While driving my 2020 F150 VIN # [XXX], at highway speeds, transmission abruptly shifts down to 1st gear then back to 9th gear and does not advance to 10th Gear. Also, while accelerating, at 3 gear shift to 4th, there is a slipping of the transmission and eventually it kicks in to 6th gear. When the downshift occurs at highway speeds, the transmission slows immediately where we have to pull over or get hit by traffic in our lane. This problem was confirmed by an independent Service center once i took it in. Other than the independent service center, i have not had anyone else inspect the vehicle. When this error happens, i get a wrench light come on and it will not go away until i shut off the engine and wait 1 min or so, then restart the truck. In one incident, when the truck was rolling at highway speed and the downshift occurred, the rear wheels locked as though i had hit the breaks. Cam phaser rattle, infamous in many ford models. The 2019 eco boost is very known for this sound and issue, ford has offered temporary resolutions and assistance before but no permanent fix. This issue affects hundreds of thousand of ford models and is quoted at a $5,500 job by many dealers. Ford Owners are aware of the issue and so are ford dealers. It is no longer a temporary issue and is long overdue for a recall.

- #11744886June 17, 2026SERVICE BRAKES
My 2017 Ford F-150 is subject to safety recall 25V236 / 25S37 for a faulty brake master cylinder that can leak fluid and cause a loss of front braking function. I contacted the dealership to have the safety repair completed, but I was informed that the necessary replacement parts are on indefinite backorder with no estimated arrival date. No interim safety defect remedy or loaner vehicle has been provided by the manufacturer. I am forced to drive a vehicle with a known, critical braking defect, posing an immediate safety risk to myself and others on the road. The manufacturer has failed to remedy this safety recall in a timely manner.

Horn stopped working. Took to dealer they diagnosed horn pin from bcm to bjb has pulled from wire. Said part to fix has 90 people waiting and indefinite wait time. Or can replace entire wire harness for $1700. After reading on Ford Forum learned this is common problem for truck. In NC horn is mandatory to pass inspection . This is definitely a safety issue

2024 Ford F150 tremor 14,000 miles The gearshift modual locks into position and locks the transmission (light blinking and transmission light shows on dashboard) You cannot shift to park or start the car, it will do this in drive or reverse and locks the transmission. A hard reset does not solve the issue. The First time this happened l was with my wife and two young children in the mountains around 30miles from cell service. This is a major safety issue. The dealership cannot replicate it, and therefore wont replace it even though it is a known issue. tsb 26-2066 I do have a video of this happening. Fortunately the second time this happened I was close to home. The vehicle occasionally leaves us stranded due to an un-replicated transmission lock flaw.

There is a manufacturing defect that is causing water to to enter the vehicle when driving in the rain. Where this becomes a significant safety issue is that the water enters somewhere near the bottom of the windshield (source still not determined) and runs down the pillar over the fuse box and BCM (neither is protected from the water). This could lead to an electrical short on any of the major modules of the vehicle unpredictably. the leak is confirmed but source is still to be determined by the dealership after 2 visits. In searching the web, this seems to be a fairly common issue on this generation of F150 trucks. I'll attach the pictures I could get but can never get one with the water actually coming in live

When using the window wipers, they become inoperable. Stopping in the middle of the window, pausing when moving, or completely stopping and unable to get them to start moving until they begin to move on their own. This has occurred multiple times and at multiple different speeds of operation for the wipers. This was a previous recall issued by Ford that has been completed on the vehicle yet the same result is occurring.

Purchased my F 150 2017 King Ranch New from Auto Nation in Ft Worth Texas. Started having transmission problems and dealer did several computer updates. Moved in 2020 to Caldwell Texas and problems continued. Very hard shifting between gears (loud bang and jerking of vehicle). Then twice while traveling at about 60 miles per hour the transmission appeared to shift to much lower gear and engine RPM jumped to red line on tack. Required emergency move to shoulder because speed was also reduced. New Ford Dealer in Caldwell was unable to duplicate problem but recommended I take to a transmission expert (Oliver Brothers Transmission, Bryan Texas). Had dealer change fluids in transmission and rear differential before taking to Oliver Bros. Oliver Brothers believed the transmission may have a bad valve body. At that time I was afraid of transmission down shifting at the wrong time and causing me to wreck. Took back to Ford Dealership in Caldwell and told them to replace transmission. They replaced complete transmission and the hard shifting went away and so did the down shifting, this was 06/2023. I later traded in the truck for a new 2024 F 150.

On Friday, June 12, 2026, the check engine light illuminated on my vehicle. I took it to my local Ford dealer on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The dealer diagnosed the issue as a defective Gear Shift Module (GSM) and quoted approximately $1,000 for replacement. The service advisor informed me that failure to repair this component could result in the vehicle becoming unable to shift into Park or unable to shift out of Park. This defect poses a serious safety risk, as it could prevent the truck from being properly secured when parked, potentially allowing it to roll away, into traffic, or cause injury to persons or property. Ford is aware of this issue, as a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has been issued for it. However, the repair is currently being treated as a customer-pay item rather than a warranty or safety-related repair. This condition represents a significant safety concern that could affect many other 2024 F-150 owners. I urge NHTSA to investigate this matter promptly to determine if a recall or mandatory safety fix is warranted. I am available to provide additional details, including the dealership repair order, diagnostic information, and any supporting documentation. Thank you for your attention to this important vehicle safety issue.

Ford has a known issue with the 2019 f150 eco boost cam phaser rattling. They replaced once and it failed again. They now refuse to repair the fix that should have corrected the initial cam phaser issue. They continue to use faulty parts.

We received the safety recal 26V237 in May. Today 6/16/26, while driving the vehicle, it began acting like the recal said, however, the truck failed and will not start. My husband went and purchased a battery first because we didn't realize it was the recall at first. We cannot go without the vehicle. We will need to have someone tow the car once there is a repair available, however, in the mean time, we need a loaner/replacement truck. We called the number on the form, but they could not help with a failed vehicle and we called the manufacturer, but there is no button for the vehicle is failed and we need help. It hung up on us because they don't have a fix for the defect, there is nothing on the warning about what to do when the vehicle fails and you don't yet have a fix.

The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V237000 (POWER TRAIN). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 93,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted or shifted hard on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be taken apart to be diagnosed; however, no diagnostic trouble code was retrieved. Additionally, the vehicle was taken to a transmission specialist, where the transmission, the transmission valve body, and forward clutches were replaced on separate occasions; however, the failure persisted. The power train warning light was illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V237000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was contacted and advised that the recall covered the powertrain control module software update, which might not fix the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 108,164.
