The Electronic Power Steering (EPS) assembly on my 2018 Ram 1500 Classic Sport suffered a sudden and complete internal electrical failure (Diagnostic Trouble Code C2217). I was out of town in [XXX], and the morning I was checking out of my hotel, the steering completely locked up and would not operate at all upon startup. Because the failure occurred inside a tight parking garage, it was a severe logistical hazard and the truck had to be towed. This stranded me out of town, forcing me to pay for an extra hotel night, a rental car to return to [XXX], and a second rental car two weeks later to travel back to [XXX] to retrieve the truck once repaired. The dealership diagnosed a complete internal failure of the EPS module/steering rack assembly. The original quote was $4,450. I formally requested Goodwill Assistance from Stellantis corporate and opened a customer care case with Ram. Both corporate entities denied me any financial assistance with Stellantis stating their support policies for any Goodwill Assistance is strictly covered for 2019-to-present models. Ram Customer Care deflected all pricing responsibility to the dealer. While I negotiated the bill down from the initial quote, I was still forced to pay $3,880 out of pocket for a known engineering flaw. This identical EPS failure mechanism is the subject of class-action litigation and a massive safety recall on other Ram vehicles (Campaign 92D). Stellantis is using arbitrary model-year cutoffs to avoid financial accountability for a critical safety component. The NHTSA must expand its active investigation to include 2018 models to protect these dangerous, costly internal steering failures. I am filing this complaint regarding a known, widespread, and concealed defect in the 5.7L HEMI engine with Multi-Displacement System (MDS) installed in my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4. I have maintained this vehicle with oil changes every 3,000 miles. Despite this, at every consecutive oil change I have discovered significant metal debris in the drained oil, including chunks and shards, some curved in a distinctive pigtail or coil shape consistent with lifter roller bearing cage material and cam lobe debris as documented in the known HEMI cam and lifter failure pattern confirmed by dealer technicians nationwide. Symptoms include intermittent cold start tick occurring multiple times over the past year, loss of power in tow haul mode at high RPM, and a power loss event following extended towing while idling afterward. My consistent 3,000 mile oil change schedule directly contradicts FCA's standard defense that this failure results from owner neglect. A class action covering all 2014 and newer Gen III 5.7L and 6.4L HEMI engines received preliminary court approval June 29, 2026, with filings alleging FCA knew of this defect since 2012 and actively concealed it. No recall has been issued despite thousands of complaints. The camshaft sits above the oil splash zone receiving inadequate lubrication at idle. When MDS lifters fail, metal debris circulates through the entire oiling system causing catastrophic damage costing $3,500 to over $8,000. This poses a serious public safety risk. I am requesting NHTSA open a formal investigation and consider mandating a safety recall across all affected vehicles.

"My 2019 Ram 1500 was delivered to the factory-authorized dealership in [XXX], for engine lights on warning failures under factory warranty. The dealership held the vehicle out of service for approximately 60 consecutive days from XXX. The exact minute the vehicle was driven off the lot following this 2-month repair window, the identical dashboard safety warning lights immediately illuminated again. The Check Engine light continuously cycles on and off, preventing California smog compliance. Additionally, when hot, a severe, loud roaring noise emanates from the front engine bay as the cooling fan forces itself into emergency high-blast override. The defect is severe, persistent, and entirely unresolved, rendering the vehicle's safety systems inoperable immediately upon release." AC has not work for years, vehicle has been in and out many times, it's still under warranty and I'm afraid it will expired and I'm stuck paying out of pocket trying to fix it. Vehicle will randomly die (engine completely shuts off) while in operation. The engine shuts off completely, putting the driver and those around them in extreme danger. The vehicle has to be put in park (on the highway) and restarted. There is a class action lawsuit because it is happening to so many people including us and Ram refused to accept responsibility. We have had our truck in the dealership a total of 5 times for the same problem and they have either told us the problem can not be replicated and they can’t do anything or they have fixed random parts but the issue is still occurring. There have been several incidents where a collision could have killed someone. It is not a question of if, it’s a question of when an accident will occur because of this.

