Made an appointment with a Ford dealership to take a look at my 2018 Ford F-150 10 speed transmission on 12th May of 2026 they said everything checked out. I brought it in because the transmission was slipping and shifting very hard .they said everything checked out and was fine on the 12th of May and two days later my truck didn't want to start up. I had a notification from Ford on my Ford app saying I had a malfunction powertrain or transmission issue and a wrench symbol lit up on my dash. I took it back to Ford dealership on the 14th and they took a look at it and they could not get anything to come up on their History check so they did a hard reset after they had it for about a week .I got it back on the 19th of May and it was still continually slipping and shifting hard so I made an appointment with a local transmission shop and they inspected it and told me to transmission was shot so they installed a rebuilt transmission. At that time this said transmission only had 42,668.8 mi on it and truck does not do any towing or hauling

Turn signal stalk binds up intermittently, requiring excessive force to deactivate signaling. Most commonly occurs after signaling to toward the right. This has been occurring intermittently shortly after vehicle purchase, but has become more common over the past year. Safety is affected due to the amount of force being required having the potential to cause the driver to inadvertently jerk the steering wheel left while attempting to deactivate the signal. No inspections have been performed and this vehicle has not yet been assessed by a dealer or independent service center. No warnings or other associated indicators of this issue have been noted.

I was on the highway and my truck suddenly decreased speed rapidly. Luckily I was able to pull onto a side road and get to safety but it was extremely dangerous and scary situation. The dealer has confirmed the symptoms fit the issue with the recall. Since Ford does not have a fix for this solution yet until July 1 my vehicle is unable to be driven or repaired leaving me stranded without a vehicle. However, this is a very concerning safety issue and my family could have been severely impacted traveling on the highway.

The truck has sporadically gone into “limp” mode for 6+ years. In the last 4 weeks it has happened a total of 6 times while driving. On Tuesday 6/9/2026 it happened while leaving a driveway. I was able to disconnect the battery and let the throttle body reset. I reconnected the battery, it started and drove without problems. I connected a loaded horse trailer, drove approximately 12 miles and it happened again, this time on a two lane road with a soft , uneven shoulder going from 60 miles per hour to 8 miles per hour very quickly. I was able to turn on my hazard lights and pull onto the grass, but only about 5 inches off the 60 mph road. In order to reset the throttle body, I disconnected the battery again, disabling the hazard lights while vehicles passed by narrowly colliding with us several times. The check engine light was illuminated, but I was not in a safe place to scan the truck. It usually disappears after resetting the throttle body, but did not this time. After 10 minutes, I heard the throttle body click, it started up and I drove another 15 miles when it happened again. This time at a temporary stoplight with no shoulder. I was able to scan the computer and the P2111 code was displayed. I reset the throttle body again, drove 5 miles and it happened again. I was able to navigate to a safer area, reset the throttle body again and drive less than two miles home. On 6/11, after letting the truck sit for two days, I started it with no issue to move the trailer and it happened again. I tried resetting the throttle body again and if did not work. The P2111 code is still showing and the throttle body will not reset. The truck is currently inoperable. It will only idle, roughly, and pressing the accelerator pedal had no effect on the truck.

First time it happened on a side road. The vehicle stopped shifting. The wrench illuminated on the dashboard.Following the incident. The vehicle continued to drive slowly without shifting. Shortly after that, the wrench symbol disappeared and the truck operated normally. Second time an incident occurred was two weeks later. I was on a side street when the second incident occurred. The wrench appeared. The truck stopped shifting. It remained in first or second gear. The accelerator is unresponsive.

The turn signal stalk on my 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning intermittently requires excessive force to manually cancel after turns and lane changes. The stalk self-cancels normally roughly 50% of the time, but when the steering wheel does not rotate far enough to trigger automatic cancellation the driver must manually return the stalk to center. The condition is most reliably reproduced when the cabin has been elevated in temperature for an extended period and subsides once cooled. The issue predominantly affects right-hand turns and lane changes. The affected component is the turn signal stalk switch pack (multifunction switch), available for inspection. Diagnostic scanning confirmed DTC B124C stored in the SCCM. Based on my research this code indicates a Turn Indicator Stalk Switch Pack fault. The safety risk is threefold: first, a stalk that does not self-cancel sends false signals to other drivers. Second, manually forcing the stalk back to center diverts driver attention from vehicle control. Third, when the stalk releases under applied force it does so suddenly and without warning, and if the driver's hand is on the steering wheel this can cause an involuntary steering input, risking unintended lane departure at highway speeds. I am the second owner, having purchased from a dealership at approximately 60,000 miles. The defect was present at purchase and has worsened progressively to approximately 76,000 miles. The vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer as it is outside warranty. No warning lamp is present; however DTC B124C is confirmed via diagnostic scanning. I documented the issue in a video post which received responses from numerous affected owners: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Transmission began shifting very hard into 3rd gear. Later the transmission got stuck in 4th gear and would not shift out of it, even at a complete stop. Was able to manually shift down to 3rd gear after a few minutes, then it started to shift normal. Lately the transmission has shifted from 7th gear to 1st gear and back to 7th gear, from 8th gear to 1st gear back to 8th gear, and twice it has shifted from 10th gear to 1st gear back to 10th gear. This happen while on a major roadway going 30-50 mph. I lose all throttle response for a few seconds during this process. It is a frightening experience. Not being able to control the speed of the vehicle or being able to accelerate is not safe. Many times at stop signs/crosswalks the vehicle will lunge ahead abruptly while shifting up gears. The truck is currently at the Ford Dealer, they say that it needs a new transmission. They said the Ford 10 speed transmission is known to have issues and they are backed up with this type of work. No warning lights or messages ever appeared. The hard shifting into 3rd gear started in the late fall, but the other shifting issues began early spring.

