This recall has not been handled by Ford Motor company. My transmission is getting destroyed and starting to sound awful from the random downshifts.

Notified of the Recall 23V-896 remedy/parts availability in May of 2025. Appointment scheduled to inspect and submit photos to ford for parts order on 6/3/2025. Called to follow up 9/2025, 1/2026, 5/2026. As of 6/16/2026 the repair order is still open for the parts and there has been no estimated time of delivery. The rear axle bolt on the passenger side has since broken during the wait for the remedy. Ford is taking an unreasonable amount of time to repair.

My 2019 F-150 has only 25,000 miles. The dealership has confirmed transmission failure requiring a $9,000 replacement. A transmission is expected to last significantly longer than 25,000 miles. I have maintained the vehicle. This is an extraordinary premature failure on a critical part of the vehicle and it poses a massive safety liability

- #11744115June 15, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:BRAKE FLUID LOW WARNING: LAMP, WHEELS:RIM
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40–45 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed but responded slowly, resulting in reduced braking performance. The contact became aware that brake fluid was leaking onto the driveway. The brake warning light was illuminated. The contact was concerned about operating the vehicle with the braking issue. Additionally, the driver's and passenger's side front tires and rims were hard to keep clean due to the brake master cylinder leaking black fluid. The contact continuously cleaned the wheels and the rims to prevent the corrosive substance from damaging the tires and the rim. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V236000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were on backorder. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted; however, no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown.

I bought this truck about 2 years ago at 130,000 miles ago. I knew the people I bought it from and it's been well maintained through its entire life. It started shifting really hard from 3rd gear to 6th gear and from 7th to 8th gear and took it to Ford to find out what was going on with it. I ended up getting the software update on it which only slightly helped the issue. It went back to the same hard shifting it was doing before about 5 months later but thought nothing of it since it seemed to be normal at this point. I've now learned this hard shift has been a problem for lots of people owning this truck not just me. Around the time the hard shifting came back, my rear differential went out requiring a $4,500 replacement. A little while after getting the rear differential replaced my transmission's hard shift got worse and took it to the shop to get a transmission service done on it. Now after getting the transmission service I had a transmission failure 2 days later (June 12, 2026). Now I'm getting quoted for a $8,500 fix on a truck I've already had to toss over $6,000 into over the span of 2 years. That's absolutely ridiculous especially with how many people seem to be having issues with this 10 speed transmission.

2021 Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid, VIN [XXX]. At 112,000 miles — just 1,000 miles outside of warranty — the vehicle experienced catastrophic failure of the hybrid battery system. Ford's own technician diagnosed a short in the high voltage battery system that caused damage to the hybrid electric drive unit. Repair estimate is $19,000. Ford declined goodwill warranty coverage despite the vehicle being only 1,000 miles outside warranty and the failure occurring on a known problematic system. This is a $72,000 vehicle purchased new in 2021 that has suffered a catastrophic drivetrain failure at only 3 years old. The high voltage battery short and hybrid drive unit failure represent a potential safety hazard to drivers and other motorists. The turn signal stalk on the steering column will stick after being activated. It requires a sizable amount of force to disable and turn off the turn signal, enough that there is concern of damaging the mechanism.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his girlfriend was driving approximately 50-55 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly downshifted into first gear, and the rear wheels locked up, causing the vehicle to stop in the middle of the road in a slightly sideways position. The powertrain warning light was blinking, and the infotainment screen turned black. Upon restarting the vehicle and shifting to drive(D), the vehicle responded briefly and made a clunking sound. The instrument cluster and the infotainment system were inoperable. The vehicle was towed to an acquaintance's residence, who informed the contact that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train). The vehicle was then towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was later towed to the dealer at the owner's expense. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the PCM had failed and could not connect to the computer at the dealer. The dealer determined that the PCM needed to be replaced for further diagnostic tests. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and several complaints were filed. The failure mileage was approximately 204,000.

The contact owns a 2024 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the Forward Collision Avoidance system failed to function properly. The contact stated that while driving in traffic, after being cut off by another vehicle, the Forward Collision Avoidance system failed to detect or alert the driver of the issue, or activate the Forward Collision Avoidance Automatic Emergency Braking feature. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Ford dealer on two separate occasions due to the failures. During the first visit, the service department performed a diagnostic test but was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact was instructed to return if the failure persisted. During the second service visit, a technician performed a road test with the contact and successfully verified that the ADAS safety features were inoperable. The technician and the contact performed identical test drives on four brand new 2026 Ford F-150 vehicles at the dealer and experienced similar failures with the Forward Collision Avoidance system. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,000.

My F150 lost all power while driving as my wife was approaching a stop sign on XXX. Everything in the truck failed to work. When the power went out all safety devices: 4-way hazards, parking brake, brakes, airbags, steering etc... were inoperable. The truck was towed to a Ford Dealer Garage in Manteno, Illinois about 150 miles from my home. The ford garage replaced the RL3Z-14A068-G Ford Panel Assembly-Fuse Junction Panel. The truck was in the shop for 7 days. I was never informed of the reason this junction panel assemble failed. This same truck was in the shop from May 27 - July 3, 2025 for a wiring harness concern with only 1,200. At first, they were going to replace the entire wiring harness, but eventually they repaired a loose pin. My truck has been in the shop for 45 days since purchasing it on April 18, 2025. My outstanding questions: Are the wiring harness and the panel assembly issues connected? Is it safe to drive my truck? I drove it home from 150 miles away from the breakdown. Since then, I have only driven it a few miles locally. My wife is hesitant to ride in the truck after the experience. I contacted Ford on June 4/5 and they connected me with the Ford service manager at Dixon Ford, in [XXX]. I asked that a Ford Service Engineer inspect the truck to trace any ghost resistance. He indicated that they were unable to perform this task at his place of service. The main concern I have: Is my truck safe to drive? We had initially discussed taking the truck on our 10-day trip to the Rocky Mountains, but opted for my wife's Highlander. Imagine if this failure occurred in the Rocky Mountains? The master brake cylinder and components thereof are leaking and failing, leading to decrease braking power. Yes it is available for inspection. But FORD says my truck is not covered under the recall 20S31. Having this problem puts my family in danger every time we drive this vehicle, I have 3 young children 11,8, & 6 years old. There was no warning light or message prior to the failure. When I called FORD they said it was not covered under the recall and basically it was my problem for repair.

2020 Ford F-150 custom-built in Sept 2020 developed severe, textbook warning signs of rear-end failure while traveling—specifically severe low-speed metallic clanging and high-pitched whirring from the rear wheels. Recognizing the potential danger, we safely exited the highway and sought an immediate diagnostic from an independent shop. The diagnostic confirmed the defect mechanism detailed in NHTSA Campaign 23V896000: fractured axle hub bolts, disintegrated pinion gears, and metal shaving contamination throughout the 9.75-inch axle housing. While we avoided a high-speed highway shutdown by proactively seeking repairs, the underlying structural manufacturing defect is identical to the active recall. My truck's build date sits squarely inside the part production window specified by Ford in that campaign (starting Jan 28, 2020), but my VIN is excluded due to a generation cutoff. Note: We have retained the full replaced axle assembly fully intact and available for physical inspection by NHTSA investigators.

- #11744062June 14, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, ENGINE
Over the years the engine has felt like it was slipping or stalling. It appears to be increasing more. Sometimes it happens while cruise control is on. Today, the engine slipped for a prolonged time, more than usual, and then RPMs decreased. Warning sign of a “wrench” appeared on screen and said see manual. I was also unable to put vehicle in reverse. Slips more at lower speeds when accelerating.