I was traveling northbound on [XXX], just before [XXX], at approximately 35 mph on dry asphalt in my 2015 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel just after refilling the fuel tank with 13.999 gal. of diesel fuel. While the vehicle was being driven both fuel-tank retention straps broke. The fuel tank dropped from its retained position and was observed resting on the asphalt beneath the vehicle. The vehicle lost all power causing a near-miss incident while attempting to navigate out of traffic. After coming to a stop, the vehicle was moved to the side of the road and parked just east of [XXX] on [XXX]. Passenger and eyewitness [XXX] experienced the entire incident and also observed the fuel tank beneath the vehicle and the broken straps. The vehicle could crank but would not start; and the fuel lines and electrical supply were both damaged. The check-engine light illuminated, as well as the fuel low and fuel sensor fail messages occurred during and after the incident. AAA towed the vehicle directly to Byers Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram on XXX. Dealer repair order XXX was opened XXX, and the vehicle was physically inspected on XXX. The dealer documented: “VERIFIED CUSTOMER CONCERN. CHECKED AND FOUND REAR FUEL TANK STRAP MOUNT IS RUSTED OUT. NOTHING TO HOLD TANK IN VEHICLE.” The dealer further documented that the vehicle “NEEDS FRAME OR REPAIRED FOR REAR FUEL TANK STRAP.” No recall repairs could be made; therefore the disabled vehicle was returned. The concern is that failure of the fuel-tank retention system caused the fuel tank to drop onto the roadway while the vehicle was moving. The dealer subsequently found that the rear fuel-tank strap mounting area was rusted out and that there was “NOTHING TO HOLD TANK IN VEHICLE.” I request that NHTSA investigate whether corrosion at the fuel-tank strap/frame attachment area can progress to the point that the fuel tank can no longer be safely retained. My tire pressure sensor system came on in my dash. Driver front wheel was not registering. Took vehicle to local Goodyear dealer to have checked. They said they were reading all the sensors in all 4 tires and they said the problem was in the sensors in my vehicle. Is this the same problem that is happening to the 2026 models. 09

On August 11, 2026, following substantial rain, the engine unexpectedly stalled three times while the vehicle was being driven. The most serious occurrence happened at approximately 70 mph in heavy highway traffic. The engine stopped and gauges dropped to zero, while electrical accessories and infotainment remained powered. The vehicle restarted immediately but would stall again if shifted out of park. This occurred several times before staying on. No check engine light appeared at any point indicating an issue. Other stalls occurred at lower speeds. I subsequently discovered significant recurring water intrusion into the rear cab. Water visibly drips from both upper corners of the rear-window area during rain and has saturated the rear seat and reached the floor under the rear seats up to the front passenger footwell. My children’s car seats have been soaked. Moisture meter (pin based) readings confirm elevated moisture, visible mold has developed, and the interior has a strong odor. My VIN currently shows the manufacturer’s XG1 extended warranty related to CHMSL water intrusion. I am concerned that water intrusion may have affected the RF hub, wiring, connectors, or other electrical systems and may be related to the engine stalls. The cause of the stalls has not yet been confirmed as I’m waiting on the appointment.

Component or System Failed & Availability for Inspection: High-pressure fuel pump and common rail fuel injection system under NHTSA Recall 22V-406 (Recall Z46). The vehicle and all removed/affected components are grounded and available for inspection at Peterson CDJR in Boise, ID under Repair Order #46751. Safety Risk: Risk of sudden loss of motive power and engine stall while driving, creating collision hazards as defined under NHTSA Recall 22V-406. Chronological Timeline & Dealer Findings: July 5, 2024: Peterson CDJR performed Safety Recall Z46 (NHTSA 22V-406) Procedure A, replacing only the high-pressure fuel pump. September 2026 (RO #45520): Vehicle presented with an illuminated check engine light. Peterson CDJR diagnosed a faulty fuel pressure sensor and replaced the fuel rail and sensor for $2,809.45. September 2026 (RO #46751): Following a 55-mile test drive, Peterson CDJR technician verified the diesel fuel from the fuel tank tested completely clean. Inspection of the newly installed fuel rail sensor documented internal metallic debris actively circulating through the fuel system. September–October 2026: Peterson CDJR opened STAR Case #102997574. DealerCONNECT records and the technician notes from RO #45520 state that the entire fuel system requires replacement. Dealer requested authorization for Recall Z46 Procedure B (complete fuel system replacement kit CSSMZ46DAA). October 5, 2026: Stellantis corporate documented via DealerCONNECT that the fuel system requires replacement, but stated they will not authorize the repair under warranty because the recall was previously closed. Inspections by Manufacturer / Others: Inspected by Peterson CDJR certified technicians and documented in STAR Case #102997574. Reviewed via DealerCONNECT by Stellantis corporate, who confirmed fuel system failure but refused remedy coverage under open Corporate Case #98257662. I have not had followup from my Stellantis case manager. Dealer is responsive.