10r80 transmission failure. Ford dealer told me that ford is aware of the defective components in the 10r80 pre 2022, issued guidance on what updated components they designed to replace defective ones, and never issued a recall. Said this is very common but company won’t take responsibility or assist with the $10K repair.

My 2014 Ford F-150 is exhibiting symptoms consistent with the Ford transmission molded lead frame safety recall 24S37. While driving approximately 55 mph late at night on a five-lane roadway, the vehicle suddenly and violently jerked, downshifted and came to a complete stop becoming stalled out as I was approaching a major traffic intersection. The truck was disabled in traffic and would not restart for approximately 2-3 minutes, leaving me stranded in an active travel lane and at risk of being struck from behind by another vehicle at high speed. The vehicle has displayed transmission-related symptoms including inability to correctly indicate gear position, harsh shifting, unexpected downshifts into 1st gear while driving, transmission fault warnings, and check engine lights. Initially it was mostly dying while idling and we thought it was the common "Fuse 27" issue, being unaware of the recall. Then the condition reproduced multiple times and symptoms worsened dramatically. Ford dealership inspected the vehicle. According to the technician's written report, the truck was found to be "having transmission problems, unable see what gear the truck is in and shifts to 1st gear while driving" and recommended replacement of the molded lead frame. The dealership confirmed transmission-related diagnostic trouble codes were present and documented symptoms consistent with lead frame failure. Despite the recommendation of the lead frame replacement and documenting symptoms consistent with the safety recall, the repair was not approved. The vehicle continues to experience symptoms associated with the recalled defect and is unsafe to drive away. Dealership confirms software update will not correct problem. I am submitting this complaint as the transmission defect poses a significant safety hazard to me, my children, and other drivers due to unexpected downshifts, loss of power, stalling, and the risk of becoming disabled in traffic. The truck remains available to inspect

The transmission failed while driving. While accelerating to speed, there was a "clunk" and then the vehicle was unable to shift to another gear, stuck in 7th. The vehicle lurched continuously, decelerated suddenly, and I was unable to shift up or down. Cars behind me swerved to avoid hitting me. Luckily I was able to drive at below speed with hazards lights flashing to the nearby dealership. Truck has completed every recommended maintenance check and only has 65,600 miles on it. Repair costs for new transmission were stated to me at $9800 by the dealership. There were no warning signs or symptoms prior to the failure. However, reading multiple online complaints indicates Ford has known about the defect for the 10R80 transmission failure for years, as early as 2017, and there is a recall for this for model years 2017-2018. This is clearly a safety issue, and I am lucky I was not on the highway at high speed nor had my grandchildren in the vehicle.

Vehicle began randomly downshifting while driving causing the wheels to lock up. Would have to pull over and shut the vehicle off. Showed Engine code for lead frame which I had replaced but ford does not want to reimburse me because they have not released an official remedy for the recall.

Initially; I thought someone rear ended my truck, but it turned out to be a severe shifting problem when accelerating. I took the truck to a Ford Authorized Service Dealer and they told me about the well documented "10R80 mechanical hardware defect (CDF drum migration)" transmission problem for Ford model years 2017-2022. There were no warning messages or symptoms that I remember. The truck has 142,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V237000 (Power Train); however, the part required for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle suddenly ran rough and shifted into neutral(N). The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond and entered LIMP mode. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road, where the brakes were applied, and the vehicle was turned off. After about half an hour, the contact's son arrived and assisted the contact in driving to a nearby parking lot. The vehicle was then driven to the dealer below 40 MPH. The service traction control and power train warning lights illuminated. The dealer informed the contact that no diagnostic trouble code was retrieved; however, the contact was charged for the diagnostic test. The contact stated that the failure occurred twice, and the vehicle became operable. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 126,112.

Vertical Daytime Running Lamp is out and from doing multiple hours of research it looks as if it was a quality control issue. The LED board was not secured internally and it caused an LED to touch the tube and burned it. It is very common on 2021-2023 models and the manufacturer changed it for 2024. Please we need to get this as a recall.
