While traveling at cruising speed (70 MPH) on Interstate 95 South, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic electrical and mechanical failure, resulting in an immediate engine stall. The vehicle lost all propulsion. Due to the sudden loss of power, the vehicle could not safely clear the active lanes of traffic, coasting to a stop near an exit ramp and dangerously blocking highway traffic.Upon attempting to restart the vehicle to move it out of harm's way, the vehicle emitted a rapid clicking noise and again stalled out. Because this vehicle utilizes an electronic shift-by-wire system, the total power failure permanently locked the transmission into "Park." The vehicle could not be shifted into "Neutral" or "Drive" to be pushed safely off the road. This total vehicle failure created an immediate, life-threatening hazard for the occupants and surrounding motorists on a high-speed interstate, requiring emergency police intervention to manage traffic until a flatbed tow truck arrived.

Preston Automotive Group sold me a used truck that had a replaced odometer and offered and sold as if the vehicles odometer reflected correct mileage. When I brought to their attention they said this is not illegal and should not be a problem and offered no remedy!

I haven't had a issue yet, but I'm not comfortable continuing to drive my truck with a known safety recall that Ford has no solution for even though it's been a recall for several months. I live in a area with no Ford dealerships, so it's a little difficult to get warranty work done.

- #11743418June 11, 2026STEERING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
The EPAS (Electric Power Assisted Steering) module experienced an internal sensor failure, causing a sudden and complete loss of power steering assist. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and the EPAS module has been retained. The loss of power steering occurred without warning while the vehicle was in motion, requiring significantly greater physical force to maintain control of the steering wheel. This creates a serious risk of losing vehicle control, particularly at higher speeds, during lane changes, or in emergency maneuver situations. Because the failure occurs randomly and without any prior indication, there is no opportunity to safely prepare or pull over before it happens, putting both the driver and other motorists at risk. Yes. The issue has been acknowledged by multiple Ford dealerships and independent mechanics, all of whom confirmed this is a known and recurring problem with this vehicle’s EPAS system. Numerous online automotive forums also document other owners experiencing the identical failure, suggesting this is a widespread issue rather than an isolated incident. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Ford dealership, which confirmed the EPAS module failure and acknowledged familiarity with the issue. No warning lights, dashboard messages, unusual sounds, or handling changes occurred before the failure. The power steering loss happened suddenly and without any prior symptoms, leaving no opportunity to anticipate or react to the malfunction before it occurred.

excessive oil consumption. I have to check and refill every single week since i drive over 100 miles/day, it is ridiculous how much oil burns. Transmission at high speed acts very erratic, when downshifting is like it doesn't know what do do and when it finally decides to down shift, it kicks so hard that feels like it's going to brake in pieces, even at low speed the shifting is very hard, not smooth at all. radio carplay is useless, every time i try carplay, it works but i am not able to use the volume, so i have the feature but can't use it

I own a 2020 Ford F-150 with the 5.0L V8 engine and have under 60,000 miles on the vehicle. The engine is consuming excessive amounts of oil — approximately 3 to 4 quarts every 5,000 to 6,000 miles under normal driving conditions with no visible leaks or blue smoke. I brought the vehicle to a Ford dealership and opened a formal case with Ford Motor Company. Ford performed an oil consumption test and stated the consumption was within acceptable limits. I do not find this acceptable for a relatively new engine and the owner’s manual does not indicate that adding oil between changes is normal or expected. This level of oil consumption poses a potential safety risk as inadequate lubrication can lead to premature engine wear and failure. I am requesting that Ford acknowledge this as a defect and provide a remedy under the powertrain warranty. Other F-150 owners have reported the same issue and I believe this warrants a formal investigation

The transmission failed at 108,000 miles, no warning, no lights, nothing. It cost me $10,000 on a vehicle I paid $32,000 for, less than 14,000 miles earlier. Neither Ford directly or the dealership were any help. Ford customer service told me, if it was one mile less than 100,000 miles they would have replaced it at no cost. I also found many other things wrong with the vehicle that the dealership misrepresented to get their top dollar.