ABS and Brake lights on dash since October of 2024. No module available from any MOPAR source for a year. Had accident in July 2025. Truck slid as ABS did not engage which was direct cause of the accident resulting in damage to both vehicles. I have followed up monthly as to the availably and they continue to be on backorder and for a year it was showing Stellantis was investigating issue. Apparently this has been an ongoing safety issue that has not been address as a recall.

Vehicle Information: 2014 Ram 1500 Quad Cab VIN: [XXX] Manufacturer: Stellantis N.V. / Chrysler Group LLC Selling/Servicing Dealer: First Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (280 E. Washington St, North Attleboro, MA 02760) Primary Component: Engine / Power Train Systems (Engine Block Corrosion / Oil Leak) Description of Safety Defect & Structural Failure: In December 2025, at approximately 59,000 miles, this vehicle experienced a sudden, severe engine oil leak. The cause was severe corrosion that created a hole through the lower engine block above the oil pan, located behind new transmission lines replaced by the dealership. First Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram acknowledged the severe corrosion and corroded engine block on record. The loss of engine oil created an immediate risk of engine failure, loss of vehicle power while driving, and a severe fire hazard from pressurized engine oil contacting hot exhaust components. The vehicle became completely inoperable and was flatbed towed to First Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Current Status & Official Record: The structural engine defect was never repaired. Subsequent third-party state inspection and state-certified used vehicle arbitration confirmed the unrepaired defect, resulting in a binding vehicle buyback decision issued in my favor on September 15, 2026. there are x2 photos of motor. my photo prior to towing to dealership and the dealerships approximately a month later. The HVAC heater core assembly failed internally. The machic mentioned that this componet is "going out" in these vehicals. He refered me to the dealership. This should be a recall. I was put at severe risk because the the vehicle had a sudden, severe loss of forward visibility while in motion. The failure caused an oily, chemical mist of ethylene glycol coolant to spray out of the defroster vents directly onto the windshield. This film could not be cleared by windshield wipers or standard defogging functions or whiping the windshield internally. It smeared across the glass, causing catastrophic blinding glare from oncoming headlights and traffic, creating an immediate and extreme risk of a collision. Simultaneously, the failure flooded the sealed cabin with toxic, atomized antifreeze fumes. Inhaling these chemical vapors caused immediate, acute coughing and dizziness while I was actively driving, physically impairing my ability to safely operate and control the vehicle and drastically increasing the risk of a collision Also, it was raining and I couldn't roll the windows down. Yes, the defect and cabin contamination were diagnosed by Priority One in Waterloo, IA No, the component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance. There were no warning sign or dash light indicators.

The ABS Control Module (p/n: 68228991AD) failing and not able to locate any new replacement parts. The failed module results in loss of traction control, electronic slip protection, loss of cruise control, as well as issues with my 4wd, and most importantly no Anti-Lock brakes. Occasionally i will get a no start issue stating "CAN BUS FAIL" resulting from the ABS module. If I unplug the module and re-seat it, the can-bus issue goes away. Luckily it has not resulted in a crash, however I am scared it will as I drive 115 miles daily for work. I have reached out to ATE (the manufacturer) they were not able to assist in the issue. According to Dodge that particular ABS module has been in "engineering review/discontinued" since 2020. Which would make the truck have only been 6 years old at the time it happened. I have been searching for a replacement for almost 3.5 years now but they do not seem to exist.

The leather covering on the upper dashboard of my 2019 Ram 1500 Limited is coming unglued from the dashboard and bubbling/lifting up. The problem is getting worse over time. The dashboard and affected material are still installed on the truck and are available for inspection if requested. My safety concern is that the delamination is occurring on the passenger side of the dashboard in the area where the passenger air bag deploys. I am concerned that the loose and raised dashboard material could interfere with the intended deployment of the passenger air bag, change the way the dashboard opens during deployment, or create loose material during a crash. The passenger air bag has not deployed, so I cannot confirm that it will malfunction. My concern is based on where the dashboard material is separating and how much it is lifting from the surface. I have seen many other owners of Ram 1500 trucks reporting the same dashboard leather separation and bubbling problem, which makes me concerned this may be a common defect and not just an isolated issue with my truck. The vehicle has not been involved in a crash and there have been no warning lights or air bag warning messages. The problem is visible by looking at the dashboard. I am reporting this because I believe NHTSA should investigate whether this dashboard delamination could affect the safe operation of the passenger air bag. The issue started happening a couple years after owning the truck
