and that there was no guarantee that would fix the problem. Car can not be driven over 20mph without risking burning up the transmission. Car also jerks forward very hard when trying to gently accelerate.

POWER TRAIN
My Wife and I purchased the 2017 GMC Acadia All Terrain in August 2017. It always had some low gear hard engagement issues. It also had issues of not locking into park when placing in Park. If we released and re-shifted it would engage. On two occasions we had the GMC dealership Durand GMC Leominster MA. check the transmission. Around 34,000 miles and again around 55,00 0 miles On both occasions they claimed they could not recreate the incident I complained about. I told them I believed that to be impossible as it was common, especially going up hill. The service manager was adamant that their was no issue. As I was close to my powertrain warranty expiring I asked again with the same response. In May we started having serious transmission slippage, It became dangerous so we took it to Durand and they found a hole in a fluid tube caused by wear from a support clip. Their repair cost was high, I took it to a respected mechanic. He repaired the tube, unfortunately, the slipppage got worst and we will replace the transmission. My internet research shows many incidents like mine. I want to make it known that my vehicle concerns were swept under the rug. Car stalled on major roadway. Could not restart of shift to neutral. Car blocked traffic for 3 hours until tow. Faulty fuel control module was the cause. Car was almost hit numerous times by passing traffic.

The contact owns a 2017 GMC Acadia equipped with Bridgestone Tires, Tire Line: Dueler H/L Alenza Plus, Tire Size: P255/55/R20. The contact stated that rear driver’s side tire had continually experienced the loss of air pressure. While the vehicle was in for service, the mechanic stated that all the four tires were dry rotted and might continue to experience the failure.