The transmission was shifting extremely rough. When attempting to accelerate from a stop, the RPMs would increase without shifting for several seconds causing me to be stuck in the middle of intersections. It would also slip from a higher gear to a lower gear for no reason. This included while driving on the interstate causing a sudden loss of speed. A local transmission shop confirmed the issue and replaced the transmission. That same week he said he had three other Ford F150's (years 2019 to 2020) with the same issue. There were no warning messages when the issue first started happening.

- #11743367June 10, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, POWER TRAIN
Highway Incident: While traveling at highway speeds, a sudden evasive braking maneuver caused the truck to drop power. Upon attempting to re-accelerate, the throttle pedal went to the floor with zero response, and the vehicle continued to decelerate on an active highway. Multiple trailing vehicles had to make emergency maneuvers to swerve around the decelerating truck to avoid a high-speed, rear-end collision. Subsequent Incidents: The vehicle repeatedly forces an uncommanded speed limit of 11 mph while attempting to accelerate from a complete stop or merge from stop signs. This severe lack of predictable acceleration creates an immediate risk of being T-boned or rear-ended by cross-traffic, making the vehicle entirely unsafe to operate in normal traffic conditions. An authorized Ford dealership has confirmed the underlying failure of the hybrid system. They kept the vehicle for approximately one month to replace the entire hybrid drive unit. Following that repair, the vehicle was returned to the dealer a second time, where technicians confirmed a software communication failure between the electric and gas systems, attempting to resolve it by flashing/reprogramming the ECU. The vehicle’s hybrid system and software have been extensively inspected and worked on by manufacturer-certified technicians at an authorized Ford dealership. It has not been inspected by police or insurance, as no physical collision has occurred yet. No warning lamps or messages.

The vehicle lost power rolling from a stop sign, felt like it was trying to shift but wouldn’t then went into limp mode, drove fine the next day. The faulty lead frame is failing, it has no other cause. I refuse to drive and put myself and others in danger to prove it. The dealer said they couldn’t cover it because the code is not covered in the recall, they recommended a new valve body or transmission, they didn't even say why. They were able to recreate it wrench light. P2704 is the code they claimed with the 2 leading causes are valve body, they said my fluid was clean and the vehicle has up to date service with no previous sign of wear, or the lead frame going out, the ACTIVELY recalled part. I tried contacting ford directly and they refused assistance beyond “tow it to a different dealer” and then ended the conversation. It is a safety issue that I will not wait to have break if there is clear signs of it happening.

- #11743311June 10, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
My 2021 Ford F-150 intermittently displays the warning message “Reverse Brake Assist Not Available – See Manual” when the vehicle is placed in reverse. When this message appears, the reverse brake assist / parking collision warning feature is not available, which may reduce safety while backing up. The vehicle was inspected by a Ford dealership. The dealership confirmed DTC U3000:49 in the IPMA module and identified Ford TSB 23-2040 as applicable to the concern. The dealer stated that the repair requires an IPMA software/module update and calibration. The quoted repair cost was approximately $1,100. This appears to be a software/programming-related condition affecting a driver assistance and brake-related safety feature, not normal wear and tear or a failed mechanical component. The warning is intermittent, but it has appeared multiple times. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. No crash, injury, or fire has occurred. Ford Customer Support was contacted and case number XXX was opened. Ford advised that no active warranty, recall, or customer satisfaction program currently provides repair cost coverage, and that because this involves Reverse Brake Assist, I may choose to file a safety concern report with NHTSA. The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V237000 (Power Train). The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle downshifted abruptly, and the power train warning light illuminated. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and turned off. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the residence, where a mobile mechanic diagnosed and determined that the lead frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred while driving at approximately 30 MPH two days later. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle started sputtering and lost motive power. The powertrain warning light illuminated. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and turned off. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred two years later. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.

On a day trip i experienced transmission issues where my truck attempted to shift from 10th gear to 1st gear on the interstate. After getting off an exit it attempted to shift from 6th to 1st gear going 50mph. Ford knows the CDF drum on the 10r80 transmissions are bad from the factory. They have even revised the part to accommodate for the issue. They refuse to recall this transmission or cover the cost. This could have caused a wreck while traveling on the interstate and endangered my life. I have the 6th to 1st gear shift on video.
